this is so awesome, I went material shopping today and found that exact same hardened styropor type and thought "this could work well for the battle axe" ... then I looked for some videos on youtube and found you using the same thing, doing it the exact same way I planned to do it :D so happy right now! and very nice job!
this is so awesome! I want to make this for my cosplay as well, but I was wondering how long you made the neck of the bass? And what filler did you use to fill in the holes in the styrafoam?
You did a great job! I found this tutorial very helpful. Also, I see you have a love for Batman as well. I have the same pants as you and I was wearing mine while working on my bass too! :D
Flux i hope you have a great time crafting with your daughter! If you use styrodur as a base for the axe please keep in mind to wear gloves and some eye and mouth protection cause the foam particals can be toxic. For a filler to seal the foam I used gesso. It’s a primer for canvases. :)
Sowas gibts in jedem größeren Baumarkt. Den Preis kann ich dir leider nicht sagen, da das Video mittlerweile ein paar Jahre alt ist. :) Einfach mal googlen
It was very easy and I made it in a whole week with university and part time job for a convention! :D I wish you luck and fun with your future marceline cosplay~
+Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay Uh... I don't understand. There are so many sandpapers used wood, metal, glass, painting, car purposes. I don't know which one to buy 😥 Oh ya, I also want to know how much grit did you buy for both.
+Hikari Quin due to the fact that I used styrofoam I used sandpaper for acrylics and I don't know which grid it was. It was one with a high and one with a low

Sanela where did you find it?
in austria, big DIY or hardware stores have it. Places where you would find stuff for house-building (like hornbach, bauhaus etc)
I love the music in this video
Ylrebmik Yorcm thank you very much 😊
this is so awesome! I want to make this for my cosplay as well, but I was wondering how long you made the neck of the bass? And what filler did you use to fill in the holes in the styrafoam?
I eyeballed erything and I used normal wall filler
This is amazing.
It could've been better but thank you very much! :3

Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay did someone say Batman?
Where does own buy Styrodur? Hardware store?
Was it very heavy once you finished or was it light? I really want to know
Shadowsoultaker it's really light weight :)
Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay thank you so much for replying
Shadowsoultaker you're welcome! :)
Cool video! My daughter loves your channel. We're making her the axe bass for halloween. What kind of filler did you use?

@@Laladiel_ Thanks a bunch. Happy crafting!
Hi ich hab mich gewundert in welchem Laden du den Styrodur gekauft hast und wie viel dieser gekostet hat :)
Sowas gibts in jedem größeren Baumarkt.
Den Preis kann ich dir leider nicht sagen, da das Video mittlerweile ein paar Jahre alt ist. :)
Einfach mal googlen
Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay Dankeschön! :)

Can you tell me where to find Styrodur because here in spain didn't see anywhere

Iulian Andrei :DDD thx alot
How long did this take?
+Nicole KaroL With drying time around 4-5 days :)
Oh wow! I hope it will work. I kinda sound like Marceline, so I want to cosplay as her in the near future. XD
It was very easy and I made it in a whole week with university and part time job for a convention! :D
I wish you luck and fun with your future marceline cosplay~
lol awesome
The largest size of styrofoam board near me is 1200 x 2400 mm, do you think that would be enough? Or would I need to buy more than one ;c
Oliwia P. Mine was 120 x 50cm so yes that's totally fine :)
Ah that's great c: Thank you!
Oliwia P. You're welcome :)
Where did you get the styrodur from? Because everywhere I went they didn't have it.
Here in Germany you can get it in every Home Depot store.
I think in the USA it is the blue foam.
I'm sorry if this couldn't help you
***** oh thank you. Great job on this btw
+Blade Emery thank you very much! :))
If I use eva instead of styrodur, will there be any differences?
Yağmur L I never used Eva Zote before so I don't now
+Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay okay thanks, I'll try to find styrodur if I cant I will do it with eva foam. Thanks again
Yağmur L I don't think it'll be a huge difference but sure! You're welcome :))
what kind of glue did you use? and what is gesso and fimo?
Kelsey Scotka fimo is like play doh but gets hard when you bake it. Gesso is a base coat for canvases and the glue is normal glue for Styropor
Sweet! Thanks. This is a great tutorial btw! and I'm so inspired by your work! I'm totes getting started today on my own axe bass ^.^
Kelsey Scotka you're welcome :)
Que material é esse?
está todo en la descripción
How did you get the paper outline for the bass?
Well I glued some papers together and drew the shape on it until I was satisfied :)
+Angie Ryan in my local Home Depot. But I life in Germany so I can't say were to find it in other country's
How long did you make the guitar neck?
phantastically__me I made the pattern at the beginning so that the bass would be proportional to my body. So I don't know 🤔
Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay Oh, ok, thank you anyway 😊
phantastically__me sorry that I could give you a proper response.
Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay It's ok, thank you for the fast reply though, most people I've asked haven't commented back : )
where can you findstyrud
Here in Germany you can find it in every Home Depot.
In the us I think the foam is blue. But I can't tell you were to find it :/ I'm sorry about that
+Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay its okay but thanks anyways ill try looking in homedepo
What type of sandpaper did you used? Please reply me quick I'll start working with Axe Bass soon.
That's just some normal sanding paper one which is stronger and one which is very fine
+Sayuri Shinichi Cosplay Got it. 😄 Thanks! 😆 I didn't buy the things yet but I don't get the styrodur/ blue foam what should I use instead? 😅
+Hikari Quin that's just some normal styrodur like Eva foam. U should be able to get this in every crafting store
You should avoid sanding that stuff inside if you can, the dust is toxic.
