It's very simple to make. The consistency is spot on. I love the mild sweetness, compared to other buttercream recipes, but I found the taste of the condensed milk overpowering. I tried adding pineapple flavor concentrate, hoping it would tip the scale but it didn't. I think I will try the chocolate version next. Hopefully, that will cover up or tone down the flavor of the condensed milk.

A baker in the Philippines which has a warm climate said it was about 4-5 hours before she saw a noticeable difference in consistency and colour. Her analysis is somewhere on RUclips where she does a comparison.

@@SuperProverbs423 It depends on what climate you live. In hot summer weather, butter will melt at room temperature and will NOT hold its shape. That's first. Secondly - to hold shape it has to have something more added to it, as butter will become soft and condensed milk is a liquid already! If it was caramel condensed mixed with butter then it would hold the shape as condensed caramel is not liquid as original condensed. Something like agar agar had to be added or some other thickener.

But, I consider that a "given," just like those living in higher altitudes must adjust for baking. 😉 I have been surprised by experience though... like heavy cream with higher fat content can be whipped up to a silky smooth texture and hold its shape without adding anything. Same thing with egg whites. After all, baking is a science, yes? I just enjoy discovering all the possibilities. 😊 Thank you for your insight!

If you use the fruit, the consistency would be for filling, not icing. The fibers of the fruit would clog the piping tips, but it would be lovely for between layers & to frost the cake.

Beat the heck out of buttercream with a mixer will also rid it of air bubbles. I beat my buttercream for 5 minutes after all ingredients are added.

It will frost up to 36 Cupcakes depending on the size of you swirl. Leftovers freeze very well.

Condense milk did u use room temperature or chilled?
I use it both ways. I warmer months chilled is best and in cooler months room temp is best. I hope that helps.
