- In this video I will take you guys along with me on the mission of installing the 123 ignition. They are a few reasons why I have decided to go this route. One being the great theft protection that this distributor offers. Also, this distributor offers a lot of tuning capabilities that the stock one does not. This can help with a lot of the current issues I am having with my idle and the degree of timing.
As for the price it is pretty costly but when you look at the safety feature it provides it is well worth the money as you know we invest so much money in these cars and to have it stolen so easily can be very scary.
I am not sponsor from 123 ignition but their site has the product at 123ignition.com
One thing that wasn't really explained well in the manual is the small hex screw that adjusts a little metal slider on the upper rim of the distributor. This locks the cap in place after the clamps are on and prevents said cap from wobbling back and forth. I suspect some of the people who have complain that the caps are cheap and break leads easily have overlooked this.
yeah, I agree I dint think the caps are cheap or feel any different from other caps I've replace. but that's a great suggestion I'm going to look into that this weekend.
Thanks for the video Frank - how has it been so far? Is it a huge difference over the stock distributor? I’m close to pulling the trigger and definitely want to know if it’s worth it
You can definitely do a lot with this in my opinion. I definitely got it for the protection it gives your car and won’t let it be started without the pin and code entered on the app to unlock the distributor. For the price and the piece of mind I think it’s worth every penny
Great video my friend! By the way are you running megasquirt or some after market ecu cuz I don’t see an air flow meter.
I’m running the ez-efi system I have a other video explaining it and how it’s better than the stock system
