I just want to thank you for posting this as it saved 3 axs batteries. 2 were completely new and the mechanic thought they were dead/broken from being stored for so long as they wouldn’t charge. I finally got all of them to charge after a lot of attempts.
Thank you! Just picked up a new spare battery from the bike shop yesterday and same red light as with the last one. The battery on the bike charged no problem so I knew it was not the charger. Your ‘fix’ worked for me.

This helped, indeed, but in my case, I had to wait in each step until the LED turned on. If you repeat the steps too fast, it won't work. I had tried it at least 40-50 times fast, and after that didn't work, I ran 4 or 5 of those steps slowly, and then the LED turned orange.
Wow, I bought a new Trek bike that comes with it. Out of the box the battery can't charge. I use your method but a bit different, I just use 1 tap until the LED turn red and off again and it goes to about 6 to 7 times of Red LED than finally it goes to Orange LED, Thank you for the video tips, I was about to claim warranty which will definitely take a few weeks. Thank you, thank you and thank you...
How long does it take to charge these. Did one for 30 mins still did work on the bike. Surely you can part charge and not have to wait for the green light.

A full charge takes 60 min.
I have tried but the light blinking red and yellow.. any idea?
No. Usually it's red or orange, but not both together.

Then the battery is really defective. Buy a new one.
Can cofirm this actyally worked! I needed to do it 4-5 times and then it charged, it was a brand new bike
When mine turns orange it turns off after 5 secs then no light ?
No light means defective...
Mine doesn’t even show a red light only the blue light at the back
