Another lovely wander around sparkling London! Thank-you, from Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦. My understanding is that the Trafalgar Square tree is an annual gift to England from Norway and that’s their traditional lights. This year’s tree does look a bit spindly though. Our experience has always been that the National Gallery general collection is free admission. There are donation boxes if you’re so inclined. Happy holidays, Hannah!

Hannah, nicely done as always. I must say Covent Garden really lends to the flavor of the holidays because it just has the Dickens ambiance to it. I didn't realise Trafalgar Square had a market this year. I'm taking my grandson for a tour of the lights on Monday so will definitely go there after Covent Garden. Great vlog!

Hi Hannah, Its the Norway tradition to hang the lights in a downward direction, rather than wrapped around the tree as we normally do it. In recent years I have thought the tree’s they send us have looked rather sad, and threadbare. I understand they had considered sending a replacement this year, as so many people complained. There is also the Christmas Market in Leicester Square, so Southbank, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square all in fairly close proximity.

The Christmas tree in Trafalagar Sq has it's lights in the fashion it does (draped vertically) because that's the Norwegian tradition. Norway supplies the tree of course. As for chocolates , the finest , I have ever had are from Hansens chocolate shop. A small chocolateer in Folkingham in Lincolnshire. The village is on the A15, on the way up to Sleaford and Lincoln. They are in a league of their own, and make alledged premium brands seem very run of the mill. Highly recomended. As is Lincoln Christmas market, held every year in Lincoln. It basically takes over the entire old Town. usually between 2 to 300 stalls. Just some ides, and maybe food for thought. Happy Christmas.

London is so pretty at Christmas time, so many things going on. I miss it, haven't been in 11 years after I used to live there. Hopefully I'll be able to go back in the next couple of years. OMG I didn't know London had Shake Shack, yum!

Happy New Year Hannah! Binging some of your vlogmas today since i was busy during December. But, super interesting how you said London isn't great for xmas markets. But, I would trust you as a Londoner:). I sooooo want to go to London for xmas time one day- i studied there in the Spring one year but haven't experienced it during the holidays. As for the markets my favorite thing about them really is the food. I just wish they didn't sell so much tourist crap- there's enough tourist stores for those things.
I enjoyed this vlog, but can I say I had seen some negative comments about the Christmas tree from Norway, and I think they were right. Perhaps a bad year for trees in Norway?

Hi Hannah,
Its the Norway tradition to hang the lights in a downward direction, rather than wrapped around the tree as we normally do it. In recent years I have thought the tree’s they send us have looked rather sad, and threadbare. I understand they had considered sending a replacement this year, as so many people complained.
There is also the Christmas Market in Leicester Square, so Southbank, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square all in fairly close proximity.

The Christmas tree in Trafalagar Sq has it's lights in the fashion it does (draped vertically) because that's the Norwegian tradition. Norway supplies the tree of course. As for chocolates , the finest , I have ever had are from Hansens chocolate shop. A small chocolateer in Folkingham in Lincolnshire. The village is on the A15, on the way up to Sleaford and Lincoln. They are in a league of their own, and make alledged premium brands seem very run of the mill. Highly recomended. As is Lincoln Christmas market, held every year in Lincoln. It basically takes over the entire old Town. usually between 2 to 300 stalls. Just some ides, and maybe food for thought. Happy Christmas.

London is so pretty at Christmas time, so many things going on. I miss it, haven't been in 11 years after I used to live there. Hopefully I'll be able to go back in the next couple of years. OMG I didn't know London had Shake Shack, yum!

Happy New Year Hannah! Binging some of your vlogmas today since i was busy during December. But, super interesting how you said London isn't great for xmas markets. But, I would trust you as a Londoner:). I sooooo want to go to London for xmas time one day- i studied there in the Spring one year but haven't experienced it during the holidays. As for the markets my favorite thing about them really is the food. I just wish they didn't sell so much tourist crap- there's enough tourist stores for those things.
I enjoyed this vlog, but can I say I had seen some negative comments about the Christmas tree from Norway, and I think they were right. Perhaps a bad year for trees in Norway?
yeah, let's hope next year is better!
