Brilliant stuff. So good to see our local Melbourne lad doing this stuff. Especially after the medical “pause” Warms my little heart. Hope to meet one day.
I've always wanted to fly to the border post between SA and WA, they have an airstrip there. And they sell fuel. Honestly this is something I'd do after getting my pilots licence
Very nice video and there was someone with a camera walking past when the helicopter landed on the western point. What a stroke of luck! The flying was excellent and the scenery striking. It takes me back to my flying days. One sad flight took us over Lockerbie soon after Pan Am 103. We had tickets on Pan Am 103 but we had to change due to a work commitment. I learned to fly at Blackpool, obtaining my PPL at COMED Aviation in 1988. Bill(?) Robinson was the Examiner who took me for my PPL flight test. "Robbo" flew a Cessna 172 off Southport beach for pleasure flights and, after my flight test was over and I had passed he asked if I'd mind doing a low pass over the beach so he could asses the conditions for the next day's pleasure flights. I didn't mind at all!
Been enjoying this little series and look forward to the final episode. Also, you landed at one of my favourite airports in MSFS 2020 i.e. EGEO (Oban) in this episode so nice to see what it's like in real life!
The aviation community in Scotland really demonstrated some excellent goodwill. Fabulous stuff getting to the western point of GB. Cutting off the Mull augurs all kinds of thoughts and expressions, but not on this family oriented flight record?!
The Black Isle comes from Scots Gaelic ‘eilean dubh’ meaning ‘dark island’ which refers to its dark fertile soil. The coastline of mainland Scotland is 6,160 miles (increases to 11,602 miles if you include our islands). The coastline of England is 1563 miles. I’m glad you got the opportunity to see some of our beautiful coastline here in Argyll thanks to the friendly helicopter pilot.
The Black Isle is a peninsula mostly surrounded by the waters of the Moray and Cromarty Firths hence the idea of an island. One story is “Black” Isle because the snow melted quicker than the surrounding land.
@StefanDrury, my apologies, I just watched the latest vid in the series and now realise that you're not PIC. You know what they say about assumption... So it's great to see you back in control of an airplane and can't wait to see the rest of the series and you back as PIC when the time comes.
Mmm not so sure about that. And on a foreign Driving Licence? They nigh on wanted my life history just to go for an accompanied test drive last time I did one.
Yes I'd happily land EYZ there. Approach speeds and judging the wind correctly is important with a strip of that length, but I'd happily do it. As you saw in Ep2 just be prepared to go around.
Fantastic! I’ve been trying to reach out to you Stef if you’re still in the UK to see if you fancy filming with an ex-military jet. I have the pleasure of operating one just north of London and would love to take you up!
Just fyi, the black isle despite not being an isle or black is named so because of all the dark trees on a hill it sometimes looks like a black "island" compared with the land around it from the point of view of Inverness. The more you know!
Rather lost the point of the video series with missing out Campbeltown etc. Could have diverted and landed, rested and refuelled at either Glasgow or Prestwick.
Yet another free trip through the skies courtesy of my favourite online aviator. Thanks for taking us along Stefan!
Hey GK, thanks as always for the support. Good to have you along on the journey with us.
You should do this with Australia Stef! That’s be awesome make it like a good series traveling the coast of Oz Visiting the big cities etc
I would absolutely love to do a series like that, never say never, maybe I'm already planning it... :)
Stef Voice Over: We're in a bit of a predicament this morning
Stef in the video: We're in a bit of a predicament this morning. Hahah
Liked that one too :)
Brilliant stuff.

Circum navigating Australia sounds great! Will be an interesting challenge to get from remote airports to remote extreme points!

I love that he was still keen to help you get the helicopter arriving and departing shots!!!
Hey Stef, great to see you back in the pilot's seat again! Hope you well, wishing you good luck for your endeavour.
Thank you Airniner, I appreciate that, great to be flying again.
@@StefanDrury Cheers mate, it's just good to see you back.
Who wouldn't want to fly with these guys?? Am I right??

Amazing journey so far gents. What a bonus chopper flip.
If you ever get the chance, pop in to the Oban Distillery. They make and serve some fine Scottish whisky.
Random bits of knowledge. That's what makes us great.
Another great video Stef. You two have a great time together and it’s fun to watch. Well done to Charlie! 😎
Cheers Tim
Such a great series Stef - Once I get my ppl I will certainly attempt 👍👍
Charlie is a star 🙌
Loving this series! My parents were actually in the Oban area at the time with their boat, but the R66 is definitely the right tool for the job!
Ah no way, perhaps we spoke to them, we called a lot of boat companies! Thanks as always Rob.
Brings back so many memories of my trip around that part of Scotland so many years ago. I definitely need to make a return journey.
Nice to know you are back a flying captain
Awesome video yet again, you don’t miss!
The flying is amazing but can I just say that the editing and flow of video, well, flows really nice!
Everyone in the comment: do an Aussie circuit, Stef: hold my beer
Very cool loving the series so far!
Absolutely loving this little series Stef! Looks like it was a lot of fun to do
Thank you, yes this was a brilliant experience.
Thanks for sharing your adventures.. arriving on that Western point in style!
Thanks Kamaouk, yes a very lucky way to get there for sure.
Enjoying this adventure series Stef, good challenge!..Great seeing the heli pilot giving you both a "joy ride"

This was absolutely awesome. Loved every minute
Who knew we'd get treated to a 🚁 ride in this episode? Well done Stef!
We certainly didn't until 15 minutes before it happened!
These are brilliant 🏴💙
What a magnificent adventure you are enjoying Stef.
Thanks Graham, yes we're having a pretty fun time doing this!
brilliant series. I love picking out the places you haven't captioned like Turnberry golf course @13:03
Great video mate well done
xx
Really enjoying your trip love to see many more.
absolutely brilliant! Huge shout out to "R66 Red Charlie". ❤
Amazing!
Excellent. Love it ! But still very jealous!
Another great video Stef! Loving the UK content, and seeing the great country side!
Thanks as always MF.
Another fantastic episode - keep them coming!! ✈️🙂✈️
Many thanks Sandy, still a lot of coastline to come!
I’ve just started following you. These videos are great❤

Loving this series! Great work old boy!
Many thanks Dan, I appreciate that.
Well done, another brilliant video.
i spotted that helicopter in a field in dundee Saturday 17 August
Very interesting to see you land at my local airport
Thanks for sharing Stef. It's fantastic to see you back as PIC! I love your almost goofy humour - sometimes, I laugh harder than I should 😂
Ha thanks JD, life's too short to take it too seriously!

Love. These . Trips! But, Im not so sure if I could be in a helicopter. What a Beautiful area!!🛩️
Love this series
Thanks Ashton 🤛
Brilliant vid, thanks, comedy on point "oh a bit behind the scenes, only 30 mile walk" :)
Thanks Lea
Looking forward to the south coast and Devon
This series is great. You sooooo need to do the same NSEW points n Australia. Admittedly, it may take longer than a week! 😂
The adventure with Captain Stef Bigglesworth and Flight Sergeant Philippe continues...
Wow! An R66 Turbine!
Yeah makes a good sound doesn't it.
If you ever need a car for a day.
Just to go a car sales room and ask for a test drive - they normally ask for the car back before they close .
I'll remember this tip for next time.
Mmm not so sure about that. And on a foreign Driving Licence? They nigh on wanted my life history just to go for an accompanied test drive last time I did one.
That helicopter ride 👌
nice following you around the UK. BTW would you land with an SR22 at Newhall Mains strip?
Yes I'd happily land EYZ there. Approach speeds and judging the wind correctly is important with a strip of that length, but I'd happily do it. As you saw in Ep2 just be prepared to go around.
12:49 so you missed flying past ol’ RAF Machrihanish, the place where in the 80ies and 90ies Aurora (the _mythical_ plane, not the light) was based 😉
I'm a pilot from the Black Isle, and yes, it's a peninsula, not an island!
Fantastic! I’ve been trying to reach out to you Stef if you’re still in the UK to see if you fancy filming with an ex-military jet. I have the pleasure of operating one just north of London and would love to take you up!
Ah thank you, jump on my website (stef747.com) and there's a contact form there for any media / general enquiries.
@@StefanDrury Will do!
Well if Charlie ever goes to Melbourne, Australia then you owe a flight lol.
Absolutely, happy to take him.

Mach Loop next trip?
In the SR20, yes good idea!
I hope with what you said you’re not going to make big cuts with Wales.
When are you going to try fly the Coastline of Australia in a week? :)
Going to need a pretty fast plane to do that in! Vision Jet at 1,500 would be fun though.
@@StefanDrury I did say *try*.
One of the ex-RAAF PC-9's would have been fun, no idea what they went for at Auction though.
How does he not know Morecambe and Wise?!
Sellafield is a nuclear waste processing and storage facility these days I believe.
New to your content and channel, really enjoying it! This series got me hooked! being from Newcastle I enjoyed your request to head up to Gosforth!
Thanks, and welcome to the channel, nice to have you travelling along with us.

Thanks for being here early!
