If you pay attention to how your pieces fit together and press your seams opposite so that they nest, it will all go together super easy with everything matching and meeting up perfectly.

If you square up to 9 inches you can
then cut at three inches , easier math and more efficient, for the people like me who don’t math fractions well!❤️👍🏻

If you cut 3 inches then you will have only 3 strips..you need 4 strips. If you do 10 inch block it can be cut Into 2.5 inches
Perhaps you could show us the different ways you can layout these blocks.

How would one go about making this a queen size? I have a daughter getting married in April that would just love this but I'm still a novice.
You can make as many blocks as you need to get the size you need for a Queen...or 'close' to the size of Queen...then just add border to make it the exact size...

How would you make this quilt with fat quarters and how many print fat quarters would you need?

If I square to 9.5" , what dimension did I start with? Did I miss that?
Does "layer cake" mean 10"?

That would make things a lot easier for him.
You can alternate/ nest seams- however it is not necessary for this block. I didnt for this quilt and it came out on point. Its really up to you though ! ~~Take Care, Brody

Hi, can I use 8 inches squares for this project as I many 8 inches please let me know
Yes, you could...you would just have smaller finished blocks...going smaller also gets 'fiddly' but I don't think 8" is too small to start out with...
8" would work just fine! You will obviously have a little smaller finished block but it will look great. Hope you try it soon! ~~Take Care, Brody

Hey I totally didnt do it right i cut them one at a time instead of 2 so what should I do

Why 2 3/8"?
Allowing for the 1/4 inch seam, cutting the strips into 2 3/8" strips should give you 4 strips that are all the same size. I hope this helps! Happy quilting!
