All the comments are great but I have to say I have never seen anything better greater more fantastic than watching these two guys I am blown away grew up on classical music Mozart concerto East that in front of a judge but then I went to guitar and drums this is and I sang with the the band ones Rick Danko on and on but this is unbelievable it's the best thing I have ever seen of anything any movie any musical performance any healer this is the greatest thing I've ever seen I just can't I'm speechless these two guys are wonderful and this is the greatest thing I've ever seen I could play the thousand times I just the muting of the strings is the thing that absolutely drove me crazy I couldn't believe that muting of the strings I tried that for 20 hours what's couldn't do it God bless these men take care of everybody much love
I love seeing young people playing bluegrass and flatpicking! Seeing this young guy playing so excellently makes me believe that this genre of music is in capable hands.
I live in the same county as Presley and Steve Lewis.. Steve actually had a guitar class at my high school that I benefited from for a good 3 years and he continues to pass his immense knowledge down to the younger generation. I'm a fellow guitar player and the first time I met him/watched Presley play was at our local fiddlers convention. I signed up to participate to have some fun jam sessions live and meet the plethora of musicians. Then this young kid comes on stage and I was thinking "Wow, awesome to see someone so confident and dedicated at such a young age" Then he began playing and I was speechless much like everyone else in attendance. He got a standing O and the rest is history. This is convention they hold about 30 mins from my county. Moral to the story..Begin playing an instrument while your young haha.
Steve is a good friend. He lives locally as a snowbird on my old mail route. We promoted a guitar workshop by him in 2019. It sold out for all 3 classes.
My parents owned a music shop in Maryville where Steve lives. Know him ever since he here from New Jersey. Been like a brother to me. His Kamp every June at Maryville College is so Phenomenal. I've met so many great musicians through his Kamps throughout the many years it's been going on. Never met Presley but have been following him since he "made" the scene. Great video to watch during these isolation times.
Steve's Kamps ARE way more than just entertaining, you'll hear 🎨 artists from all over the world-- And, after every one has appeared in the building, the audience who brought instruments are on the lawn jamming 😅!! I saw Beppe Gambette and Dan Crary and many other flat pickers-- John Reichmann ? also
I've been to 4 of his workshops and he opens the doors to more without those lessons I would never have been able to perforn at festivals, what a great coach he is, Look for Presley to become a star !!!
Edfinleymusic, my story as well…3 SK workshops and a bunch of online lessons, even more SK materials and learning and playing this music for a couple decades!
We saw this young man at the Butte, MT folk festival a few years ago with his band. The oldest member of the band was 23, I think. Man, they blew every one away with their music and the fact that they were all so young, like they'd been playing bluegrass probably before they could even walk, it seemed. Presley was only 16 or 17 at the time. Amazing !
Isn't it so professional of Steve to give this extremely talented young guitarist the platform to show his talent. The enjoyment on both faces says it all.
I haven't had so much fun watching or listening to a video in a long time. I actually clapped a few times here in my office! thanks so much for posting.
I love this!!! Presley is going places no doubt. I’m 20 and have always loved this kind of music and it’s just so wonderful to see someone young picking it up and carrying it on. Good luck and God bless you
Steve and Presley are both FANTASTIC! At 12 years of age, Presley is such an inspiration and so talented! God bless, Brother Charlie Pratt ...loved it!
Steve's experience really shines through when he's playing rhythm for Presley. It's so cool to watch him accentuate Presley's picking, alternating cross picking, playing the off-beat, and just having fun! So cool
He was the best flat pickin guitar player ever and for a blind man to be that awesome it was truly a God given gift and a lot of practice and hard work. I hold him in awe.
This is an awesome performance by Steve and Presley. I saw Doc play this song at MerleFest a number of years ago. I wish Presley had gotten the opportunity to play with Doc. They both would have had ear-to-ear grins on their faces. Here's a great lesson on the song, given by Doc: ruclips.net/video/31Smake_dLU/видео.html
Kid must have came out of the womb already playing the guitar... He started running ahead of the Guy with all the experience... And the Guy is awesome but the kid is amazing for that age or any age for that matter....
I am British and love this style of playing, if you go on youtube you can hear a track from one of my albums 'The Nassington Flyer' with friends (all English), try Ron Ryan Johnny Cash, a song I wrote about John. I have just finished a book a friend in Memphis sent me, 'Eric Claptons Guitar', what a great read!!!
wow...very nice...some guys got it (or they practice a lot). I learned this song years ago when I got a D28 used. Not quite like these guys but I better get some silcone speed spray for fet board...where do I get that?

If I may, let me add to that lineup--Dan Crary, anyone who plays w/ Wayne Henderson, Molly Tuttle and Brian Sutton, to name a few--

My god this is one of the coolest videos on the internet. Watching that kid rip like that makes my day!
Steve Kaufman, national flatpicking champ! He did a tutorial book that I bought and studied YEARS and YEARS ago...

Which music store? I'm from there. I have enjoyed the camps too as a spectator.

Just burn it with a flat pick for about 2000 hours and you won't need to.
You ain't see nothing. Wait till I play Come as you are. I know all the chords!
