mad respect for a kid staying at a normal high school and learning how to be a dog as opposed to these prep academy super teams. its why a guy like tyrese maxey can thrive for instance. when you have to get 25 a night or your high school team doesn't have a chance you really improve your game.

There are plenty of NBA superstars who attended traditional high schools but look at a guy like Cade Cunningham. Sure, he just got a massive contract. But this is probably the worst basketball team and the most losing he has ever done in his life. He went from being on the greatest high school team ever to whatever you want to call the situation in Detroit. same thing with Scottie Barnes in Toronto

Alijah is clearly the best player in high-school but if he wants to be anything like his dad he gotta work on that jumper and touch. His shot is very flat and he loses control of the ball on his follow through. I feel like a majority of his misses have nothing to do with defenders but a flaw in his shootings mechanics

His pops makes sure he works on his shot. He posts their workouts sometimes. I think it’ll come. He’s just starting his junior which is insane because he’s so skilled, but his ceiling is still high and he’s 6’7 already. He has all the tools

Come on, we all know Alijah can score (Gilbert made sure of that) but can he make his teammates better and make the best play everytime he touches the ball, instead of forcing up a tough shot every time he touches it. Kinda boring watching him force shot after shot, even if he does make a decent percentage of them.

Competition at the high school level only matters if your not sure how you stack up against other athletes. Hes 6'7 strong on the ball, and a really good athlete he's not gonna be shell shocked in college. Plus he plays against pros in pickup games
