Mia... Mia... Mia... you continue to amaze! I first met Pam Tillis when she was singing backup for her Dad, Mel Tillis, and his great band The Statesiders back in the 1970's. She toured with him for quite awhile, then got her own record deal, and the hits started pouring in during the 1990's. She's had some awesome musicians in her band over the years... Now you are one of them! Pam Tillis is one of the nicest female country singers around. Back in the day she was married to legendary Nashville songwriter Bob DiPiero, who has tons of country hits recorded. You absolutely aced that show girl, and made a HUGE Connection in Country Music. Congrats … I'm really proud for you!
@@bamamoondog9039 everybody so to speak has musical talent. Many sit on a 5 gallon bucket in the street. Mia has it all going on. Kind of amazing to watch actually.
That's pretty cool that you got to see her come up. She still sounds and plays great and was very kind to me while expecting me to be a pro. I love that!

Wow! It must be an unreal experience to leave school on a Friday then go perform on a weekend for a country legend like thee Pam Tillis. Your name is getting around to the stars around town.
I've had a pretty rough couple years in my life. And as I'm passing into a much better place...I find the music you do, and awesomely well, Mia has been a real treat. You are so gifted and simply a genuine person. I am positive that you are going to have some great shows when you tour...and I'm eager to see one of your shows! Thanks for sharing!
Wow! What a great opp and experience playing with Pam Tillis! Another rung on the ladder! And the stick incident just shows how well you handle things live. Super job Mia!
:) handling the unexpected definity is an important thing. I've had some way more serious potential train wrecks on stage with various artists and it's sometimes a wild ride to get everyone on the same page. Absolutely part of a good drummers job IMO!
You've just joined a list of about two dozen music legends who started their own careers backing Pam. In a couple more years, your accountants will be writing those busted sticks off as a business expense. So, so happy for you Mia! Funny thing isn't it? We can fake landing a man on the moon; but still haven't figured a way to keep drumsticks from breaking. Thanks for sharing + have a gr8t weekend!

Thank you Jeff. :D She didn't hesitate to push me in practice which I was all for. She's gone through a few drummers and I'm going to learn a lot more from artists like that about how to do that job.
I was pretty stoked to get to see you play this show live. You did awesome, even as your rods were flying apart! I was like "Holy Crap" and you just smiled at the guitar player and kept going. You're a pretty cool cookie under pressure Neighbor and that quality will serve you very well in this career you've chosen. Hey MIA!! I think that you getting a gig with Pam Tillis is a really big deal! I love Pam ; specially Maybe It Was Memphis and Mi Vida Loca!! Congratulations and well deserved! Thanks for the Vlog and keep on ROCKIN', split a stick and all that jazz! LOL🎵🥁💖🔥🎵👏👏👏👏
Hi Mia, you must be so excited to be playing with Pam Tillis and some of her band. I’m so very proud of you !! You have worked hard to get here Mia, thanks for sharing. ❤️brian
well thank you very much. I tried to be totally pro throughout the rehearsals and show because I'd love to play with any of the people involved. It was a blast :)
Mia, Great job as always. When the stick broke apart in the beginning of the video I though, 'Did I see what I think I saw?' Then when it actually happened I thought the same thing you did, 'Yep, that just happened.' Lol. You and the guitar player were the only ones who knew about it. Your reaction was priceless too. But what makes you a great musician is not only your talent, but the way you react to situations like a broken drum stick. I also really love your humble attitude about your talent. You keep wondering why all these top performers are asking you to play with them and it's for the simple reason that you're talented and professional and you have a great personality. Oh and by the way, don't sweat the social studies test, you won't need that being a musician in the real world.
That's very nice of you to say and I don't take any of these calls for granted. I do everything I can to be a pro because it's amazing how one thing, one musician, leads to others in this town. I want to work - I'm happy to do this work!
Another great look into your world Mia! "Shake the sugar tree" was the soundtrack to my summer the year it came out. Not because I particularly liked the song, the girl I was seeing did. I remember waking up to it and falling asleep to it.......for months and months...lol. At the 2:30 mark in your vid I about had a heart attack. The shaker thingy on your left foot looked disturbingly like the infamous sock monkey of years past! Once again, we're all proud of you, as your rise to superstardom continues...(what's up with dropping the sticks? I know you weren't doing stick tricks on Pam's time. Although I think it would be awesome if you did🥁....ha)
I'm getting more and more gigs so these vlogs look like better and better.. so, it's sort of true but it also means I don't have to put the crappy ones in my videos - HA! (i played a xmas tree lighting in a coat the other day...)
Congratulations Mia. How exciting. You are an amazing musician yourself. I'm proud of you. Dont forget when you play Mohegan sun or foxwoods in Ct, I would like tickets. You are doing such big things at such a young age. I'm sure you are going to make it. You are just incredible. Thanks for sharing your talent with the world. From Russ in Ct.
What an awesome opportunity! You get these gigs with this caliber of artist because you are just that good. I expect you will be getting more opportunities like this. You can bet that she won't hesitate to refer you to other well known artists. Job well done Mia!

Mia, This is so cool you are getting noticed by so many people these days wow Pam Tillis and she announces you that is awesome schoolwork by day musician nights and weekends I’m so happy for you. You had such a cool year I hope these gigs keep coming in the New Year I’m sure they will.
Very nice Mia! I about fell off my chair when you mentioned hoping that the performance went better than your test earlier in the day. That comment brought back memories of about 32 or 322 years ago when I was doing my student teaching and one of the students was handed his report card for the semester. It wasn't especially favorable for him and I heard him say out loud that his parents were going to kill him. LOL
Add MIa's songs on Spotify to your playlists. They really are great songs of differnt genre, so I sure you will find something you like there. 😃🎵🎶 Don't you all want to knock down New Zealand Cites as the top played locations for Mia's music on Spotify? Get your city on that top list!! Chicago is almost there.... Who will step up? So... Just one more day but a cool one...... Plenty more of those to come for you Mia! 14 songs to learn and the show must go on. I think shows will keep coming along for many many years to come Mia. And I'd say quite a few of your own too!! Don't say I want to be when I grow up, say I am... as you are most surely are a top notch professionl musician and have been for quite some time now. There will always be someone who can play better no matter how great you are, and of course there are so many extroudinally talented musics out there, but don't let that slow you down. You are outstanding, and sure there is always more room to grow, Just keep doing your thing. You are increadable, and more and more people will want you included as time goes on. Just wait till you have no chocie but to turn down playing with some of your music heros because you are booked with another one of your music heroes already, I really believe that day will come for you Mia. Sure its not so simple and the work to make the happen is huge, but its there for you and I know you got it in you. I could not be more convinced. You got this, becuase you are earning it. I will be long forgotten to you, just another fan in the sea of millions, and when that day comes, I will smile and know I was lucky enough to get to hear from you once in a while, back in the day. Time for me to ssshhh now... lol. This vlog was so great to see, thanks Mia. Have a great weekend!!
Mark, I'm pretty sure you are single handedly responsible for a major portion of the streams from your corner of the world :D Thanks for always doing everything you can to support and encourage me. I won't quit and hope to make all of your predictions come true some day.. Except the one where I forget you..
@@miamorrismusic That's so kind of you to say. Thank you. Just keep doing what is right for you. It really is a privilege to hear from you at all. I just hope many more people get to find out about you soon. They are missing such great music. I see some wise folk in Franklin have been streaming your music and knocked NZ back to 2nd and 3rd in the city rankings. Good! The real progress is when NZ can't feature there at all. Nashville has overtaken Chicago, so let's see what happens next. 😊
14 songs in three days?!!! Always enjoy your vlogs Mia, it never fails to be interesting to learn how and what things musicians do, thanks so much! LOL @ "flex on them", step to me brah. haha. Anyway google Making of I Am a River - Foo Fighters. Keep up the great work Miss Morris!
Did I pick up a little twang in your voice while talking Mia? I'll have to go back and watch again but there's one part when you're talking to the camera and I definitely picked up on it. 🤠
Mia Morris Yeah, I grew up in Kansas, but moved to Michigan when I was 16, so I lost my Midwest accent fairly quick. But, if I start talking to someone with a heavy twang, it starts coming back up. Sometimes I’ll catch myself & think “What the hell are you doin’?🤣
Holy flying splinters. Great performance from all. You can play anything Miss Mia, and IMO, would love to see more personality. Why, when I'm playing with different players, (i'm a guitarist/various Strings Instruments ), I love when a drummer has a unique bag of tricks they bring when playing. It brings energy which then is picked-up by the audience and other band members...Think of it like creating mini solos or accents in between transitions or even chorus to verse. Stripped down kit could see some hand percussion tools being used in conjunction, Afuche/Cabasa, Aspire wood, spoons, chimes, eggs, old leather suitcase brushes, etc and only if applicable...It may seem gimicky, but it does make a performance memorable. Just my reco.🎵🎶🎼🥁👍👌😃
I totally get what you're saying and I've seen a bit of that with a few of the musicians I've played with. I think I might still be a ways off from the confidence I'd need to start really pushing my ideas onto the artists that hire me but I love the suggestion and now that i think about it... I definitely play that role when I'm playing for the SS's on Monday nights on cajon. I take those songs where I hear them. Thanks Skyler.
Really happy for you Mia. What a nice gig. These gigs are the kind of gigs that get you more gigs. Lol man I said gig a lot. Well. Keep on. Keeping on. Work on those social studies.
Amazing..not surprised people are noticing your talent in the legendary country circles..but the drumstick break was all rock and roll..lol..always so proud of you ma..and always beautiful..keep rocking..(did you get a chance to listen to FT's ..SRT?)

Hi Mia, I like these "how I make the donuts" behind the scenes videos! (I don't know why I'm thinking about donuts). Different instruments 14 songs 3 days...wow! I do feel that your drumming added alot to the music! Big crowd, ya did amazing! ~ Marc
I'm glad you like these because I'm starting to really like having as excuse to make them as i look back at some of them. It was a really cool night - thank you.
Seems you may be on the road to become a session musician, which ain't a bad deal at all. Plenty of practice, exposure to different styles, people and instruments. Many legends came from that world and there's no reason you can't also. Whatever happens it WILL be good for you and anyone that loves music. Have a wonderful Christmas Mia.
Wow! That was super duper awesome Mia. What are the odds of a drum stick disintegrating like that while playing? I hope those sticks weren't new because that would mean that you're shredding it. Pam Tillis! I think it's safe to say that we're all happy for you! :)

@@miamorrismusic the 615 morning show on channel 4? You got a Dec 28th show that I'm looking forward to. 😁😁
I remember her. Is she Mel Tillis's daughter ? Anyhow so proud of you Mia💞
Thanks Stac - yes, that's her.
:) it's certainly a step in the right direction for becoming a touring pro. Thanks Adelard!
Hi Mia, you must be so excited to be playing with Pam Tillis and some of her band. I’m so very proud of you !! You have worked hard to get here Mia, thanks for sharing.
❤️brian
Thank you Brian :)
Ahhh! Pam Tillis!! What an honor that was. You looked great up on that stage. 😁
:D it was a fun 4 days!
Old Mel would be stutter free with joy over this :)
Ha :) His daughter sure has had a solid career.
This is great Mia! Congratulations!! Good show [flying sticks and all ;)]
Thanks Denzil. I was thrilled to get the call.
Talent Talent Talent !!! Love it Mia-:)
Wow! What an amazing experience! With your talent I'm sure this won't be the last time you play with her. Thanks for sharing.
well thank you very much. I tried to be totally pro throughout the rehearsals and show because I'd love to play with any of the people involved. It was a blast :)
What an amazing dream come true. You rock homie!
Mia,
Great job as always.
You may not realize it yet Mia but Pam is making sure you have arrived to the big times. Congrats, well deserved.
:) I was thrilled to work for her.. hope I do some more.
WAW Mia playing with Pam Tillis so cool
I loved the chance.. hope there's more.
So proud of you Little Star!
Although I think it would be awesome if you did🥁....ha)
you know, I never thought about how the sock monkey might have been a pivotal moment in shaping my music future...
Angels face, and God given talent. I hope you do so much fun in your life.
Very kind - thank you!
You are getting better and better gigs every time! Congratulations!
4 tixs for Russ - GOT IT - thanks man.
The first video of yours I watched was "Good Times, Bad Times" and I knew if you could play that you could do anything, I'm so happy for you !!
that's a very nice thing to say - thank you Corby. I'm trying to turn these opportunities into more to come :)
Glad to see some shoes will
be filled!! Love Ya . Mia.
:)
Brilliant!
What an awesome opportunity! You get these gigs with this caliber of artist because you are just that good. I expect you will be getting more opportunities like this. You can bet that she won't hesitate to refer you to other well known artists. Job well done Mia!
I saw her in a pick with some serious legends the other day.. I hope you're right about that.

Mia, This is so cool you are getting noticed by so many people these days wow Pam Tillis and she announces you that is awesome schoolwork by day musician nights and weekends I’m so happy for you. You had such a cool year I hope these gigs keep coming in the New Year I’m sure they will.
Thanks Fred. It was quite a year :)
Well done Mia you are a professional you are only going to get better and better and such a beautiful person it's a pleasure to listen to you.💟
That's a very kind comment, thank you :)
@@miamorrismusic Your welcome... just don't leave us I love watching what you do always will.🎸🥁🎤
Very nice Mia! LOL
:/ finals appear to be looking up this week... so, I will survive.
Thanks Mia for sharing! Have a great weekend! Per
Hey Per, thank you.
Astonishing talent Mia. You are to drums what Jimi Hendrix was to guitar!
ha! wow, thanks, but I've got a loooong way to go for that.
Way cool! You're well on your way, congratulations and thanks for sharing with us!
It's a fun start :)
Add MIa's songs on Spotify to your playlists. They really are great songs of differnt genre, so I sure you will find something you like there. 😃🎵🎶
Don't you all want to knock down New Zealand Cites as the top played locations for Mia's music on Spotify?
Keep up the great work Miss Morris!
listening now :) - thanks (he is a river.. apparently)
You are definitely gonna be a music legend! I hope the best for you in all you do! Hope you have a great holiday as well!
Thanks Jim - happy Holidays to you :)
Have a great Christmas and a happy prosperous New Year Mia. Love from Australia. 🇦🇺🇺🇸 🎸🥁🎊
Back atcha :D I hope 2020 is a good one for us both!
thanks Mia🎼 for one more episode. I liked the detail of the stock😂. Good week to you with great inspirations 🥁👍👻GV
:) have a good weekend.. I'm really ready for mine. XMAS break!!!!
@@miamorrismusic. (sorry Mia, it was stick and not stock). 😀 Merry Christmas Mia. 🎄:)👻
Did I pick up a little twang in your voice while talking Mia? I'll have to go back and watch again but there's one part when you're talking to the camera and I definitely picked up on it. 🤠
yeah.. I've got some ya'lls creeping in as well.
It’s so nice to see one of these again you are truly amazing special and talented hope you have a great holiday season 💜❤️💙🎤🎸🎹🎼✌🏻
:) Happy Holidays Nathan - thanks.
Mia Morris you welcome
Yeah! Awesome as always! Merry Christmas to you And your family... cheers!
Thanks Dusty - you too!
Love Pam Tillis and that signature voice of hers. Great job! 😎
She was really good and a fun hang.
Poised for great success is all I can say! More impressed with how you're handling it. Stay grounded but reach for the stars...
It's been a fun year - I plan on following that advice, thanks.
You are just awesome.... I really wish I had the courage to do what you do. Keep it up!
I'm sure you have lots of courage with some things. Music is just my one thing that always makes me feel like a boss :)
Well. Keep on. Keeping on. Work on those social studies.
pft… social studies :/
Very cool my dear... Peace n good health.....
Thank you Jack, to you as well.
Amazing..not surprised people are noticing your talent in the legendary country circles..but the drumstick break was all rock and roll..lol..always so proud of you ma..and always beautiful..keep rocking..(did you get a chance to listen to FT's ..SRT?)
i almost always listen to recommendations as soon as i read the comment while I'm at my computer so I'm gonna say - yes :) Thank you Clarence.

Merry Christmas Juan :D
That was Awesome Mia!... Cheers!...
thanks!!!

Merry Christmas Mia Morris.
Hey Dave - Happy New Year!
Incredible! You were so good!! 😀
:D I really loved getting to play with that crew - thanks.
Wonderful vlog♥️
The Best mia and magic mia👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻music forever 🎼🎼🎼♥️🙏🤗
hey Ricard!
I stopped by a session happening tonight to drop off a borrowed snare. That does look like a sweet gig.
Wow! That was super duper awesome Mia. What are the odds of a drum stick disintegrating like that while playing? I hope those sticks weren't new because that would mean that you're shredding it. Pam Tillis! I think it's safe to say that we're all happy for you! :)
I had used that pair quite a bit that week. They are especially prone to that sort of carnage since they are a reduced volume stick..
Merry Christmas :)
Look at Mia Go! Thanks for letting me follow you while you climb or should i say run up that ladder in the music business
:) thank you for caring. I hope I can keep going.
Keep on, rocking on!
yessir!
From small to tall. Gettin' taller all the time. Good job Mia, happy for you. Keep going.
hope I've got a couple more inches to go..
@@miamorrismusic I 'spect so. = )
Great show! You are a natural!
