Hey there from New Zealand/ Picked this clip up while having my Sunday morning coffee, a relaxing and interesting presentation of the event, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.
Was amazing meeting you and the LMM team on Saturday. Had an excellent day out here and really hope the model exhibition becomes an annual event to the Statfold Barn. Best one this year so far and is a fab place.
Thanks for posting this! It looks like it was a great show. I've been to many Canadian shows, but they're nowhere near as good as this one for someone who is interested primarily in British trains. That live steam was fantastic!
Absolutely magic Lawrie! It was an unhealthy amount of.... I want that.... I need that.... I must have that.... Keep up with the phenomenal work young man! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🍻
Thank you for letting us see Scole @ a model railway show Lawrie. I also enjoyed seeing all of the other layouts that you managed to film, it reminded me that I must make repairs to my layout as well.
Looks like it was a great show. It's a shame that we are so far away on the Isle of Skye. It was nice to hear your comments on Knowles Hill Colliery as it was my nephews first display event so he was a bit nervous. Super to see all the videos - keep them coming. Cheers, Mike
I have never heard of the Statfold Barn Railway even though I have had a lifelong interest in railways and only live about 30 miles from Tamworth. I did not know this show was on and am disappointed I missed it. Having said all that, your coverage of the entire event is excellent and I will make a point of visiting in the near future.
@@lmm Thanks very much for replying Lawrie to my comment. That's the great part about the hobby sharing ideas and learning new ideas from other people to improve our Channel's so l have like and subscribe to your channel too .Stay safe DD.
I've operated the Merstone/Ventnor West layout a few times before. Most enjoyable, but large modular layouts do need a lot of coordination between operators!
You know what would be a fun mini layout to do as a novelty for such events? A intercity 125 "police chase" layout based on that old british rail tv ad. Could just be an oval 2-track layout, with one straight visible and the rest being fiddle space. :p
I wish I was able to go there, I have always been a fan of mainly steam engines my whole life and train stuff in general, and the layout with the sand, I would have just sat there for hours controlling it
I went on the Saturday and after I talked to you I literally went to play on the big trains and qued have a go at driving Fiji which was a lovely loco to drive. I was also impressed with the other items and locomotives that Statfold had and the layouts were great to look at as well. Just a good shout could you do a Lawrie goes loco at the Cambrian Heritage Railways in Oswestry, as I have been there this easter Friday bank holiday and I was impressed with what they have already done being a new preserved railway and they need a bit more coverage to attract new volunteers and members. They have two Pacer units which could be a interesting loco to drive in a episode?
Funny that I got to drive my first real train Monday, which was a Dutch 08. NS 673 to be precise. It has a weird livery because it it stationed at the museum.
No matter which layout i look at, i always think that the modellers who go that extra mile by including train crews and or passengers when required, adds to that extra bit of realism. As , other than Docklands Railway in London, i know of no other rail company that manages to operate trains with no drivers or guards. If there are empty cabs and brake vans, or no passengers in evidence, then surely you have missed the point.
If you get chance to measure it that would be grand as looking to create something v similar. Does the hidden section contain just a headshunt or a sector plate?
May i ask, what scale is your small layout?, i thought to my self that it might be HO, but the models looked a tad bit bigger than HO, or was it the camera close up making em look bigger, im so confused hehe
God this makes me want to make a diorama of a snow layout. Hopefully I can start to make a small one in my tiny apartment soon
Snow is always a fun thing to model!
Looked like a brilliant event. Some cracking layouts.
It really was
I've always liked Scole, very nice little layout
Me too!

It's videos like this that make me wish I was in the UK so I could visit events, loved seeing some familiar faces and spectacular layouts.
It was a super weekend!
BR black looks good on the O8
Doesn't it just!

Skye is magnificent. Very jealous!
It was a great layout - a great show in all!

Great to see the CSR nlocos runnung again last time I saw them was at Lautoka Sugar Mill Fiji
Oh really? It's an amazing amount of work that's been done to them!

Oh next time you should come up and say hi! I did talk to loads of people!
I wish I was able to go there, I have always been a fan of mainly steam engines my whole life and train stuff in general, and the layout with the sand, I would have just sat there for hours controlling it
It was amazing to watch
Wow most excellent thanks Lowarie from the USA LI NY!!!!

I have been chatting to some of the people there, so hopefully.
Cheers for coming over to chat!

I’m 16 btw
That's a good achievement! Good going!

I always find with crew, if you work that engine backwards, with crew facing the wrong way, it looks worse than no crew at all
Snap on the 08. Same livery as well.
We are comment number 7.
Love David and Lily.
Obviously you have excellent taste!
Awesome video that grab crane is just amazing such a great channel
Isn't it brilliant!
Love the shot at 4:55!
Thank you!
7:48 - whoop whoop, I spy a Railway Mania Avonside!
Bout to check off that last item I see. Congratulations , I've got some other accounts I'll dust 'em off and sub.
Thank you very much, it obviously worked!
Where can we get plans for live stea steam HO gauge.?Loved the clip.
I have no idea I'm afraid
Thank you for the footage. Lovely live steam locos, I am wondering who makes them.
They're roundhouse I think, but modified
@@lmm thank you, I have figured it out - looks like the owner has added the back cover and the windows the cab
I had a go on Fiji on the Sunday
Nice thing isn't it
Great layout. Has Lawrie ever confirmed Scole’s dimensions (scenic & hidden part)?
It's not big 😂
If you get chance to measure it that would be grand as looking to create something v similar.
Does the hidden section contain just a headshunt or a sector plate?
My mate featured in the video he brought the wagons in at the start
He's a very good wagon carrier!
Lawrence do you think that you are ready to start building your own model railway empire now?
I just need some more space!
Can I ask what are the scenic board dimensions please?
May i ask, what scale is your small layout?, i thought to my self that it might be HO, but the models looked a tad bit bigger than HO, or was it the camera close up making em look bigger, im so confused hehe
The layout is O gauge or 7mm to the foot
@@geraldeade391 perfect, thank you
It's O, though it would be a small setup for HO 😂
Was that your younger brother operating the 03 and runaway wagon?
It was not - just a failed clone
@@lmm hahaha
Ah the invisible accordion...
I play it very well
👍🙏
👍
väl gjort Ularyd Strand :D
Thank you!
You are going to need to make some new shirts very soon.
The new limited edition one is now available!
I haven't long been watching you and I went to this event which means I didn't know who you were 🤦
Hay lawrie have y’all thought about using bbq charcoal briquettes for fuel in a steamer
They don't really produce enough energy to run something large
that's one.
And two?
🚂🚂😎😎😎👍
👍
Did you buy anything? 😁
I aquired a bus for the layout and a Brakevan!
Good to meat Lawrie and chatted to
Cheers for coming over
Oooh, did I get here first?
Looks like
That's not a model railway layout. It's a çardboard box with some toy train bits!
It's an very big and complex layout!
