It certainly IS lovely 😍 I myself find the 2nd movement of Bach's double violin concerto, and the second movement of Shostakovich's 2nd piano concerto to be even more beautiful 😉
Oh yes, I do agree.... it is sensational and so few people actually know about it. Bizet, along with Mozart and Schubert were taken from us far too early - much to our eternal sadness.
Wow - A whole lot of Beethoven in this symphony. ...after investigating I found he (Bizet) wrote this as a study of Beethoven's style and did not want it published and it was not published until after his death.
He actually wrote it as a 17 year old as an assignment at the Paris Conservatory of Music. His teacher never graded it. It is likely his teacher never even looked at it. Or he did, and hid it away, hoping to take credit for it, but in his old age, forgot where he had hidden it (in a desk). That is my friend Wally's theory. But... who knows really. This is an utter masterpiece.
I read it was a composition assignment for school. He didn't even want to do it. So, for a shortcut, he copied the program regarding exposition, development and resolution from a symphony composed by his instructor. Then all he needed was a melody that matched the meter of the original and the symphony wrote itself. I had never listened to it from the Beethoven angle before, but I can hear it now.
It's lovely but it's not a song. Songs are sung (usually. except Songs without words). By singers. (It's all the fault of RUclips, Spotify etc.__ It's a Symphony. Best wishes from East Anglia in England.
@@DAVEDIKIAN As non-English myself, I can confirm that calling this a "song" is a grave error. There is no song. The writer is using a pop music dialect to describe this piece.

This is a symphony that we rarely hear. And it seems that over the days we discover it. And to say that Georges Bizet never played it in public. Why, mystery of shyness or music too elaborate for its time. also, magnificent, beautiful interpretation, I am thrilled, transported. Thanks aviost of this sharing, since the time I seek this symphony.
I believe Bizet never published this symphony because it resembled his - Charles Guonod - mentor's Symphony in D. He was embarrassed and so withheld it from the public. It wasn't until 1935 that this symphony premiered.
He was just seventeen years old. It was a piece of homework. It was never performed in his lifetime. Thank goodness it was discovered when it was, in the 1930s
Imagine that-those Turks can really play classical music. Well, I guess they can do anything, as they once had one of the greatest empires in history, that extended into Asia, Africa and Europe. Marvelous performance.
I've heard this symphony, that Bizet wrote being only 17 y.o., since I was a child. This oeuvre reminds me of Beethoven style. But, as I don't have RUclips Premium, in middle of first movement, I was warned that publicity would appear after 5, 4, 3, 2, 1" and it was abruptly interrupted. Incredible.
Very nice. Solid orchestra! (Though I do miss the usual European orchestra visuals: The older-than-dirt white-haired fella on violin; the unassuming "housewife" looking woman on clarinet; the mega-hott Asian chick on violin; and the fruity percussionist.)

the second movement, so lyrical and floating on clouds. Part lullaby, part ballet pas de deux. Excellent performance. Very sensitive and clean.

At seventeen years old, genius.
I agree100%
my favourite classical music moment of all time... tied with the second movement of Prokofiev 1st symphony
Oboe solo realy touches my heart
It is exquisite!
My teachers choreographed to some of this symphony when I was a youth ballerina. Imagine! Soaring with this music. Grateful for Bizet.
Bizet turned seventeen years old and thought - what now? I know, I’ll write a symphony
Mon Dieu ! C'est superbe. Merci au Hautboiiste un chef-d'oeuvre. Daisy Cler
Bizet wrote this masterpiece at seventeen years old!
They are all so humble in gracious.

Beautiful oboe solo in the Adagio.

Those three repetitive notes. Genius. He wrote this masterpiece shortly after his seventeenth birthday

Well thank goodness it was finally discovered. Better late than never. 3:42
Love this song. Played it in my youth symphony in high school.
Diane Sheafor do you still perform? I’m attending a concert Saturday night in Illinois where this wii be performed
Sorry I'm not english but why do call this a''song' for it's a symphony with no vocal parts ?
Diane Sheafor song???? Oh, my Goodness!

Bravo from California.
Even the conductor looks a little like bizet❣, what a great symphony.

They are all so incredible.
Para mim, toda a Sinfonia é bela e maravilhosa, salientando, no entanto, o Terceiro e o Quarto andamentos. Do melhor em música clássica.

Takes the repeat in the 1st mvt: bravo!
I Allegro vivo 00:13 - 10:57
II Andante: Adagio 11:08 - 21:25
III Scherzo: Allegro vivace 21:41 - 27:10
IV Finale: Allegro vivace 27:22 - 36:21
Unbelievable
Exquisite masterpiece.
A thoroughly lovely performance of a VERY tricky piece, especially for the first violins.
Last movement wouldn't tricky without the speed
One my favourites .
I enjoyed Ostrowki's conducting so much.

This is not the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra as listed, it is a Turkish Orchestra.
Does anyone else think the bassoonist looks like he's PO'd at 2:35 ?
Maybe he hates the oboist - or something.
Great symphony.
Nope. He's just bored
Wonderful and a really great maestro, only the first violin are so dirty

I like this orchestra! Not sure where they are from?
Turkey.
Greetings from East Anglia in England
It's an University orchestra.
anyone else here because of your assigned artist?
I feel Beethoven in that all notes are well organized in the third movement.
I agree with you
881😢😊
I'm sorry, but I find this a tad flat-footed, especially the third movement. Where is the joy of the seventeen year old who wrote it? Fixable.
34:17 That person on the balcony waving his arms is very distracting
That's who was actually doing the conducting, you imbecile!
Un trésor caché...
enfin à l écoute.
