This temple was built by The king of Hoysala dynasty 'Raja Visnuvardhana ' (after winning his first war ) with his wife Shanthale who had mastered 61 ARTS , of Karnataka . Temples in India usually have square/rectangular base but they were very innovative (king and queen ) and made a blue print of the temple with a 'Nakshtrakara' (starshaped) base . Hoysala's templese are known for their highest level of attention to details of stone carvings . Their life was a tragedy though , first they lost their son ( to be crowned king ) in a horse accident , then they lost their nephew to be made a new prince . Shanthale was deppresed and did a ritual of fasting till death . The kind was very depressed and died later . They were too intelligent and advanced at the time with their knowledge and mastery but Fate showed that 'nothing gold can stay ' .

so, IF this king has BUILT this temple...HOW did he do this?
or did he just renovate this temple, just like Pharao Cheops did with the great Pyramid wich is now called Cheops Pyramid? He did not built this, but dumbass archeology says so. Als many precise statues of the ancients where occupied by egyptian pharaos and they simply scratched their hieroglyphs in there but DID NOT built these masterworks. HOW do you rotate a stone pillar like 6m high and 1m wide in high speed???? THINK ABOUT THAT!
I think these temples where way older and belong to another era, another aeon of mankind wich is now lost in the mist of time. antedeluvian temples and stonework done with ancient machining.

Stop with this alien technology crap, will you? Its all humans. Study your own prehistoric civilization and its ancient knowledge traditions (both oral and scriptural) and its deep-culture, and you'd know where all this comes from. Our intangible knowledge-systems are far more profound than the ones that have left physical evidence behind. Just look at the shaastras, the agamas. Look at Ayurveda, look at our classical music for instance. It all comes from the same place.

@@austin426512 you need to explain to them who or what our devis and devatas are as per our oral and scriptural tradition. Otherwise these mlecchas already float theories about them being other-worldly aliens. The alien god is a well-established pop-culture trope in the post-Abrahamic post-industrial atheist west (especially America) created via mass-media largely after WW-II.

He said that horses were made to run in large circles then they would use some kind of gear system or mechanism to create high speed belts that would carve the pillars. The pillars would stand still while the abrasive belt rotated around.

Hoysaleswara temple is at Belur, Karnataka. The stone used here is called soap stone. It has the property of getting hardened with age. Hence when they were carved, they were relatively softer. This could be a reason for such fine carvings. As per the local guides, the stones were procured from Turuvekere about 100 kms away from the temple site.

Videos of Mohan are greatly informative and I am great fan of his videos. I visited this temple over 30 years back and also Belur and Shravanbelgola.
They perhaps used soap stone which is soft when mined. It may allow such fine polish possibly using long abbressive cloth and many people can go around in circular motion to create lathe effect. This stone then hardens rock solid.
Such fine polishing is not seen on real hard rocks.

So they basically turned a cylindrical rock at high speed and used a chissel to carve away the unwanted parts. While half submerged in water

I've been to this temple. And I never, never knew! To me, looking back, it was just an old temple.
Thank you! You're the only RUclipsr I've seen reacting to these interesting marvels...and thank you for introducing me to Praveen. Fascinating watch.
Next time I walk into an ancient place, I'll keep in mind that there's more to it than meets the eye.🧐
By the by, I think pine trees came to India after the Brits, or perhaps it's only in colder parts of India, that you see pines. Even so, various lines 900 yes ago? Seems unlikely.

There were hand operated drill used untli last few decades, which have strings attached to a stick just like a bow, only difference is that bow had a arced stick where these had a straight stick..string is wound around the handle of pine cone shaped tool and stick is moved horizontally up and down which produces fast paced circular motion for the pine cone head........

When I visited this temple, the local guide told me they used metal wires made a single knot and 2 guys pulled it to create that design and also used different dia wires for different size grooves. But still I'm very impressed by the detailings.

I have personally used lathes to machine materials from plastics to metals, once you do this, the experience you gain lets you easily recognise the "machine marks" that are left behind by various cutting heads/tools. I cant say for the reason the makers of the stone pillars would leave those marks on the stone pillars, other than that they are in fact "machine marks" from being turned in a lathe far more advanced than anything we have to this day. Machine marks of all types appear in ancient stone works all over the world.

These tools were NOT manually operated. They were 'powered' by a different source of
( as yet unknown ) power source. Also watch the video about the 'hanging pillar' at Lepakshi...
Please watch the video about 'Coral Castle' located near Homestead Florida. It was built by ONE man, firstat some other place and later moved to the present location by himself... fascinating!

actually ancient stone masons in india used to prepare a chemical solution which is used to cut stones similar to that of electro chemical broaching.

@@postcolonnial2729 Watch a video about "Coral Castle" in Homestead Florida... Amazing . No one knows how he did it.. He used a technology that is baffling... Similarly the Barabar caves, the polishing is out of this world.

@@shijinaniyankunju3500 I read an article while reading about Machu Picchu that a Spanish explorer wrote this in about 200+ years ago... The Incas used the juice from the leaves of a certain plant to fuse those massive stones together! That's why you don't see any gaps. I found a SIMILAR stone masonry in Hampi. There is a wall in the the Vithala Temple complex in a far corner...EXACTLY like in Machu Picchu. The "technology" is exactly the same!

    Hi Indi.
Please visit our Karnataka in India which has this temple and many other such Hoysala Architectural Marvels.
It is really Amazing to see such Extraordinary Wonderful Temples.
These places are certainly Wonders of the World.
They are built much much earlier and better than the so-called marvels in Agra (sorry for the comparison, but felt that these temples aren't highlighted and many Indians itself aren't aware of these things).
The temples of Beluru, Halebidu, Somanathapura are some of the brilliant temples in Karnataka which are built by the Hoysalas.
I have been fortunate to visit them.
I enjoy Praveen Mohan's videos as much as you do.
    Thanks for the reaction.

I'm of Indian descent but was born in NYC and grew up in a suburb in Long Island and was very disconnected from my culture. I think I actually rejected it for a long time. It's weird but lately watching content from Americans like you and korbinmiles and ricksegall are helping me recconect in a weird way. I almost need to see my own culture through the lens of another American. Too bad you don't make videos anymore or at least haven't in a long time, I've watched several of them today and the content was interesting.
