- Lets go ahead and add a nuclear reactor to our ICBM Submarine in Stormworks! We are just using the preset reactor at this point but we'll have to maybe modify it soon.

idea: a build where your viewers make each piece and upload it to the workshop (every episode 1 or 2 pieces are added)
(also every stage of the build is uploaded to the workshop so people can make their pieces fit properly)
It would be cool if you added some torpedo bays to the front of the submarine
That was my idea
To make an efficient reactor you'll have to make the generator make at least 3-4k output, i was able to do so using the steam pistons, not sure if the medium of small ones would fit in there though
could you make the missile hatches open upwards instead of inwards to make it look more realistic and better looking
I would recommend having some back-up generators, or something to give the sub power if something goes wrong with the reactor setup.
Am I the only one that's never been able to get a reactor to work? It either blows up no matter how many relief valves/control valves I put in OR it just stops producing thrust through the turbine after 5 minutes
Frantic needs a pressure release for the boiler and the optimal tempeture is 280 for reactor. The boiler explodes at 10 pressure on dial this is also for you I have not made a reactor myself but the theory it's easy
All you need to control boiler pressure is a threshold checking the boiler temperature going to the pumps between the heat source and boiler. Set the threshold to 0-115. Then its basically foolproof.
Then you just send the steam through a chain of turbines connected in series 'rps to rps' and 'steam out to large electric pump to steam in' put 2 1:3 gearboxes on the end and a large generator.
Im running 2 lines of 4 turbines on 1 boiler and making 1280 'generator output'.

Lol as soon as you said it's loud I spawned one from a workbench and yeah.... It's loud... I feel like it just grows louder and louder too.
The best way to control a boiler is by limiting its water. If pressures is below 6 give it 2 water. No need to divert anything it regulates itself.
It's says a lot on how you managed to fit a nuclear reactor in a sub (respect)
Most subs are powered by nuclear reactors these days.

honestly, if he combines both the nuclear power and the battery, it may help the sub go faster or the nuclear reactor needs to be bigger for the blade to spin faster, but that's what I think.

The nuclear reactor should be the power source for pretty much everything in the submarine.
Not really you can't hook them up to everything because it will overload it

It's a nuclear reactor, sée how a nuclear facility is made, dont make a close circuit but take water from the sea and pump it in the nuclear rodes, After in the turbine and straight in the see
You dont get straoght sea water for the loop that goes into the reactorì. That is only used on the condenser and also salt water usually makes corrosion in piping.
Reactors inner water is pretty much pressurized water or other water. (Depends on reactor type)
You can put infinitely many turbines in series

Needs a MUCH bigger prop. Typically the prop size on a "Boomer" is roughly 40-45% of the diameter of the sub.
