Just bought a Mercury Grand Marquis for my grandparents (and fixed it up, of course), and my grandfather introduced this song to me. I love Alan Jackson, and this was the first I’ve heard of this song. Now, I can’t stop singing it.
I just bought a 73 mercury colony park wagon with the big 460 big block on eBay won the bid for 5K going to pick it up in Idaho in a couple weeks I'll be bringing a pair of white fuzzy dice with with me oh, and an Alan Jackson cassette
This was one of my father's song. We used to dance to it polka style, can't help but LOVE it. It lighten up my morning enjoy with a tasty cup of coffee☕🥰
I just smell stuff and I'm back on vacation when I was a kid. Crazy huh? No I'm not sniffing glue. Just sensing the leaves and the river and it always takes me back
I'm 67 now, but my first car at 17, a senior in high school, was a 1967 Mercury Monterey convertible. Sand colored with a palomino top and leather seats. Sweet. Cruising the local drive in burger joint every Friday and Saturday night. Driving the back roads with the top down.
This Friday, June 2 I am buying a 1964 Mercury Monterey, it is hardtop with the signature Mercury Breezeway window and an Marauder 390 V8, I can not wait!
My Daddy passed in December 2019. His FAVORITE SONGWRITER was Alan Jackson. After his funeral service at the church, we all walked out to MERCURY BLUES, cuz Dad LOVED FORDS, and especially...wait for it...MERCURYS!!!

I love this song but haven't heard it in a long time. I actually saw one of his concerts as a kid and this is the last song he played. I remember because I was waiting for it to be played. When I was little my grandfather owned a 1950 Mercury and he was the one that got me into the song. He eventually sold it but gave me half the money. I really loved that car, we took it to a few car shows when I was little.
