The Walk - Animated Short Film

- ‘The Walk’ is the story of a man and his dog in the wilds of Scotland.
My team and I have spent the past year and a bit together bringing the film to life. Inspired by the Scottish highlands and motivated by the love of our dogs, we all worked incredibly hard on our film, and we hope you enjoy it!

@@aryanswonderworld3256 yeah wait 'til you have a house of your own. Its a bad idea to have a dog in an appartment especially if its a big one. You can start by learning about dogs, how thet react, how they should be treaten etc.
Me and my love have this dog that will always come to us when he visited me and I'm sad that he'll probably pass away just because of the condition he looks like he's going through and my love really loved that dog so hopefully we get to spend as much time together with that one dog😔😔

I am old, so have had several/many pets pass. Stayed with every one to the end. It IS hard, but they need you ! Also went to last vet visit with a couple, emotional, sons and their furbabies, which was VERY hard ! My current dog is a "spare" fur-grand puppy, because my son will take her back when I die, as she will surely outlast me.
Yes, but i would rather feel pain... atleast i get to take care of them until their last breath... i can’t bear the thought of them not having anyone to care for them when i’m gone...
It's honestly better that they don't outlive you. Imagine, they will feel as you abandoned them. They will wonder, where did you go? Will you ever come back? Is it something they did? We at least can move on most of the time. Pets though, a lot of them won't understand. I wouldn't want for my pets to go through that pain. Plus, where would they go? You can't be 100% certain they will be taken into a new good home.

Too many of us dog people, this story has happened many times already. So moving and so heart felt. Great work, and yes I am in tears. Remembering the past dogs that have left us already.

My dog zan was a great dan but I only had him for two weeks put he ran out of the house to are neighbors house and are neighbors hated zan then he was panting the old lady was in the way and scaped her arm just a little and the made a big scene we had to take away the dog it Been like years seens I last saw him put I still miss him🐾 p.s he was a great dan. 8 moth old

Oh, my, god... It got very dusty in here. I lost my old girl in August 2018, I've missed her every day since. But... In November my fiancee, brought me home a little Romanian Rescue Puppy. This is a brilliant little short film, i loved it...

I've had my new dog for almost a year now. It's still a little weird after 16 years with someone else.
I love her so much, but like...I had a wholeass almost-half of my life with my previous dog, and all those memories aren't alive in someone else anymore...it feels lonely carrying them all on my own.

Lost my Italian greyhound 3 years ago ,not a day goes by that i dont miss him!I have adopted a beautiful black greyhound beauty who has giving me my smile back!
This animatic perfectly portrayed my grief when I lost my best friend. I was Terribly sad, and barley talked to anyone after. Mum and dad adopted a puppy as a surprise. At first I was I little guilty, feeling like I replaced my original dog, but that’s not at all what it was. It was giving a new pup a home, and slowly moving on from the loss of karma. Well done animators. This is beautiful
I really love the style of animation to this. I like the way it's more of a modern version of classic 2D animation than the 3D stuff used in the modern media. As well as the fact it's a really nicely done short.

I lost my dog last month and my family had such a bond with him we came home and we didn’t see him then our neighbors called they said they had him we all smiled in joy and then they said he’s gone and our smiles changed. This short film really touched my heart ♥️
That just goes to show, that every walk for a dog will have long lasting memories in it ❤😪❤
i love this animation, I came across this animated short film through my curiousity to start with animation myself to see what it was like and through seeing this animation it inspired me even more to start with animation. i love the short film, it was able to bring me to tears. Just knowing that through that first dog the couple met eachother and fell in love. Really great work, can't wait for the next one to arrive! Keep up the amazing work!

Time my break down our bodies, but what connects us is unbreakable.
It's kinda like when I lost my dog when I was maybe 15. I cried a lot. He passed away in my arms. It was where he wanted to be before we went to the rainbow bridge to heaven to watch over me.

This really touched me. My dog recently passed away at the age of 17 she was there for most of my life, I’m 21 now. Similar to the video she also saw me get married a few months ago. It’s so hard to say goodbye. So was really touched by this video...
Beautiful and very close to my experience. Years, decades really, of walking in the woods, and a couple of dogs over the years. Losing them never gets easier. And getting another is always a joy... However I've never met anyone particular and it's always just me and the dog.
This made me think of my own dog who passed away a year ago.
He was a black lab husky, he have been more then he was husky but once he got barking you could tell that his bark was no lab bark.

for some reason at the end of the video, i just bursted into tears about a pet that i had lost several years ago. during that time when i lost him i was going through a lot already, so i didn’t really get to grieve. he was this fluffy ginger cat i adopted, he used to be a stray. i had him since i was seven, and he was with me all the time. he was one of my comforts growing up, as at the time my mother had cancer and our family was poor. i lost him when i was thirteen, and now four years later i suddenly feel really sad about it. he was honestly a really special cat to our family, he was extremely empathetic for a cat as weird as that sounds. the year i lost him i was very mentally ill and i didn’t realize the situation of him starting to shut down due to old age, and i’ve always regretted not grieving appropriately for him when he died. sorry for rambling, i know it may be annoying. thank you for this wonderful animation, you all obviously worked hard and it shows.

I paused the vedio just after seeing the photograph of the man n his dog...n started reading the comments coz I can't bear if something happens to the dog or the owner too, coz dogs feel pain if they r hurt n much more when their owner is hurt n seeing this hurts me more...May God heal the heart of those pets who miss their owners n those people out there who miss their pets🍁

We've almost always had a dog (and many other pets) at home. Each can never replace another but it's better than the emptiness left by their parting.

My dog, Chase, had to be euthanized due to a cancerous tumor we hadn’t seen till it was too late. I didn’t realize how much I would miss him until he was already gone. I miss him so much, I don’t even have his leash anymore. I can barely remember his bark when he was happy.
Dogs make life worth living.
My dog Bentley had severe health conditions when he was first born. His mother whilst she was pregnant had worms, and when Bentley was born he had one inside of him that was bigger than him. He has extremely bad stomach issues now. He sits and stares at the ground for minutes at a time after his stomach growls or he burps, which we assume is because his stomach hurts, we're sure he's to go blind much sooner, and he's most likely going deaf. He turned 7 in November and honestly it's getting pretty scary, watching his black patches turn grey.
His sister has gained extreme weight after her hysterectomy and she can't lose it easily, despite being given minimal treats, plenty of time to run around and weight loss foods. Her most recent vet check had the vet assuming she was older than she was, and without losing weight she'll die young too.
Honestly watching this has me terrified of how life will be without them. I've grown up with them and love them with all my heart, and it kills me to even consider not having them around.
OMGosh! The feels! I'm still crying. The beautiful story of the man's friendship with his beloved puppy (all dogs are puppies to me) is just so heart warming and if definitely hit home for me. Even though it's been 6yrs since we've had to say goodbye to my sisters furbaby Spencer, it seems like yesterday when we talk or think about him. To the creators of this beautiful short, you did an amazing job! Thank you!

I lost my dog a couple days ago. He was a blind goofball who found me later in his life. I tried to capture it but never could, but he had this shadow that was something straight out of a cartoon. It would bob up and down as he walked, tail waving wildly as his half mast ears bounced and his tongue hung from his open mouth. Looked like one of those happy dogs you see in older cartoons that just got a new bone. Unfortunately I never did capture it and now he's gone. This popped up in my feed earlier today. The dust has not yet settled but it still hurts.
I'm on my first dog ever. I've not gone through the loss of my own, yet, but knowing that day will come absolutely terrifies me.

The only thing capable of breaking me is loosing my dog and watch these types of films if I knew how it was going to end I wouldn't have watched it I'm sorry I'm still grieving the loss of my dog that was poisoned in 2017
One of the good things that has come from this film is a lot of people have shared the same grief to us. I lost my dog this year after finishing this film so it struck quite hard. Having them in your life is worth the heartache though and giving them a good life is what it’s about!

This is me, my husband, and our cat that he got when he was a teenager. He was the first cat to love me back, and he’s the sweetest boy. But he’s pretty old and has crystals, twice now we’ve had to send him into surgery to unblock his bladder. I hope we get at least a couple more years with him

A friend of mine had a large black lab, but when you got to know him, he was no longer considered a dog, but a friend. When the dog, Bear, died, it wasn't just my friend who cried, but I did too.
I dont even know why i bother watching these. they all end up exactly the same every time.
No matter how hard i try, it always ends with me bawling my eyes out.

I cried. A lot. So much memories... I had dogs almost the last 25 years. And I miss my friends who had gone. Happyness and lonelyness. Who are here and who had gone. Is a strange mix of feelings. Other dogs don't replace who passed away, but always brings joy to my soul. I love animals. ❤
