Thank you so much!! Yeah I was ridiculously excited to share this amazing game; I was shocked how awake I was at 4am haha but I guess nerves and adrenaline will do that for ya haha
hahaha yessss!! Right before I came into the scene roll stabbing was sort of the go-to for packing in the most damage and used in a multitude of places. Some epicly awesome runners still use it on Yavin1b on the cultist at the end instead of going for the Aerial and on the saber droid in Yavin2!
I actually really liked him explaining everything. And for people who know nothing about this game/run it's very informative. Maybe it would've helped if some couch-guy explained 1 or 2 things.
haha yeahh I'm the only active USA runner of this game with the knowledge base to accurately and efficiently explain stuff. I think for most of my runs I'd probably feel most comfortable doing a lot of the commentary, it's a lot harder for me to interact people and keep that level of play. ESPECIALLY when I'm nervous AF (which I so happened to be during this run hahaha)
That's exactly what made me fall in love with GDQ when I started watching in 2012 and why I got into speedrunning less than a year ago; what an incredible thing to witness! ________EDIT_______ I think the first one I watched was 2011? Can't remember haha been a while!!
YESSS!!! DOO IT!! Honestly I progressed really fast because this community is awesome and I put a LOT of time consistently over the past year into the game. I also looooooove learning and refining/improving which makes it easier for me to beat my head against the keyboard to hash it out. Speedrunning is like a self-critical artist in an art gallery; looking on other peoples works will find inspiration and appreciation of nuance; but when you look on your own work flaws and incorrect methodology hit you in the face. Gotta enjoy the process of crafting the run or you will end up resenting and hating the act of doing it overall. but thank you so much for the kind words!! You should totally try it out; I think there's a good speedgame for everyone!!
CovertMuffin1 I've been sorta probing games that I might be interested in speedrunning, but I've got a lot of stuff I have to do (like studying). Thank you for the response though, I'll have to keep all that in mind whenever I do have time. :p
Yeah man absolutely; we have a bunch of students in the community as well. Everyone is pretty active on the discord but not every participates in the community events regularly. Hope to see you soon!! Good Luck with the studies
RIGHT?!?! I used to be ridiculously scared of that level haha every now and then in a run I'll miss a pretty crucial boost and be caught out in the middle of the sand and then the eternal butt clench and screaming returns hahaha
I've played this game so many times as a kid, one of my favorite games. Really enjoyable run and great commentary. As many others have said, his enthusiasm is fantastic.
What a great run. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have been very interested in the game by title alone, but this surprised me to be one of my favorites. Thumbs up runner dude.
Even as a casual play this game is amazing, the lightsaber combat is arguably the best to date as long as you're on pc, and yet still on controller it could be the best. The modding community is huge aswell there's a mod called movie battles that let's you play through all the movies even letting you play as Anakin during order 66(yes that one part too). It's a must play for any star wars fan
awww thank you so much!! I DEFINITELY have a lot to improve on in terms of commentary. I didn't put too much time into actually scripting out what I wanted to say (which I think if I did might have helped with the ahhhhh's)
This game took me like months to finish... Wow... Really nice that CovertMuffin explained everything too! One of the most amusing and informative runs from this AGDQ!
This speedrun is what made me finally go out and buy the game. It's downloading right now so I'm going to thank covertmuffin for the hours o fun in advance!
Wow. I've played this game for hours and this is the first run I see of this game. I really liked your enthusiasm, the energy and the fun you have playing / running this game. Really appreciating it! Keep up the great work!
I don't know if anyone will read this but on Hoth 3 there is a faster way to defeat the boss. Use the Tauntaun and charge right into her. 1 hit kill. You reach her faster too.
"Mmm... a bath you must take" hahahaha Beautiful speedrun, i played this game when i was like 9 years old, and im playing it on Jedi Master now. Thanks for the glitched nostalgia
Awesome guy, very informative of what he's doing, hasn't got an annoying voice and he's straight to the point with little to no fuck ups and 'ums' in his speech. Very entertaining to watch.
25:00 i have played this game since i was a child..............never i realized taht Force Sense at lvl 2 was 100% accuracy. I don`t know how to feel about this.
This guys commentary was so fast and high energy that the people watching could barely react, I doubt they even knew when to clap or not lmao. Fantastic run and fantastic commentary. Hope I can catch the next live marathon soon!
Aww thank you so much!! Yeah it's really weird I did NOT put in that much work to the commentary, I think I might practice a bit more to clean up the "ahhh" if I get the chance to perform in future marathons; and yes, everything IS awesome haha
These insights are so good. I can actually use this stuff in a casual way just to have a more enjoyable time. big THANKS to every runner that teaches while they ownz on games.
I really appreciated him telling us what parts of the run were really hard and what we should be impressed by, because I honestly didnt know. He did it a very non-gloating manner, and it made the game-play more interesting.
Sure!! So if he were to take out the sniper rifle out he does not fall down from that perch; so you jump up using the door frame and then jump up to the top and do some crazy saber stuff to kill him before flamethrower pushes you off hahaha
I totally forgot about this game!! I always remembered it though but forgot like everything about it except for the multiplayer games I played with my brother. So nostalgic
what an awesome speedrun unfortunately i can't run the game on my pc anymore. Gotic 1 and 2 and this game were my childhood. so nice watching you playing it and you seem like such a nice guy. keep up the great work love you
Played sooooo much of this game's multiplayer growing up. Great to see it fun. No idea who the runner was, but he seemed pretty awesome. I'll have to look up his content.
this was one of my favorite games as a kid, i played through it so many times and so far the hardest thing this game has to offer is choosing to stay with 1 saber after becoming a knight, it is just impossible to play with 1 saber late game unless you dont use it and only use force or guns. Also the sand worm scared the shit outta me and still does... its just scary and your character sometimes did a glitch where your eyes would turn black when it swallowed you which made it even more creepier. iv played the games before this but they just arnt as great and visually appealing at all when compared to older games like doom and quake
YESS!!! I LOVED this game when I was younger; I've literally done hundreds of playthroughs casually, even before i dreamed of speedrunning it!! Yeah it's saber mechanics are very interesting, single saber in t3 is a lot harder for the 'consistent' speedrun, but I'm just so comfortable with its insanity and enjoy it more than dual sabers that I decided to use it instead. No saber is an interesting prospect haha DUUUUDE YEAH THE SANDWORMS so scary. They are pretty much harmless in a speedrun, until you miss that 1 jump in the middle of a sequence and you are stranded; THEN the fear and terror works its way back in hahaha Thank you so much for the comment!! What an incredible game JKA is!!
I disagree with you completely about getting the sabre. I find the game much harder without the versatility of the single sabre with the different forms.
Shame Jedi Outcast hasn't been played yet; that was my introduction to the series, and the speedrun I watched from outside GDQ was absurd and hilarious.
At 43 yes old, I think it’s important to point out that you taking advantage of glitches to speed run is fine. I casually played this game when it was initially released years ago. Back then , all games were buggy on the PC, which was buggy too. Getting these to load was a project in itself. It cost over 2 grand for a PIII 450! What you see as glitches to exploit were at the time viewed as glitches to an otherwise fun game. They weren’t treated like Easter eggs. But no one cared. The game was amazing. To live through and with the evolution of games is a real treat. Try to understand the history of these games in order to appreciate what they accomplished given the limitations.
I love that guy's positivity! He's so pumped.
Thank you so much!! Yeah I was ridiculously excited to share this amazing game; I was shocked how awake I was at 4am haha but I guess nerves and adrenaline will do that for ya haha
CovertMuffin1 Sure thing man you made a great run better!
CovertMuffin1 One of my favorite games of all time. You rocked it!
WTF was that. Some of these levels took hours to beat when i was a kid.Respect
"Force speed, roll and saber up the butt", the secret jedi technique for epic win :D:D:D
hahaha yessss!!
The couch members do not play Jedi Knight so they couldn't possibly explain it
+Ricky Pedlow Oh didn't know that. Fair enough!
haha yeahh I'm the only active USA runner of this game with the knowledge base to accurately and efficiently explain stuff. I think for most of my runs I'd probably feel most comfortable doing a lot of the commentary, it's a lot harder for me to interact people and keep that level of play. ESPECIALLY when I'm nervous AF (which I so happened to be during this run hahaha)
You don't come across as nervous at all! Brilliant run
+CovertMuffin1 Well that says a lot - a true Jedi Master! :) You were definitely not sounding nervous, was a very enjoyable run!
This runners enthusiasm is awesome.
Thank you!! I had TONS of fun haha what a great speedgame!
Always fun watching a speedrunner breaking your childhood games!
That's exactly what made me fall in love with GDQ when I started watching in 2012 and why I got into speedrunning less than a year ago; what an incredible thing to witness!
________EDIT_______
I think the first one I watched was 2011? Can't remember haha been a while!!
You started _less than a year ago???_
Holy cow dude. People like you make me want to get involved in speedrunning.
YESSS!!! DOO IT!! Honestly I progressed really fast because this community is awesome and I put a LOT of time consistently over the past year into the game. Wow I remember watching my dad play this game because I was too scared of the sand creature to play it xD
RIGHT?!?! I used to be ridiculously scared of that level haha every now and then in a run I'll miss a pretty crucial boost and be caught out in the middle of the sand and then the eternal butt clench and screaming returns hahaha
+CovertMuffin1 haha yup It's all coming back to me lol
Me too!!! Also is fear the reason you skip both rancor levels in the run? I was terrified of them as a kid
pussy
mnb323 that and the rancors, I hated them all haha
Imagine being Luke Skywalker and Kyle Katarn watching this.
"This is no Jedi Master or Sith Lord... He's some sort of trickster god."
42:33
Muffin: "Selfie at SGDQ! Hiiii, yeaaahhhhh" in game cutscene: "Nooooooo!"
I like that you don't get angry and shout and swear. You're chill.
Thumbs up runner dude.
awww thank you so much!! The game is really an incredible speedgame, it's SOOOOO insane!!

he is such a positive guy, i wish him the best. :-)
awww thank you so much!!
Best runner of them all, really charismatic.
awww thank you so much!! I DEFINITELY have a lot to improve on in terms of commentary. I didn't put too much time into actually scripting out what I wanted to say (which I think if I did might have helped with the ahhhhh's)
Been watchin GDQs since 2012 and man, this run is definitely in my top 5. The energy and geniune enjoyment in what you do is awesome.
This game took me like months to finish... Wow... Really nice that CovertMuffin explained everything too! One of the most amusing and informative runs from this AGDQ!
"Greedo Speedo"
my ribs hurt
This speedrun is what made me finally go out and buy the game. It's downloading right now so I'm going to thank covertmuffin for the hours o fun in advance!
Holy crap! I've played Jedi Academy for years and I had no idea Force Sense makes you 100% accurate.
same here!
Yeah man I feel ya
I also found it out watching his runs
Wow. I've played this game for hours and this is the first run I see of this game. I really liked your enthusiasm, the energy and the fun you have playing / running this game. Really appreciating it! Keep up the great work!
Take a bath! Loved the speedrun and the runner. Amazing stuff.
I don't know if anyone will read this but on Hoth 3 there is a faster way to defeat the boss. Use the Tauntaun and charge right into her. 1 hit kill. You reach her faster too.
Take a Bath!! 🛀 🛀 🛀 🛀
Still nervous?
Always haha
Kinda Sith Lord rolls up with the name Muffin? Marka Ragnos rolling in his grave smh. Nah just kidding dude - Nice run
hahaha thanks so much!! The least suspicious the name, the more terrified people will be mwuahahaha
"Mmm... a bath you must take" hahahaha
Beautiful speedrun, i played this game when i was like 9 years old, and im playing it on Jedi Master now.
Thanks for the glitched nostalgia
Awesome guy, very informative of what he's doing, hasn't got an annoying voice and he's straight to the point with little to no fuck ups and 'ums' in his speech. Very entertaining to watch.
this is a great speed run of one of my favorite childhood games keep up the greats runs Covertmuffin !
This was my first time seeing a speed run. I was SO IMPRESSED. What a cool community, what a nice guy. I have finals to be writing!

This is how a speed run vid should be. Really enjoyed watching
25:00 i have played this game since i was a child..............never i realized taht Force Sense at lvl 2 was 100% accuracy.
I don`t know how to feel about this.
Cor snake that demostrate how fucking complete and complex is this peace of art ❤️👌🏾
He's become more powerful than any jedi.
This guys commentary was so fast and high energy that the people watching could barely react, I doubt they even knew when to clap or not lmao.
Fantastic run and fantastic commentary. Hope I can catch the next live marathon soon!
love this runner. He is just so happy. everything is awesome to him. his explanations are excellent.
Aww thank you so much!! Yeah it's really weird I did NOT put in that much work to the commentary, I think I might practice a bit more to clean up the "ahhh" if I get the chance to perform in future marathons; and yes, everything IS awesome haha
*lego movie soundtrack starts playing*
Hoping to see more of you at future GDQ.
Damn I hope this guy will comeback!!
This was my favorite pc game that I had for years... and I still love it to this day...
It's amazing what 5 years does for a speedrun route.
I keep rewatching this run! Covert is too awesome a runner!
I absolutely loved that game as a kid. Great video!
These insights are so good. I can actually use this stuff in a casual way just to have a more enjoyable time. big THANKS to every runner that teaches while they ownz on games.
I enjoed every second of this run. Great job
this is by far the best speed run game i have seen
One of the best runs of SGDQ2016! It's great to see that one of my favorite games made it to the event. Hope to see you for AGDQ2017. Good luck! :D
this is the run that got me into speed runs. love this game. love covertmuffin.
Found this randomly glad i did. Awesome skills :)
I really appreciated him telling us what parts of the run were really hard and what we should be impressed by, because I honestly didnt know. He did it a very non-gloating manner, and it made the game-play more interesting.
I'm happy to know this game had a speedrun community
Love the game and the energy of the runner, such a nice section
Sick run. Loved the commentary.
lol it's the first guy I've ever seen who is really thankful for the donations and enjoys them
SGDQ 17 brought me here! You're awesome man!
When he died and he was so confused it was so heartbreaking xD
Such energy and enthusiasm, and so positive too!
He's amazing!
This was awesome! Looking foreward to Outcast by Muffin at SGDQ17!
I'm glad I'm not the only person who got nightmares from these games
41:47 i have never been more satisfied xD
The best Runner in all of AGDQ
This seems like such a fun speed game, just zipping past everything with cool movement techs. Really cool run!
"This is Yavin-OneV"
I played this game a lot and when i see this video for the first time , i just cant believe it
love seeing people break my favorite game! :D the explanations were great! Video was awesome!
Back to see this again after his Outcast run in SGDQ'17 (literally just finished on stream) He's so hype I need more.
That being said, this run was pretty cool.
LOL!! YES! thanks Raiden hahaha
Padme: "we take the long way"Speedrunner: "nope.. watch and learn" 41:45
Really enjoyed watching and listening to this speed runner, good stuff!
Still one of the greatest speedruner ever exist in this world
i was curious about the boba backup strat, for when boba picks the sniper
Sure!! So if he were to take out the sniper rifle out he does not fall down from that perch; so you jump up using the door frame and then jump up to the top and do some crazy saber stuff to kill him before flamethrower pushes you off hahaha
29:00 for "This has never happened before"
Love this speed run. Hes got the best attitude
I totally forgot about this game!! I always remembered it though but forgot like everything about it except for the multiplayer games I played with my brother. So nostalgic
Currently doing another play through, by far the best Star Wars game
In the last boss fight @ 40:23 you can just force run to the end of the platform to end the level.

4:22
How did I not know this game back in the day?!
4 years late, did you end up getting it?
Shame
very good commentator, speed runner, and he knows the game well
6:06 how to do this? I trying to make this skip one freaking hour, but can't
Covert muffin is an amazing name! And what a great run!
That was some fantastic energy dude, TAKE A BATH
LOL YUSSS!!! Thank you so much! I had a ton of fun!
Amazing run Covert!
This is a really solid looking game for how old it is
This game is my all time fav and he is awesome
Fantastic run and commentary! TAB!
It took me so long to beat this game the first time. I might try some of these tricks! Thanks covert🖒
22:33 repping Lugormod!!
The guy playing is awesome.alot of energy

The individual in the red top. I loved their manic personality. xD I loved seeing them crack up and be so high. :)
Such a great run. And a very positive guy. Awesome! :D
That's some legendary commentary skills
nice run, i recently replayed this game, good memories
at 18:20 you select Strong saber style, is there a reason why? Just watching the run now so if you answer it later sorry for the ?
the kril'dor mission starting at 20:10 took me so long as a kid, then I recently replayed it and it still took me a good half hour, mad skills bro
Shame Jedi Outcast hasn't been played yet; that was my introduction to the series, and the speedrun I watched from outside GDQ was absurd and hilarious.
Lepidolite Mica its was stupid. He didn't circle strafe. Woulda saved him 2 mins
Good news, Muffin is running JO in just a few weeks!
Oh look, Pants Considering that to my knowledge his record has yet to be broken, I doubt that. Unless you're not talking about the same run.
Gameplay starts at 4:08
You're welcome
Game od my childhood, great speedrun man
I just found my speed runner crush, love his enthusiasm 😊
At 43 yes old, I think it’s important to point out that you taking advantage of glitches to speed run is fine. I casually played this game when it was initially released years ago. This was a lot of fun to watch. Good job, and take a bath!
Haha this runner was awesome! Definitely bring him back for future GDQ's :)
Also worth noting, that 'elevation boost' actually is nerfed strafejumping, which comes all the way from Quake games =)
