What has always bothered me about Assassin's Creed is the fact that we are the awesome Assassin's who can climb anything... Well, apparently so can the regular infantry of any army ever.
I think the AI in these games are made to be dumb. Because Assassin's Creed is a semi-stealth game. It has only basic elements of stealth. Not all of them. So if the Guards have the smartness of Hitman games then people would complain why the AI is so smart. (Honestly though I also sometimes thought why does the guards have 0iq sometimes.)
One time when I was playing AC Syndicate, I was playing as Eve chasing Templars on horse carriages to capture the subject. The Templars whole horse carriage crashed inside a freakin bar restaurant. It was the craziest thing I ever seen in a AC videogame. The whole horse carriage wasn't suppose to fit inside the bar, but it did for some apparent reason.
People say Brotherhood is the worst, but it was mighty impressive technically. Especially the skybox and the realtime cloud system - the clouds would actually cast shadows. So sick. Best sky ever in any game, to this day.

Origins combat is okay, but it feels very clunky to me. Hoping it's smoothed out a little for Oddysey

You're right, AC origins changed the way I look at this franchise. It has changed completely. The game became much more difficult than before, the buildings look really good in my opinion, very good gameplay, especially combat and the most important of all, the variety of weapons that you can find and upgrade
