Everyone whining about "it's not a guitar" while my gear-enthusiast brain is just going "but her bass had Tele-style pickups".
Lmao in the case of a bass it would probably be j bass pickups. It's just the animators not knowing anything abt guitar, just look at the frets lmao

I'm far more concerned about the incredibly high action, neck dive, and hand painted finish than him saying it's a guitar tbh... a bass is a guitar anyway. Also I'm with you on the telecaster bass pups.
Actually you are pretty close. The pickups are more like the original non split Precision Bass pickups from the 1950s. Sting used them in his Fender bass. Squire also made a copy years ago. Its bassically like a four slug Tele pickup. Fender did make a Telecaster bass but that had a very different pickup. The pickups in this bass is a P/J setup.
I would love to make this bass but if I do I would use TV Jones Thundertrons to both nail the look better but to sound badass!!!😝👍

It was such an honor to be a part of this show for my friend, Odin! Sorry to any bass guitar purists for my playing :)
I gave the Adventure Time opening theme, as well as Ace of Spades (Motörhead) and Nervous Breakdown (Black Flag) a shot, but those didn't make the cut.
For those of you wondering, it weighed a ton! I played it through my Acoustic 100 Watt Tube Amp with 4x12 Celestion speakers.

@@ferrandomtv521 it's called a bass guitar for a reason...look up the word "bass instrument" on Google and what will come up is not an electric bass, it will be a double bass. It doesn't matter what people call it, a bass is a guitar and so is a baritone guitar. Is a bass ukulele still a ukulele? (Yes they exist). They have the same tuning and shape so yeah, it is still a ukulele. A bass guitar is still a guitar.

Oddly enough the model sheet used for animation has the dark red edges. It was my guide when I was painting it.

It’s SUPER cool to see how someone who doesn’t play the instrument or have luthier training puts together a bass. The tools and techniques aren’t quite all the same, but it gets the job done! Fantastic work

@@TheRugFace Yes "really". A Bass guitar is a guitar *designed* to play in the bass clef. Baritone guitars dance between the treble and bass clef, and Standard tuned electric guitars play in the treble cleff. They *are all guitars*
the low E of a 6 string guitar is in the bass clef. Bass predates guitar, and electric bass is based on the contrabass, not the guitar. It doesn't really matter I'm just being pedantic.
@@TheRugFace Still, the bass guitar was made in the 1930s, and was made to compliment the electric guitar. I am well aware that the bass guitar has it roots in the Double Bass, and other Bass instruments (Which all connect with the grand piano). Still, the fact of the matter is that a bass guitar is a guitar. There isnt any angle that can defeat that simple fact

no a bass guitar is an electric bass when someone says guitar i think of an instrument with 5-12 string(5 if you play five string open g) if you go to a guitar store and ask for a guitar you get a guitar you don't get a bass unless you ask for one.

base guitar and electric guitar are both guitars
your dumb, a bass guitar is still a guitar. its a musical instrument with strings and btw, bass guitars can also have 5 strings. and when you go to a musical store and ask for a guitar, they wont just give you one without knowing what type of guitar your asking for

That one might actually be a bit harder than Crescent Rose, to be honest. I'm already 100+ hours into the 3D modeling for Ruby's scythe, and I'm flabbergasted to how it will come together, but budget pending I may make an attempt to build it this summer.
I wish the would finally do any RWBY weapons... Prop Shop or Man at Arms...

I know I'm late but I'm new to stringed instruments, but can someone explain what tone wood is? I'm guessing something that has to do with vibrations
@@derpyfpv668 Wood affects the tone differently and there are certain woods not considered appropriate for guitars, like plywood.

puklen 1. He doesn't play guitar bass guitars and electric guitars look very similar. It's very easy for someone who doesn't play or know much about either instrument to make that mistake.
2. It's called a bass GUITAR. It's a type of guitar. It's a guitar with four strings and plays bass. That doesn't make it not a guitar.
