Dan Crary is an incredible musician in his own right. His version of Devil's Dream is really amazing. Hearing Dan talk about Doc is really special. I loved the part about Doc making a mistake on purpose just to make people feel better. What a truly wonderful soul.

Most definitely changed the world for the better. Thank you Dan for putting into words what I could never. Doc transcended everything guitar and then some. I am blessed to have access to his and your brand of pickin’ and believe I am a better person for it. Iconic pickers do change things, but Doc had a way of inviting you into his world, and graciously allowed us to stay. Thank you Doc.

I encountered Doc in a friend's living room up in Northern Ontario, Canada, one afternoon, when he placed Doc's 1st record on his player.
I've had a good lifetime of enjoyment and platyng because of him and his followers.
Of course I found Dan Crary 10 years after when his book came out, with a cassette tape to go with it!

My wife and I met you with the Byron, Crary, Hickman Band back in 1976 and we got married soon after. We also fondly remember your band at Calico Ghost Town when they gave pies away on street corners. Things have changed over time, but your skill is still worth of the Hall of Fame. There are a lot of people that concur with your comments, and me for one, well done Dan! He visited Aberdeen in Scotland I 1963? And blew us away, I ended up buying property in N C not far from deep gap, without even knowing Doc was there, small world, I took up flatpicking during Covid at 76 and have become surprisingly adept, it is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
