Most Wanted 05 essentially brought the two Need for Speed themes fans loved. The exotic cars and police chases from Hot Pursuit and the urban street racing and customization from Underground. To see those two NFS themes come together in a brilliant game that is Most Wanted 2005, is incredible. In my opinion, that era was a peak for Need for Speed and racing games in general.

@@AFC-NzLxzT don't give EA too much credit, Criterion are doing what they can with a small group of passionate friends _(much better than having too many cooks in the kitchen)_ but with the modern gaming scene being the way it is, a game with the same presentation as Most Wanted wouldn't be allowed today

Considering Most Wanted 2005 is approaching its 20th anniversary on November 15, 2025 (North American release date back in 2005), it would be cool if Theo is able to have his M3 GTR build ready for the 20th anniversary of the game in 2025.
This is sick, I was skipping Unbound and waiting for the next nfs but this looks worth my money now... With all the updates, it's really starting to look worth picking up
BTW. I found out that any car you found in lockup on the map. You can get extracted with it and will be permanently in your garage (that's include in free room) i didin't check if is in story too but it's something

So this opens the question, the M3 GTR only appeared canonically in Heat and Unbound after it was indented by Cross (I don't count Most Wanted 2012 because the game has 0 story and the times the car was added in other games without it being part of the story), so the question is... it's the one in Heat and the story of Unbound the original one or it's the one in the Lockdown? Because any of the two could be a replica.
My best guess is the one that appears in lockdown is retrieved, repaired and then finally delivered to Razor- I mean Racer X in the story delivery mission.
I have some good news. Not only will you unlock the BMW M3 GTR Legends edition for online, but you'll also be able to use it in Story mode like it should have been from the get go.
I respect the hell out of the M3 GTR as a car, my issue was always the 2005-ass livery, I never liked it much in the first place and it's only got worse over time. The mix of the beta livery, the final livery and damage however, that's the best thing they could have done with it - it's similar to the derelicts and abandoned cars in Payback and it looks so good! I'd like to see more damaged cars, I dig the look way more than 'pristine garage queen' for cars used in police chases and street racing, and I wish there was a dirty option for everything- making a dirty wrap is a surprising amount of work. As for that wrap that combines all the iconic cars, that's amazing work by Criterion/the NFS team, it looks amazing.
Can we talk about the grind reward vehicles, all cars were available to unlock already. The best cars to grind and collect are randomly around the map. Plus the challenges aren't possible solo.
I agree. It's maddening. I have a P1, LaFerrari and Chiron in the story mode. Why can't that translate to me having them in the online mode? They're locked behind these stupid challenges that'll take over 100 races to complete. And they're a completely different set of challenges. I get not wanting to make the game too easy, but this is insane.
i played the lockdown mode for a several times and didnt even see a blacklist car, and then booom straight away i found the M3. that was insane W update!!
@ yes I extracted a few cars from lockup including 3 blacklist cars, and all of them were added to my garage and was usable online. But the first car I extracted was a non blacklist gtr from a lockup, and after extraction it showed that I got it but the car wasn’t there in my garage.
The m3 is literally the most iconic car of all video games why shouldn't the bring this beauty back all the time, I don't normaly likr bmw but this one is pure perfection

The number of people who have played Most Wanted is shrinking every year (that's life), and the newer players are making up a bigger percentage of the community with every new game. I respect their attempts to make new hero cars like the Volvo Polestar 1 and the Asap Rocky Mercedes 190E, but they didn't deliver because they don't have much giving them value (I forgot about NFS Payback 💀, other than Mac's Belair and that's a reach, i can't think of any iconic car there)
@neckray it's like some source decided on us that the only iconic set of cars had to be from 1995-2005 and we're self limiting our imagination. The R35 GTR has gotten more affordable over the years so they could've easily made Tyler's R34 an R35 just like they could've made a spiritual successor of the M3 with a new M2 or M4. I think that one BRZ/GT86 at the NFS 2015 showcase had potential... idk, there are plenty of new sports cars they could use Nissan Z, Supra mk5, M4, Gr Corolla and Yaris, Miata, GTR, introduce Hyundai N cars maybe. There are opportunities out there

But I agree the NFS series relies too much on the M3 GTR, but I can't understand why NFS don't use the 'iconic cars' they try to replace it with more in the game Carbon did it quite well, with the R8 repeatedly showing up to tease us in cutscenes, and other boss cars being desirable but accessible. 2015's different icon cars were a great idea - shame about how the game handled... Payback had Tyler's Skyline on the cover, but completely wasted it and barely gave players any chance to drive it; there was also that silver RTR Mustang, but it was also only in one mission. I never understood why they never made any of these great cars available to players. Payback was a really fun game but they made so many missteps. Heat had the cool yellow Polestar and let you drive it for all of three minutes right at the start, then never again, and only made it accessible to buy in an update (admittedly, it did fall in the sea - but why not put a storyline in about pulling it out and restoring it? Then there's the yellow Camaro - apparently making it choosible as a starter car was a great gag - but then we just can't ever drive it outside that one mission? Pure BS Unbound's Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 is a badass car - but again, it only showed up in one or two missions and as an AI opponent. They could have had a whole string of storyline missions about the player driving, testing, customising and upgrading the car for ASAP Rocky (for example) that would have really made the car special for players. But like most of the rest on Unbound's storyline, they apparently couldn't be bothered to put any thought into it.
@Josh_Quillan they replicate the visual scenes of a hero car without understanding why there was more to it than the visuals of "here's a modified car from a cutscene that you can drive". It's like if someone reused the first super saiyan goku transformation for new forms, they don't understand that it takes more than him charging up for a new form, it needs a story significance like it was teased on earth and namek. That's why ultra instinct turned out to be iconic, because if was teased throughout the story that he should clear his head and not think too much before acting So what they need to do next time (we as a fanbase say that with every game smh) is: - Have a well designed hero car from a brand people love - Have you driving it or racing against it in another car that's not as remarkable but competitive during the intro of the game - Either lose it because of a story element or make it so it turns out your character was neither of the racers at the intro and you were actually the one with a 2010 VW Polo GTI all along - Dangle it in front of you throughout the game with significant story elements on why that car means a lot to you until you finally get it back (possibly by force if he refuses to accept losing) or progress until you beat the boss and he gives it to you because he lost Bonus: make the car customizable with 3 different modes: original race form, top speed low drag form, and drift form. And each form having slight customization option differences (2 exclusive parts for race, low drag, drift)

Bruh, I am the luckiest unlucky guy ever. In my first ever lockup, I got M3 GTR, I tried to extract the whole time. Then on the last truck, I lost the truck by 1 second and 99% done. A f**ing heavy slammed me and I ran out of time
Actually after years , i really liked this update , well done need for speed , i hope they keep listening to fans , also if they could expand new map and new music playlist then it will be awesome
I think my favorite part is how they do have rewards for taking risk, just the other day I got a P1 GTR from a lockup and after extracting with it, not only did I earn and keep the car but I also unlocked it without having to do the challenge for it.
I got razor m3 in a hour single player I was hyped & hoping to see it, got it & customize alittle bit but left it dirty it’s a wonderful car can’t wait for my 30th anniversary bmw m3 gtr

I genuinely got so insanely lucky finding this car. It spawned in the bottom right corner of the city and either nobody noticed I beat them to it but I managed to extract with the M3. It’s was my second blacklist car I had found and my 5th attempt at the gamemode.
I already found two of them, one rebuild to normal m3 GTR, one stays razor style and i need one more to build beta version and then level up to 4th 30th anniversary edition, that would be funny -"what you have to sale in your garage" -"so here's m3 GTR, there is good old looking m3 GTR and there is very good m3 GTR"
I found the fkn M3 when I spawned in a solo crew, that was also when I found out entering solo breaks the game and sets you in a solo server that was awesomr
That's the same lockup I found Mings Murcielago at even before you could go in with a bike. I was riding a bike and this thing still costed me 100K. I'm not that fatigued about the M3, its just that my memories about the M3 E46 was in a cabriolet and NFS doens't want to add the cabriolet version of this one. Plus I have fonder memories of my dads tuned E36 than his M3 E46 Cabriolet that was kept in silver. But please give us the 318 E36 and not the 316 E36 that has a shorter luggage part.
How cool would it be if we actually played as Razor in the new NFS as a sequel to Most Wanted and Carbon and ACTUALLY integrated the M3 GTR into the plot?
I get how these cars keep reappearing but going back in every new NFS game just makes me want to play the old games intead of buying the new ones actually
Lol did you notice at the top it says that Razor had that M3. Meaning that they are telling a story with the M3. So the other version I am wondering if someone found it and fixed the car. As we all know Razor took the M3 from you in most wanted. While after most wanted we have no clue what happened to the M3. So I am wondering if that second version of the M3 is what it looks like now.
The M3 GTR is NFS and same way the other way around. This game pushed the car from being more than a race car the same way Back to the Future brought the Deloran from a car that bankrupted a company to what it is today. The legacy of NFS IS THE M3. So if you didn’t want this type of update, what did you truly expect a NFS update to look like is my question.
Man, this update reminds me of need for speed. Most wanted, it's not the one that you're thinking about though, that's right, it reminds me of nfs most wanted 2012, but how you may ask?, you see, the cars that are spread around lakeshore in lock down mode, the ones that you can unlock via driving them and extracting them in lock down, so in 2012 we had that but it's for the entire game, and they're quote on quote called "jackspots", we now have something similar to that in unbound but only in the brand new lock down mode only, and it gives me the nostalgia of nfs most wanted 2012's first mission tbh. 😅
The third lockdown i was in, i got the M3, i felt nothing as i got it, idk got so easy it didn't even felt good... My server was almost only me and my two mates, i don't know how it happened, so i made 1 race wit h the mate, and 1 alone, with some money i got roaming, found the bike, got to a spot tried to get a car didn''t get on time, then got to another e opened myself, and the M3 was there, the mate even tried taking but i got first then just needed to run until the truck appeared and extracted myself.

I genuinely got so insanely lucky finding this car. It spawned in the bottom right corner of the city and either nobody noticed I beat them to it but I managed to extract with the M3. It’s was my second blacklist car I had found and my 5th attempt at the gamemode.

Btw the one fender with a diffrent red livery is a part if the unreleased beta livery of the m3 gtr.

I found the fkn M3 when I spawned in a solo crew, that was also when I found out entering solo breaks the game and sets you in a solo server

That's the same lockup I found Mings Murcielago at even before you could go in with a bike. I was riding a bike and this thing still costed me 100K.
I'm not that fatigued about the M3, its just that my memories about the M3 E46 was in a cabriolet and NFS doens't want to add the cabriolet version of this one. Plus I have fonder memories of my dads tuned E36 than his M3 E46 Cabriolet that was kept in silver. But please give us the 318 E36 and not the 316 E36 that has a shorter luggage part.

Lock down has been having a lot of glitches where most of us players have not been getting the cars so I hope the team can patch this very soon 🙏

Good vid as always however it's the same thing for me I've seen several times now if the M3 doesn't have the loud tranny wine its just another car.
Lol did you notice at the top it says that Razor had that M3. Meaning that they are telling a story with the M3. So the other version I am wondering if someone found it and fixed the car. As we all know Razor took the M3 from you in most wanted. While after most wanted we have no clue what happened to the M3. So I am wondering if that second version of the M3 is what it looks like now.
The M3 GTR is NFS and same way the other way around. This game pushed the car from being more than a race car the same way Back to the Future brought the Deloran from a car that bankrupted a company to what it is today. The legacy of NFS IS THE M3. So if you didn’t want this type of update, what did you truly expect a NFS update to look like is my question.

@ as someone who’s plays GTA Online and has the same problem, I can fault NFS for this. But none the less I enjoy the gritty extraction update
I managed to get my hands on it a few hours ago. Took me 12 tries before I found it.
If only the handling and "drift mode" characteristics of the recent NFS games wasn't so terrible, it would be a game worth playing.

Man, this update reminds me of need for speed. Most wanted, it's not the one that you're thinking about though, that's right, it reminds me of nfs most wanted 2012, but how you may ask?, you see, the cars that are spread around lakeshore in lock down mode, the ones that you can unlock via driving them and extracting them in lock down, so in 2012 we had that but it's for the entire game, and they're quote on quote called "jackspots", we now have something similar to that in unbound but only in the brand new lock down mode only, and it gives me the nostalgia of nfs most wanted 2012's first mission tbh. 😅
The third lockdown i was in, i got the M3, i felt nothing as i got it, idk got so easy it didn't even felt good... My server was almost only me and my two mates, i don't know how it happened, so i made 1 race wit h the mate, and 1 alone, with some money i got roaming, found the bike, got to a spot tried to get a car didn''t get on time, then got to another e opened myself, and the M3 was there, the mate even tried taking but i got first then just needed to run until the truck appeared and extracted myself.
