There's an api in the works that should allow for the active pedals to dynamically change the amount of pressure needed, and the throw based on the car you're driving, for all three pedals.
Now imagine a sim that also considers part wear and heating etc to alter the feedback 🤤. Imagine NFS underground 2 or most wanted customisation, but each part changes the behaviour of the car and feedback. Future sure is exciting for us sim racers 😁.
Yep. I talked about that in my review. It’s a big part of the reason why I chose to buy the two extra pedals. I want to be able to stay at the forefront of this stuff as it develops. :)
It looks like to me that you could use some sort of soft dampening behind the last part of the pedal as it seems that metal ring is hitting and making the loud noise, but true that Simucube could of addressed it.
I have the HE Sprints. Thinking about getting the Simucube active brake. Thoughts on just replacing my HE brake pedal? I’m not sure how the mounting would work as I see the Simucube brake is quite large.
How does the Sprints clutch and gas pedal connect to the PC without first being connected to the Sprints brake? Isn't that cabling setup somewhat proprietary?
I wish we had a Micro center here in Seattle but all I can do is look at it online. I do have the the first version of the CSL Elite and it works fine for sim racing. I have never had a chance to try other people's products and see and feel the difference.
It's kinda wild we haven't gotten one considering we're such a techy city. Doesn't even need to be in Seattle proper, just accessible from there. I'm sure we'd all be fine making pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
Maybe I'm missing something, but whats the benefit of using a load cell to measure the accelerator position when in reality what matters is not the pressure but only the angle? Real cars afaik use potentiometers or Hall effect sensors so I dont understand why having anything different on the sim, a load cell just feels like a more expensive choice with no benefits (and maybe even drawbacks?).
Do you think there is a way to rig up a do it yourself modification to dampen the noise of the pedal? Good information in this video. Well done as always.
Great video as always Will. I was one of the first to try the active pedal at Nuremburg sim expo back in 2022. I knew within minutes of trying a throttle and brake setup that the throttle feedback was nonsense, it just felt so unnatural. The ABS feeling though was a different story so i’m totally aligned with your opinions on that. Regarding the noisy passive pedal, I think if you stuck a foam washer in front of the teflon piece and one on the throw adjuster that might do the job? Worth a quick mock up to see what you think. Regards, Pete

Will, thanks for the review. Are you getting your best lap times with the AP brake and either passive or AP throttle? Compared to other pedals you have?
My lap times are pretty much the same between all the high end pedals we have here. My skill is the limiting factor and will be for most people with hardware at this level.
Will, then my question would be - for a first sim rig doesn’t even make sense to get the Simucube AP brake and passive throttle even if one can afford it OR just go with reputable load cell pedals? Thanks.
Given Simucube has adapters available for the Heusinkveld Sprint pedals to not only mount, but even communicate through their software, what do you think about this throttle vs the Sprint? Basically the two options there for a 3-pedal setup would be to get the 2-pedal Simucube and the Sprint add-on clutch pedal, or to get the full Sprint set along with the single ActivePedal. You'd be wasting the Sprint brake in that case, but given the cost of the Simucube throttle, it's not all that much more expensive.

Ive been eyeing up the sc2 pro for a few YEARS but i always kinda think what if i buy it now for that huge price and then they bring out a newer version.
