I had an interesting call today - I hit an automated "personal assistant" while cold calling that asked my name (which was just recorded) to screen the call for a VP. He ended up taking the call, but that level of automation is cold and insidious. Have you encountered many of those?

But in the LinkedIn era with lead scraping tools, calling through on landlines and dealing with gatekeepers is far too time-consuming. Get hold of mobile numbers and corporate DDIs (where possible) and just keep dialing, connect rate is higher and the law of averages stays on your team.
@The UK's Most Hated Sales Trainer in all fairness, at 2:36, when you say you didn't give them your name or company, 1:45 you did tell the gatekeeper your name was Benjamin. That doesn't mean you aren't right or what you teach doesn't work. You've demonstrated time and time again that it does! It certainly doesn't sound rude to forego divulging the company name.
Why didnt you leave your number? I would have done. Would you potentially see this as a future challenge as he has your number and knows not to answer?
