  • A showcase of the tech behind the building destruction in Precursor (alien invasion simulator) with the developer Jan Orszulik, for a light on performance destruction system in a pixel art game. Quite useful for game developers or for anyone interested in the "behind the scenes" of such effects.

comparating it to noita is a bit of a stretch lmao

@@the.true.Ahe's got a point that you seemed to miss though.
the simulation of physics based systems.

@@En7my No I didn't miss that point lol, with that mindset any 2d game with any kind of physics ever is like noita. The physics between these two games arent even similar, noita has a very special physics system called "everything falling" which simulates everything in the game, the gas, the liquids, the solids. On the other hand this game has a much simpler and preset style of physics with rigged joints calculating everything, and the fact that only buildings/trees have real physics also matters

@@the.true.A I know about all that, it's precisely the reason for such a specific comparison..
You're no better or wiser than anyone, bud, so it'd be best for you to go your own separate way and leave the conversation. Cheers.

verlet integration is really fast to calculate :D
the original Hitman 2 Silent assassin used it for its ragdolls :]
not super realistic but very very satisfying
