i REALLY LOVE Pyramid Lake I have only fished it three times in different trips first time with my 18 ft i/o boat ran to the north and the weather came up and almost sank my butt on the way back in November ! the second time I was skunked fishing from shore because I spent to much time going from place to place and not fishing enough but I witnessed monsters being caught by guys and gals standing on ladders . Years later I swore I would get a ladder and get back into my fly fishing yrs of my youth well many yrs later we/ my wife and our dogs are at the lake in April with plenty of time to kill so i fished off shore with a 9 ft lite spinning rod with small jigs 5ft leaders and a sliding barrel weight above a swivel in blackn purple . as luck would have it the young men with the tribal people running the fishery released a bunch of smolts off shore where we were fishing ... WHOA all of a sudden everyone was catching fish and it was spectacular ! we were netting everyones fish and everyone was having fun and it was great ! I MANAGED TO CATCH A 13 LBDER AND A 15 LBDER and let them go after i got some pics ! I met some really great people ! One older guy was telling me that if i get up early to fish a mouse fly as the coyotes chase them into the water early in the morning and the big ones are there for that and he gave me two to try !The place is one of the best fishing experiences in dealing with people I have ever had the pleasure of doing/ the people are great and the local native Americans really know how to manage the lake . we were in our rv and they have plenty of room for rvs and 5th wheels but no hook ups . You really should go !
