Just got an Xbox 360 with 20 games for my birthday yesterday, they brought to me in a big shoe box and when opening it. I cried happy tears! Can’t wait to play games like Batman Arkham city, Halo 3, Assassins creed 4, I’m not much of a multiplayer kid so I’m a stick to the campaigns
I don´t know if it´s just that we got older and looking at things differently, but to me the 360 and PS3 Era was the last Console Generation that really felt like a new Generation, just like it was from 2D to 3D. We got all these "cool" new Shaders in Games, native 16:9 Resolution for all Games, Online Gaming, ect. Everything after that just was more of the same. Better Graphics and all, but the Games didn´t really changed at it´s core from that point on. Actually Nintendo and VR is really kind of pushing the next Generation of Gaming with their Hardware and it´s Experience. But that´s just my point of view!
Agreed. I enjoy my PS3/360 and it's differences/improvements or 3D, gyro and more, still finding games (the many shooters mention this video) for it impressing me and sometimes even if the AA, Indies or Japanese games that's made me kind of care for my PS4 my One sits there and my Wii U gets used more than my Xbox One. Though for me the games also in some cases (western big IPs) makes me feel like it's PS3/360 part 2 & 3 for PS5/Series and I didn't care for those games on PS3/360 but they keep making them and I'm not buying/playing them still generations later. I mean I'm discovering many PSP/Wii games for the first party/third party big and niche games for the first time and having more fun than my current consoles. I didn't care for my Wii in the beginning but came around after looking deeper and researching the Wii U and having an appreciation for game design and gimmicks old and new in a different way. Or Nintendo's way of doing things good and bad and since Sony's games aren't interesting me with their formula at the moment and I like variety which Nintendo is kind of filling the gap I'm looking for personally. While the Switch isn't much more than Wiimotes again without a sensor bar, a tablet and an upscaler/output to the TV I still have more fun with it and wanted one more than a PS5/Series console just because of what it does being more than just a generic box, a consolidated version of a PC or whatever else. I mean PSVR is great same with PC VR but still their regular output isn't my thing. The variety I've enjoyed and enjoyed with the ones I never played isn't the same as the formula now I don't care about no matter which one I pick and the leftovers that aren't the formula also aren't really doing it for me with worse entries and everyone marketing I can't believe for even a circuit racing game I mean what kind of logic is that. A story driven game sure but a Sim racer WTF are they thinking it has a strict audience unlike Forza horizon. The new gen is fine but even then I don't care to upgrade any time soon, games still being made for the PS4/One or not. I had fun with my PS3 all through the PS4 gen when the PS4 was new and still collecting (in recent years) or not for it. At least on older gen I can play them offline. Certain ones on PS4/One gen I'm kind of annoyed (online saves for example) or not they die as they weren't entries I really enjoyed anyway. I mean Grid 2019 was worse than the 2006 original and many other games I've played either feel samey, safe or uninteresting in this modern era. Had more fun playing 2000 era ones instead and tons with more creative ideas as still was an experimental gen even if improved 3D graphics that aren't even in these modern ones because other ideas were put in to keep up. I mean sure I want a Bright Memory Infinite but otherwise the top 3 shooters of 2021 had no appeal to me but many from the gens before feel more distinct and engaging to me even if clones in some cases yes can't deny that. I'll take a Titanfall 2 & Vanquish any day though or some other idea but Halo with a Grapple is fine but eh, COD wasn't worth it even singleplayer campaign wise and Battlefield was a mess and I don't care for multiplayer only. Enjoyed the Wii U and Vita and never knew they existed prior to 2017 and picking the games I wanted to try myself not recommendations. To just playing retro games on systems before my time just for the fun of researching and seeing what's out there.
@@suntannedduck2388 Yeah, it was interesting to read. Just to tell you this, the last Console i bought was a PS4, i preordered it back then and waited months for it to be shipped to me. This gave me such a rush of nostalgia! The 360 was such an intercal part of my childhood and I’m glad to see someone had similar experiences. This period was entirely unique. Nothing beats those days of playing halo 3 split screen or gears online! This time in gaming was truly special!
I have some of my best memories of my friends and family during the 360 era! Truly was a time to be alive and I'm so blessed to have them, I always get super nostalgic thinking and talking about those years.
The 360 is one of my favorite consoles, but I had a different experience. For me, I was late to get one and it was only after seeing footage of Dead Space. It looked so cool like Resident Evil 4 in space. It is a great game. Then I got Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins. Those were life changing experiences. I am totally spoiled by Bioware games, because every game I play now, I want/expect it to give me the same role playing emersion as those did. The freedom to interact with your NPC teammates, get to know them and even form a romantic bond was incredible. I played all the ME and DA sequels too. So I'll always think of it as golden age of Bioware RPGs before the dark times, before EA. :D
Thank you for reminding me of the CRT days. The CRT died for me the day I couldn't read the camo index in Metal Gear Solid 4, prompting me to transition to Flatscreen to be able to see the small text for PS3 games.
When you mentioned the smell of the 360 fresh from the box a WALL of nostalgia slapped me. My bundle games were Lego Indiana Jones (which I got stuck on and never finished) and Kung Fu Panda which is unabashed fire.
Halo 3 came with the console but, having never played a Halo before, it was all about GTA 4 for me as I bought the console the week that game came out.
Jesus you just reminded me that my family didn't get a flat screen TV until 2011, the first major release I played on a flat screen for the first time was Skyrim.
i was watching this and then saw the likes when i went to click it and was blown away you were not a already popular creator keep working on it man u have sm potential this is golden
I remember when I first played Assassins Creed 1, it felt like the truly next gen game. The world was huge and the animations were so smooth. Haven't really had that feeling since.

That part about not playing in HDMI.....that was me too. Buddy and I used to play NBA 2K, but at his house the game looked incredible. My life changed when he told me about the cable. I was missing out.
I would say that having a 360 is still very much worth it tbh. - First of all, lot's of Original Xbox games work on 360 and look far superior than ever thanks to HDMI, stuff like Sonic Heroes and Riders, Tony Hawk games, old Harry Potter games, Project Gotham Racing 1+2 Need for Speed Underground 2, the Burnout games (mainly 3), Crash Twinsanity and Wrath of Cortex and the Spyro titles are examples, heck you can play the original (and superior) GTA Trilogy and also gems like Jet Set Radio Future, the first Forza Motorsport, SpongeBob Movie game and yes, even tie in games like Shrek 2, Over The Hedge and... Shark Tale even. Even stuff like BMX XXX and Shadow the Hedgehog work if you really want them. Sure it's not all of them but 501/1000 sounds way better than just 90/1000 on newer Xbox consoles. - And well... there still are several worthy titles stuck on 360, stuff like Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, the older Need For Speed games like Most Wanted 2005 and Carbon, the Godfather games, Sonic All Stars Racing with Banjo Kazooie, older Medal of Honor games, more Crash and Spyro games, Project Gotham Racing 3-4 and older Forza Motorsport titles, Fight Night Round 3 and 4, older SpiderMan games, and... even naughty bear, the sneak king games and yes... Sonic 06. - And lastly, if you're into parties, then the Kinect is actually excellent for this... I know the reputation and several games are terrible but it's the ultimate machine for Dancing games and they work brilliantly on it, it's super cheap and GunStringer is a true gem. Granted, most of the must have titles either are backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series, have remasters or PC ports but there still are good reasons to still have one.
The most iconic memory i can have of the xbox 360 was the red ring of death but not for the reasons you think. Back then i had no idea what this xbox live stuff or multiplayer was all about. Ive plaved single player all my life. So never purchased any of those xbox live subscriptions, i was like whats the point when i can use that money and buy another game? i pass. Well, when microsoft fixed my xbox they included a free xbox live membership card, so i used it just to see what this who deal was all about and my very first experiencie with multiplayer was COD 4. I was blown away. Thanks to this i was able to find interest in experiencing more multplayer games. Halo 3, battlefield bad company 2 and many others.
Black College Football was actually a game?! Man I love my 360. I was there during the red ring of death days. Went through 3 consoles but still love it.
Your story of how you got into Xbox 360 is exactly like mine! No joke, Gears 2 was what attracted me to the Xbox 360. Christmas 09 came and I got that exact bundle you received. Pure was something else at the time.
I still have my 360 alive and kicking, and just hot fixed after a ventilator malfunction and me and my friends still adore it, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Crazi Taxi, Burnout Paradise, Gears of War 2, 3 and Judgement, and I still remember the time I just wanted one so bad, and I got it all the way into Christmas 2010 and Halo Reach was my first 360 owned videogame, Fifa doesn't count as the first since I barely played that one. And since then I still love it, I will keep this console alive and kicking while I still can. Thanks for this video, man. I'm going to play with my 360 later after this.
Man I relate so much to the ritual of going back through your entire catalogue once you made the switch to HDMI. Deus Ex Human Revolution looked mindblowing in all its sub-720p glory 🙌🙌
Oh man....i just remembered that when i bought my 360 here in Greece it came with no games at all....i was stuck for one month playing the demos that were pre-installed...like tetris and a bike game having fun and just being happy that i finally got my 360😂..Also first game i bought was Jason Bourne which i freaking loved...Love your videos and your style bro...keep em coming..!
Fucking gold. You are the sleeper hit gaming channel of YT right now. Very creative stuff, man. I love it. I'm watching, and thoroughly enjoying, videos of yours of games I have zero interest in because I know what you have in store.
I have been in the same boat. I haven't found many recent games that compelling so I brought out my Xbox 360 because I just love this era of gaming for some strange reason. I hope going forward that gaming finds ways to bring back the aspects of this era of gaming but mixed with the modern capabilities that we now are capable of achieving.
This was such a great, and nostalgic video! I was very fortunate to have grown up in a family that could afford consoles, and man, the 360 was one I sunk thousands of hours into, even when I got my own PC. it's also funny that you mention Tenchu Z for a quick second. Game was kinda like, underrated as hell and like, the best ninja game ever. From Software really oughta port it to PC, along with it's multiplayer. I know not many people played that game, but damn it is just oozing with style, atmosphere, and just in general is like, the Sickest game ever. I literally still play it on my 360 and the Xenia emulator (even though it's a buggy mess on the emulator, i still enjoy the hell out of it) I really want to be able to experience that game with friends again, but nowadays getting a 360, a copy of the game, and xbox live gold is so inconvenient when we all just use Steam on our PCs. Imo, From Software should really bring it to PC, even if I'm gonna be the only one playing it cause damn it, I fuckin love that game LOL
I still have my original halo reach copy with the 360. I have all my files saved from my first legendary coop run. It's a time capsule for me. My god you unlocked a core memory. I got the lego batman and pure bundle too 🤣 pure was fun.
My best memories of this console were Kameo, Viva Pinata, the Banjo Kazooie trilogy, backwards compatibility for Conker and Grabbed by the Ghoulies, and Soul Calibur IV.
I keep my 360 for collecting purposes and also for guitar hero and rock band. I also still have an OG Xbox too. Like I said I collect but also not all OG and 360 xbox Games work on a Series X or S or what ever else they’ve came out with lol 😂…. Also the store does still do discounts sometimes especially for gold members and also they’ve updated it several times. Trust me. Or it’s just on airplane mode running sales sometimes until they shut off the store. I’ve boughten allot of dlc and games in 2022 and now 2023.
I like how many of the games he named and series that are still getting sequels. And at least one of them just got remade. Really shows the impact this generation had, being it lasted so long do its alot of people 1st generation
There's some sort of special feeling I get knowing that even once I finally track down a Series X that I don't have to sell my firstborn to afford, I'll still keep around my 360 just to play the real, original Sonic 06 on it, even once P-06 is finished.
The 360 era was fun. Personally the ps2 was the best console ever, but I experienced more with the 360. My first 360 was the white one in like 2005/2006 as a birthday gift surprise from my dad. It came with a mix of original and Xbox 360 games. He helped me set up and I remember trying to play a paintball game and halo with him. I had no idea what Xbox live was, so I just played campaign for a majority of my life. Halo, MW2, bo2, guitar hero, fifa 15, gta v, the indie games, and good games I can’t come up with atm. It died prematurely in 2010 after one repaired. It wasn’t until 2012 where I got back into 360 gaming with the halo 4 limited edition Xbox that Christmas. I was in 6th grade and I finally found out about Xbox live through my middle school friends. Then multiplayer became my thing, I got black ops 2 early 2013, played some halo forge games, and whatever game was free for the month when they introduced them. Such as a good time for gaming seriously 360 won that battle but you had so many good titles from all genres.
The Xbox 360 era of gaming was just cool. The games often delivered even more than they promised. So many fun games and so many good memories. It made the bad times tolerable and the good times epic.
Looking forward to that PDZ video down the line. Perfect Dark on N64 still is one of my favorite games of all time, I played through those levels hundreds of times and it never got old. Boy was Zero disappointing. "Stiff" is the perfect way to put it... but that song Limelight was pretty dope.
I remember writing to starbreeze a couple years ago to please rerelease the darkness on modern consoles/pc, they said they wish they could but comic book licensing stuff was hard, i remember buying the darkness at the gamecrazy (remember that place) like bargain under 5 dollar bin and it's still one of my fave games.
There's nothing I wouldn't do to go back to the launch of the 360 and get to live it all over again. Easily the happiest time of my life, all the boys getting home from school to jump on and play all my favorite series in their prime Halo, CoD, Battlefield, Gears, Forza, GTA, Burnout, Trials. It's scary to think how many thousands and thousands and thousands of hours I have logged on my 360. Fuck nostalgia man...
I never personally owned the 360 since my parents were super religious and thought gaming was the root of all evil. But whenever I slept over at my friend’s house, I remembered playing Halo and Fallout 3 all night long. Those were the times and the 360 will forever be my favorite consoles.
Some of my favorite gaming memories were with the 360. Had the choice to pick out our first 360 game between Call Of Duty 2 and Quake 4, I was like “wtf is a Quake?” Also Viva Piñata and Gears Of War! Xbox live was wild, getting voice messages from strangers named “bushbarber”
Jesus I always feel old when I hear stuff like this came out 15 years ago and I remember it as it was just yesterday. I mean yeah sure I got myself an xbox 360 like 2 years ago mostly because I got it for free from a relative of mine but I remember that both xbox 360 and ps3 were the shit in early to mid 2010s but then I remember that they are actually way older. Also fun fact the PS4 is almost 10 years at this point. Jesus I feel old. Anyway keep up the good work my dude
I see you can appreciate the top tier games of life, being pure and split second, those two games are made by Blackrock studios, the same people who made atv offroad fury 3 on the ps2, the best atv game on ps2

I’m so happy to see this burnout revenge is one of my favorite games of all time and seeing a glimpse of that intro made me tear up
The 360 version of Bayonetta is actually still the best version of the game. The ports are littered with numerous issues.
I'm so glad I have a RGH'd 360 Slim. I suggest you do the sane with your Xbox 360 man.
Pure and Split Second were some of my 360 favorites. Black Rock Studio made 2 special really fun games at the end.
Love this sort of content. I look forward to more keep it up!
Black College Football was actually a game?! Man I love my 360. I was there during the red ring of death days. Went through 3 consoles but still love it.
I got a 360 extremely late, after the Xbox one came out, the jump from playing reign of fire, to GTA 5 was insane
This channel will blow up 1 day, just remember me, and all of us when your channel blows up. We were here with you first.
You're my new favorite channel now.
Hey thank you for finding my little channel!
@@YungJunko I'm glad i did!
your videos are amazing man. You deserve to have hundreds of thousand of subscribers. Such high quality and good humor.
I don't know how I got here, 3 hours into binging your content... But I'm staying. Congrats on getting algorhythmed
What great vid man funny too ur channel is totally underrated
Damn that was actually so good
Fucking gold. You are the sleeper hit gaming channel of YT right now. Very creative stuff, man. I love it. I'm watching, and thoroughly enjoying, videos of yours of games I have zero interest in because I know what you have in store.
the editing in this is refreshingly well done
Just watched your cars vhs video made me laugh now im here to watch more of your stuff great content my guy
To the kids who grew up with the two BK games that weren't Pocket Bike Racer, I'm so sorry. You deserved better.
That Cortana voice at the end was killer, great job.
I just realized he had an Xbox 360 Elite, better than the other rich kids he described I bet.
Awesome channel, greetings from Paraguay!
Very good quality content. Keep up the good work my man.
Man I remember getting a 360 2 months after it launched in middle school with 5 launch titles and a second controller…
I literally still play it on my 360 and the Xenia emulator (even though it's a buggy mess on the emulator, i still enjoy the hell out of it)
I really want to be able to experience that game with friends again, but nowadays getting a 360, a copy of the game, and xbox live gold is so inconvenient when we all just use Steam on our PCs.
The Burnout backdrop for the CRT segment tickled my brain in the same way casual Halo CE music appears in other video essays
I actually loved Jericho and still play it to this day
I like how many of the games he named and series that are still getting sequels. And at least one of them just got remade.
Really shows the impact this generation had, being it lasted so long do its alot of people 1st generation
Aye i actually remember playig fairy tale fights with my cousin on the 360 man those were some good times
Still got my 360 from 2008. Played it on a CRT TV right up until 2012.
Loved this vid you have a new and interested subscriber
Ah, so that's where Frodo went. We all thought he went with the elves to the undying lands but in reality he was going to the Xbox 360 launch event.
First gaming console i bought from a store as an adult with my own money. Got gta iv as well with it. Maaaaaan time flies.
There's some sort of special feeling I get knowing that even once I finally track down a Series X that I don't have to sell my firstborn to afford, I'll still keep around my 360 just to play the real, original Sonic 06 on it, even once P-06 is finished.
PURE was one of my absolut favorites on the 360
I’m so glad to see the darkness get mentioned that was a unique game
Love it bro! Your channel will blow soon!!! You get so many views and put out such good original content!! Keep it up gg
I was in grade 9 when they came out... made me feel old there.
I remember writing to starbreeze a couple years ago to please rerelease the darkness on modern consoles/pc, they said they wish they could but comic book licensing stuff was hard, i remember buying the darkness at the gamecrazy (remember that place) like bargain under 5 dollar bin and it's still one of my fave games.
ayo darkest of days was freaking amazing, its in the "so bad its good catagory"
Hot damn your channel is underrated.
Miss it ps3 360 back in the day I was so into it wish I can go back to these days play it like it was new can't believe its been that long
i remember when me and my brother would try so hard just to get 100 true jeti on LEGO Star Wars
This man brought up over the hedge and I lost it 😭
Some of my favorite gaming memories were with the 360.
I remember getting my Xbox and playing Pure. Also I did get LEGO Batman as well 😂
Love it dude I remember when this dropped back in 3rd grade too
Bro I love this you have the comedy of nakey Jakey love the vids just make sure quality over Quantity
All Xbox players should cry BC you have to miss this game if your a Xbox long time player
singularity is actually a misunderstood masterpiece it's one of my favorites
