- Seiko recently re-released the popular SNXS series of watches. But rather than bury the history, Seiko is doing a first for them, and naming the watch after what we all call it. Introducing the Seiko 5 SNXS reissue.
This 37mm fan favorite comes in 3 versions, all with upgraded hand winding and hacking.

No no no!!! To me it's the opposite. It's the chaptering creamy champagne tone that gives that watch the edge and makes it pop with this beautiful deep blue. I just love that watch and wear it everyday.

Could it be because there are more Seikopaths out there now and more people buying and wearing new model watches? In any given Seiko automatic watch, new or old, what is the difference in you opinion in a watch or a watch movement that would be contributing to what you are claiming?
Not at all. Most don’t even know what they have..as in what the nick name is/exact model. They just bought it because it was “cool”. 4R’s and 6R’s are usually the main culprit. Never been really able to get good numbers out of them after they have been magnetized. I usually have to service them or take the complete bounce off and even out the hairspring. About 80% of the Seiko watches that I have worked on usually have these issues.
Never do I usually have this with 6119‘s, and the other vintage caliber movements. 6309 is definitely one of the movements that I really like working on because the balance is very large and isolates at a very strong rate. Usually I can get an amplitude up to about 280 which is usually really good from a Seiko watch. When it comes to the modern Seiko’s, I can never really get them up to 250 amplitude. Any other questions? Did I miss anything from your statement?

I love Seikos. I own them. But lately it seems they are not keeping up with the times and taking care of their loyal followers. I do hope they get their gears on point.

Idk id definitely need to try it on. 37.5mm seems slightly small to me. I like my 38-42mm cases
@@rayhann8626 a lot of guys like sub 40mm cases bc their wrists are smaller. You probably have a larger wrist, thus making sub 40mm watches look dumb on you. Doesn't mean they're dumb on every guy lmao
@rayhann8626 I mean, they kinda do make watches for smaller wrists. For example, Seiko 5kx has 38mm and 42.5mm cases. There is no point in making a smaller version if they didn't think they could sell more due to the case being smaller.

I am a Seiko fanboy, but I simply don't get why they don't use sapphire for watches in this price range

@@MrLorenzoVidsNo don't do that! I tried both, the blue is just better looking. Legibility is not that great with the silver dial.
SNXS looks better but these new ones have a better water resistance for everyday wear.
Watchmaker here…I am sorry but lately I have had more modern Seiko watches come across my desk with issues, most of all being magnetized/low amplitude… I won’t be recommending/buying a Seiko automatic till the quality goes up…their prices sure have but not quality.
My baby alpinist is one of the most beautiful watches I’ve ever owned. The finishing is amazing for the money… the movement is an absolute pos.

Especially when Seiko-Epson owned sister brand Orient have them on all new watch releases since like 2017, at price points as low as $180. If Orient can do it, Seiko have no excuse. They are literally part of the same company

You're lying. Many of the watches in Orient's collection employ mineral crystals, such as the AA02. All Orient certainly do not use sapphire. Also my Omega Speedmaster doesn't have sapphire and costs thousands. You might want to rethink your argument,

On this model seiko made polished bracelet and patina case (which very different, if look at it). And on my seiko snxs seiko made patina bracelet and polished case. But why, seiko....

Way too expensive. Seiko guys must be huffing gasoline or they're really confident consumers are indeed fools who buy it all. They won't ever see my money as long as they have these prices. My last two watches have already been from other brans because of that.

According to Seiko the 4R36 movement has an accuracy of -35 to +45 seconds a day. Utter lunacy in my books. Not even worth a kick up the ass 🤺
Seiko always states a large variance. I just got this watch and it's +4 a day. My other seiko divers are around the same. The worst ones I have was +12 a day but their movement states the same -35 to +45 seconds a day.
And btw, you can always have it regulated at your AD for free if you purchased it from them.

@@SureShot_2 I had to choose between those two I would definitely go with the tissot. It has a better specifications sheet. And when it comes to servicing parts are going to be easy to get. It’s essentially a 28 24-2 caliber movement. So parts are easily had. Repair would be quick and easy. Parts are pretty standardized as well along with gaskets and crystals. Crystal gaskets are pretty standard as well when it comes to Tissot watches so any aftermarket crystal gasket should fit. when it comes to the crown, a standardize crown could fit on the watch or be fitted. Seiko is definitely going to have more proprietary parts and when it comes to parts needed you’ll probably have to just buy an 8H 35A off eBay somewhere to get parts. When it comes to gasket sizes they’re pretty different. Most likely you’ll have to get them from Seiko… that would probably be the same case for the majority of the parts. I would go with a tissot.

Купив сейко 5 в 2020 спочатку заводив (обертанням годинника)щоранку по 4 хвилини і було добове відставання 10 секунд.(Все було добре)
На 2024 завожу по 25-30 хвилин і добове відставання складає 60-65 секунд.
