How To Sew Stretchy Round Neckline T Shirt | Finished Neckband Perfectly
#thuysewing #howtosewroundneckline #sewstretchyneckline #neckbands #sewing #diy - Хобби
I have always been tearing my head out every time when I have to sew a neckband and it never works. Last night it took me more than two hours (until 1:30am in Sydney) and I failed again. This morning I woke up - first thing was to watch your video. I must tell you how glad I am as I have just finished sewing a perfect neckband. Hurrays!
Thanks so much, Thuys!
en serio???
Thank you. I like how you added the tape inside the neck . It gave it a professional finish that home made tees many times lack, plus it would be comfortable to wear.
Умница , профессионально !!!
Thank you for commenting this so I know why she put tape there. I like this video a lot, it's very well filmed and it lets us follow along all the details, but I wouldn't mind more explanations. For instance with the position of the neckline; why put the seam a little above the right shoulder?
@@saravanroosbroeck5414 that struck me as unusual as well!
Hi, do you have a pattern for this I can download?
@@saravanroosbroeck5414 Hi, there won't be double layers of seams on top of each other,
My first attempt at a neckline was a disaster but having found your video I will try and follow your procedures. I have just taken up sewing and have only made two pyjama pants and thought a sleeveless t- shirt would be easy. Not easy for me, you make it look simple. Cheers from Australia.
Wow so awesome I always fit binding and den sew it u MD it so easy
I have used this for my first tkme sewing a neck and it has worked great!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for this...i had no idea how to sew a neckline but now i'm quietly confident😍
I think any type of clothes are safe in u r hands.....like ....how a baby is safe in the hands of its own mother......😍👍
Really fantastic ...Never felt it was tutorial .. profesional output ..
You make everything look so easy, simply brilliant ,thank you for knowledge and tips & tricks 😊
Muito interessante, parabéns
Wow....great! I stucked sometimes when sewing strechy fabric. Could you share some tricks?
Just finished putting in a neck band with the help of this video... I'm new to sewing with knits.. Very helpful!
Hey! Do you know what kind of fabric can be used as a neck band ?
@@sousalucas6248 rib like band fabric
@@sousalucas6248anything with some elastane, usually 92- 95%cotton with 8-5% elastane. If you use swimwear, sports or lycra fabric than you will have 10 or 15% elastane. It depends what you do. The neckband is always 85% smaller than the circumference of the neck opening of the T shirt.
Que trabalho lindo.Perfeitoooo.
Eres una gran experta en todo lo de la confección y patronaje gracias

Lovely results. You made it look so simple. I took notes as a reference for my next project. Thank you for sharing.
This was really a good and helpful video. Not long with all that talking, the music was simple and you got straight to the point 🎉
Can I ask how it was able to keep stretching even with a straight stitch around the neckline?
She stretches the fabric out slightly as she's sewing.
Hi Thuy! thank you for this beautiful video!! May I ask what sort of stitch you use? because I've been seeing that most places recommend a lightning or zigzap stitch to assemble... but the single line stitch looks so much neater!
It looks neater until it pops! I don't know why she is sewing a stretchy knit fabric with a single line stitch but it won't last if the fabric is pulled at all (like when you're putting it on over your head). Not recommended.
really useful tutorial thanks! This is a total side note i'm loving the first bit of background music - it's giving strong fleetwood mac vibes.
Excelente, muy bien y Felicitaciones. 👍👍👍de Peru 🇵🇪

@@Thuysewing from where can I get the tape
Love how you used the strip of stabelizer to keep the material from slipping inder the presser foot!
Great tutorial, I'll try the tape next time. Until now I thought it can only be done with serger. Are you using standard stich with the paper strip or elastic one? Keep it up 👍
Standard stitch!
Wonderful...i like your videos too much.

Very high quality Neckline T shirt.
Du machst die besten Videos, die es im Netz übers nähen gibt! Herzlichen Dank dafür!
Einfach perfekt!
Manchmal hätte ich eine Frage.. Kann ich diese auch auf deutsch stellen?
Liebe Grüße 🙋♀️
Great work!
Very neat work
the Neck tape is added to prevent the fabric from stretching out and lose the shape in 2 way stretch fabric, Notice if it was a 4 way stretch spandex type fabric this is not needed, beacause that farbrice type wont lose its shape while stretching.
to make your construction even better You should use your neck tape from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, this way the shoulder seam wont stretch out over time, as the added weight from the sleeves will make them do otherwise. so start it 0.5" from the shoulder , go around the neckline thenfinish it 0.5" from the other shoulder.
If you have no sleeves it is not needed.
molly pikalizus, good to know. Thanks for the tip. By the way, what type of tape is it?
You guys are so godly. I need to learn to sew
What type of tape is it? Does it have a specific type or name?
Thanks for this tutorial l love the neatness
Tq... I been looking for the tutorial.. ❤️
thank you! really helpfull!
Thank you for this. Very clean and easy to follow!
How many dishes you can do?
@@ngoctramhuynh4398 what?
Genial ,es un papel para coser fácil la tela?
Que capricho😍🇧🇷🙏
You are a wonderful instructor! I have a question though - I thought all stretchy knits had to be sewn with zigzag stitch or only overlocker otherwise the stitches would break when you stretch the shirt over your head. How come the straight stitches don't pop on the collar?? I love my straight stitch machine - I would LOVE to only use that for all my sewing!!
I have the same question!
Me too.... I just don't get it! Your skills are superb!!
They might be using a stretchy thread. I use gutterman Maraflex thread on my straight stitch machine when sewing stretch knits and it works amazing. No popped stitches despite a toddler pulling them on and off roughly 😄hope this helps you too!
@@dyeitb1ack I’m so impressed!!! I must try this. Do you maraflex for both needle thread and the bobbin thread?
Perfect..thank you.🌹
❤❤❤❤ your work
