It made me so happy to see the pill box on the Breydon layout. I grew up in Norfolk and used to regularly go to Gt Yarmouth by train and car, where you could see pill boxes across the marshes as you went along. And yes, seeing Breydon Water from the train. Fond childhood memories 😊💜
@@lmm Thank you!! By the way, Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club have their first Open Day of the year on the last Sunday of May. You would be more than welcome to visit if you’re in the area.
@@lmm the last one I went to was a little disappointing its mostly just vendors which is fine but there was only like 3 or 4 layouts one of which was lego but I also just prefer the british engines and rolling stock
It looked like it was a great show ans a good mix of different scales and types of layouts. Some nice ideas there too that I might have taken note of :) Wish I'd of been able to attend it. :)
The show was excellent. I did manage to go and have a look around when not on duty controlling Dawlish Warren. The 009 layout area that wasn't in this video had some excellent layouts in it, some were really simple with exceptional levels of detail.
@@lmm I am shocked that you didn't venture out to the Morgan three wheelers on the Sunday either. Some lovely cars including one celebrating its 100th birthday
I'm hoping to one day model the old colliery in Mansfield Woodhouse complete with a scale of my house which would of just been off colliery site, which guage I don't know for sure but leaning towards N as I have limited space in house lol great video and looking forward to next modular video.
very well done for not burning down the place or blowing all the fuses with your layout - or due to your part splitting in half you could not use it so everyone was safe? :p
@lmm I have been looking at a lot of it. I just can't decide on what I'd like to get. I'm thinking after i get the second layer put up on my layout then I'll be able to make a decision. The layout is pretty chaotic now to be honest lol
Is that your mini broken down by the level crossing on the first layout ? You tease 😂 I was certainly waiting to see the fruits of your weeks of stress…
So many 1950s early 60s layouts, again. Gets kind of boring. How about 1880s, or 1920s?. Edit: Oh there is an 1880s layout. I like that. It was good to see at least one modern (and I mean last 20 years, not just since abolition of steam (which is 56 years ago)) image layout. I’m not denying the skill of the layout builders but it’s all BR green diesels and big four locos in black drag.
And yes I know is harder. For example if you want NER push/pull you need to make both the loco and the coaches from kits at a minimum. A BTP tank loco and a couple of NER auto coaches.
I think it's a mix of what's available RTR and also what people remember as the 'good old days' Scole I tend to run as early 1949. Cause I like the BR early crest.
So Great meeting you at the show, thanks for taking the time to have a conversation with me!
You're welcome, thanks for coming over!
was amazing to see you there on Saturday
Thanks for coming over

Good evening Lawrence!! I wish I knew exactly where Statfold was. I might have gone to this exhibition.
It was great - there is a link to their website in the video description so you can find it in the future!

also a lot of what was for sale was second hand which I found some good deals but a lot things were broken or incomplete
As I said on Sunday you guys did really well. Congratulations to you all and I cannot wait to see the next iteration of the layout
Thank you very much!
Excellent footage and narration Lawrie, shame I missed this show
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderfully shot as always, with some very impressive layouts thank you for sharing.

Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels
Hi
Lovely, thanks for sharing👍
You're most welcome
You're such a tease. Great layouts but I wanted to see yours.
Coming up this week!
Went on Saturday, sorry I missed you
I was on our layout most of the day - next time!
I’ve been to Fairborne a lot and I love it, I thought it was based off of it!
It's a great layout and a super real life place
Nearly 100K !!! Rock on.
Getting scarily close!
Very nice.
Thank you very much!
TT was pretty popular behind the iron curtain.

Oh that sounds great!
Shame you didn't find the 009 layouts in the conference suite...
Yes, I'm disappointed neither of my camera guys got there
Once again the show falls on a weekend where I'm working the whole thing. Glad it was amazing though. Its definitely one to take my kid to.
It's a really good show - hopefully next year!
Was that mini with its bonnet up and hazards on timed at 2:46 on the video a LMM Easter egg sort of like a nod to mini you have? :)
Quite a few people asked if it was mine 😂
What’s the deal with the Sandy River coach???

Wait and see!
damn this looks really nice
Thank you
That layout is incredible. I have been looking at some things on LCuts website. I'm just not sure what i want yet.
Thank you!
Most of it! Plenty of good stuff
