I wonder how the "Liars Cradle" will react with "Lucky".
I wonder if the "lucky" can just get all the answers right purely by luck and pissed off the Liars Cradle.
The way Lucky's power works, I feel like if they put him in the Liar's Cradle and had him spout out sayings, he would survive, but someone else in the building would burn to death.
Part of me wonders if the Liar's Cradle would still be fed in that instance, or if the burned person needs to be inside it in order for it to eat them.
The Liars cradle would probably Bend its own rules

Since there was a d class who managed to get statements all considered true by Liar's Cradle this means Lucky could have stolen the d class' luck and gotten the true statements for himself. Or even if this occurred after the fact it would just happen again where Lucky gets true statements over someone else and if it wasn't possible some other event would cause Lucky to be safe from interacting with Liar's Cradle.

That line of questioning about it being hungry and wanting to kill him and hating that all the answers were true so he couldnt was the scariest part. Seemed almost sentient and there in the moment, rather than some ancient artifact imbued with knowledge from its creators who predetermined all the answers. I hope im making sense here totally fucking terrifying
agree 100%, the whole time i was thinking what the d class must’ve been feeling, knowing it wanted to burn him so badly and could at any moment. really creepy stuff. dr bob’s easily in the top 3 scp channels on youtube.
If there is one thing that is perhaps objectively good to take away from the Liar's Cradle, is that it plays by it's own rules straight to the hilt. As much as it may *want* to burn someone to ash, if a lie isn't told, it won't.
That said, while it might not break the rules, it definitely seems willing to bend them if you give it the wiggle room to do so.
Pretty sure the thing is sentient. How else could it decide to interpret ‘earth’ to mean ‘dirt’ instead of the planet?

We could potentially use the Liar's Cradle to quickly determine many answers as to what SCP-055 isn't since if a D-Class would say it for example "isn't blue", and gets incinerated, we would know that it is in fact blue.
But what happens when you ask the Liar's Cradle a question about something just about everyone forgets?

The issue with 055 isn't not knowing what it is, it's Forgetting what it is. Any test like that would be pointless because the test results would cease to exist and noone would remember them. That's even if researchers can remember 55 long enough to set up and get clearance for the test
Or they could see if 682 is truly indestructible by saying "SCP-682 can be permanently neutralized".
Incineration? No real point in trying to destroy 682 anymore, so they can stop wasting resources trying.

The Ethics committee has an insane level of control over the Foundation but even they know that some sacrifices have to be made. That said they're always the sacrifices that MUST be made. They never allow the Foundation to cross lines from being pragmatic to being needlessly cruel.

The initial priest using the cradle to burn people seemed sadistic. By the end of the video, using people to ask this thing questions didn’t seem all that crazy. Incinerating a person to find out if it thinks hotdogs are sandwiches was just plain funny to me.

Dr. Bob on the other hand is awesome and he actually puts effort in his content. Dr. Bob imo is the best scp animator on RUclips because no other channel made me addicted to scp videos like his.
Your voice, delivery, and choice to start with tales before the file makes your SCP videos feel like a history channel show, it really sets your videos apart from other SCP channels. Great work

Being honest, It's just an overcomplicated brazen bull. The brazen bull was a hollow bronze statue that a person would be put into. A fire was then lit under the victim.
The fact that they could say something comedically hilarious and then it follows with "they were instantly incinerated" has got to be the most sporadically hilarious thing I've ever heard.
Not only did the liar's cradle intentionally misinterpret earth as meaning soil, there's also a possibility that it's a technicality because the earth does have mountains and valleys. It's not perfectly round, but rather lumpy.
If you think about it, it’s still true that earth is not round. The oceans are constantly shifting and being pulled by gravity or the magnetic poles so that it technically makes it oval. And if you really think about it, there are so many gaping holes on the surface, where all the water is
On a planetary scale, bumps and craters would register on earth as imperfections on a pool cue ball would register on you.
Because of the moon's gravitational pull, the earth is actually wider at the equator than at the poles making it a slight oval shape so it is technically true.
I feel a better question could've been "the earth is spherical"

I wonder if "The Earth is round" could've also been that Earth is not completely round but ever so subtly and slightly an ellipsoid due to the centrifugal force from Earth's rotation.

I get the feeling that the guy who made the SCP wiki article for the liars cradle was inspired by the brazen bull. They’re both brass, bull-like structures you put people in, and said people suffer a burn-related death. Although the brazen bull is a more agonizing death, the liar’s cradle is probably a lot more psychologically taxing, knowing any sentence you say could be your last.

Maybe, but that depends on if 055's anti-memetic effects extend to information obtained by sources other than direct observation, and on if the Liar's Cradle is affected by 055's effects itself.
I don’t understand how this episode doesn’t have so many more views. This is one of the most fascinating SCPs to date IMO.

Is it just me or does it really seem like the Spanish Inquisition aren't all that bad in the SCP universe. This isn't the only horrible SCP destroyed by them after all.

The more mundane religious groups on the whole seem pretty on the level in the SCP universe. I mean the they even band together into groups like The Horizon Initiative when they come to terms of "look I don't really love your message but at least you don't want to turn everyone into flesh monsters".

The high priest and torturers’ models remind me of Mozgus and executioners from Berserk, perhaps unintentional, but I love the series and it’s nice to see the shoutout to those Crazed Worshipper
