The methodology of baptism should not be strictly be confined to immersion because the Bible used the word baptism in a number of situations which do not involve immersion. A typical example is the Holy Spirit baptism which involves the coming of the Holy Spirit on believers which does not involve immersion. The second example is the case where Peter stated in 1 Peter 3.20-21 that the rain water which fell on Noah's Ark symbolises baptism.
Also, in Ezekiel 36. 25-28, God said he will sprinkle clean water on his people to cleanse them and give them new heart and spirit. This is seen as a prophecy to the issue of baptism in the New Testament. The use of the" Baptiso" etymology to confine baptism to immersion is therefore not a strong argument. It is also worth noting that there is a school of thought that baptism is from a Greek word called "Baptisma" which means to cleanse and this is more closer to baptism than Baptiso which means to dip. Even though proponents baptism by immersion do so to symbolise the death burial and resurrection of Jesus. This symbolism is not obligatory because Jesus died above the ground on the cross and was buried in a tomb which is also above the ground.. He then resurrected above the ground from the tomb to show himself to the disciples.

    Act 8 v14-17
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

I did read this scripture and I am confused now because of the scriptures below:
Matthew 28:Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Acts 8 says only in the name of Jesus 😪😪😪

@@benedictmdluli3306 Okay let me help you out. If you study the four gospel books carefully, you’d realize that anytime Jesus prayed, He would pray directly to God, the Father. Because, while Jesus walked on the face of the earth, His dependence was on God. But after His resurrection and ascension, He was given the total mandate by God to be the protocol and channel of the Heavenly access!
When you read Colossians 1:3-20, you’d understand how Jesus’ name has become enough for the believer!
In the verse 19 and 20
of the chapter 1 particularly, it says “
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,
20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”
So as long as Jesus is seated at the right hand of God in Heaven, after completing the purpose for which He came on earth, when you mention the name of Jesus, it’s as powerful as mentioning the name of God and the Holy Spirit. Because the totality of God has been trapped in Him.
Hence, when you read through the book of Acts, you’d realize they mostly preached and performed signs and wonders in the name of Jesus. Therefore, the name of Jesus is enough for the New Testament believer!
      Stay blessed!

This is what happens when school makes you a preacher, understand that school don't produce preachers but students. He can't even understand himself yet he wants the audience to understand him.

Because the thief was under the old covenant water baptism wasn't necessary for him to be saved.
Water baptism is part of the born again process and God didn't allow man to be born again yet until Acts 2:38.

@@zenanibrian8722 Water baptism is the new covenants antitype of the olc covenants' type of the cleansing of the temple by blood ,and through water, in preparation for the " temple", our bodies' now, to be inhabited by the Holy Spirit.

Neither the thief nor Jesus went to Paradise that day. Both went to hell. When Jesus defeated satan, he freed those who were chosen under the old covenant including the thief and they went to heaven.

Water baptism happens because someone has been saved. Water baptism doesn't save.
The recent coronation happened because Charles is now the King. The coronation didn't make Charles the King. Charles became the King when his mother - Queen Elizabeth the Second - died.
A coronation for William or George would be nonsense as neither of them are King.
