While I was very lucky to have been raised on jazz, my father being a greatly respected jazz bassist, I'll never forget around age 10 I couldn't get enough of this song...... eventually blessed to hang out with Horace Silver at a gig in Washington, D.C. about age 14...... what a congenial man, smiling so much when he played. I'd no problem being served in clubs, sitting at the bar with Horace, drinking Tequila Sunrises. Most of my parents' record collection was on Blue Note label..... some a bit more outside than I preferred...... when this was released, it was the Latin vibe that grabbed me.
This is a great performance.... just discovered your band tonight. Your repertoire is incredible.
