Really happy about the steam clipping stuff, as an avid Steam Deck user I've really missed being able to clip awesome/funny moments in games, so this is perfect
It's just funny, how besides Brawlhalla (and hopefully RoA2) no other platformfighter can even come close to the success of Smash. And WB really messed up with how greedy they were with Multiversus.
If Nintendo keeps their actual games on cartridge/disk like they do now (and it's not just an installer like xbox/ps) waaaay more people will turn to nintendo for "game preservation"... one thing i like about the switch over the other ones, is that a game you download or on disk will work offline no matter what unless specified... you have to run hurdles on ps and xbox to make games run offline
It's been joked about for decades, but imagine a Nintendo where the hardware is there, the 1st party software is there, and the 3rd party software is there. Certainly a formidable thing that I will believe it when I see it.
@@jordanwhite352 I pity Nintendo. They're supposed to announce their Switch successor in the coming months, but how the heck are they supposed to price it? Why would a fan not be somewhat optimistic for a TV show adaption? You can have at least some hope like the Fallout TV show, which was great. Sure most of the adaptions suck but why not have a little hope and stay up-to-date with it.

Multiversus proved TWICE now with its first beta run before shutting down for a year then in its full release that no matter what, the game needs to be fun to play and get through. No amount of WB properties can make me want to continue through it. I had the first battle pass and some of my characters carry over from the beta and it felt like such the biggest chore to log in every day just to continue to get through the veeeeeery mediocre battle pass. Once S1 was over and my returning player benefits ended, I never looked back. At the end of the day, if you want to compete in the Platform Fighter space, your game needs to be GOOD. For a good plat fighter y’all, peep Rivals of Aether 2. Quite possibly the best feeling plat fighter ever imo. Playing actually makes me care about completing its free BP.
Death Stranding also wasn't published by Sony on PC which was weird and an indication of it not being a regular Sony IP. I imagine the original deal Kojima made with Sony all the way back in 2015 allowed some exceptions. I imagine whether Death Stranding 2 comes out on Xbox or not will depend on its publishing with deal Sony. For example Sony owns the IP for Sunset Overdrive ever since they bought Insomniac but they can't release the game on PlayStation because of the original publishing deal Insomniac had with Microsoft.
The things you said about rocksteady and Nintendo 3rd party strategy got me thinking. Rocksteady developers are not the same ones that made Batman before so no telling what we will get. If Nintendo starts getting 3rd party games, there would be no reason to buy another console anymore besides for exclusives
As long as Switch 2 backwards compatibility is not tied to their subscription service like it is now with say N64 games I'm all in if it is purely buy the new console, play your old games . They didn't explicitly state it wouldn't be tied to any subscription service in the Q&A
Let me ask does Sony locked backwards compatibility behind PS Plus? If no then why do you think Nintendo, the company most tout online to be "less modern thinking " would figure out. a way to do such a thing...
The contracts with publishers are probably only for the current Switch. To sell the games on the new system, they need a new contract. So this will be probably a case by case case, similar to how it was done on the Xbox consoles back compatibility.
No... Kojima clearly put death stranding on xbox now for a reason... Playstation exclusivity is costing publishers millions, and every third party exclusive has underperformed
@Tacitus_kilgore_1903 These games don't sell well on Xbox. Its reason why these games were exclusive to Sony in the first place. Even with FF15, which was multiplatform, 80% of it sales came from Playstation. Xbox only accounted for 9%. Death Stranding 2 will still be exclusive until Sony is done with it.
@@countquackula8539 Kojima Productions now owns the IP 100%. The only way Sony gets exclusivity for the next game is if they pay Kojima for exclusivity. And it seems like some publishers are steering away from that. Sony can approach the studio for an exclusive deal, but the studio can still refuse
I would love to see a game where you get to choose what kind of Batman you want to be. either a Batman that doesn't kill or a ruthless Batman that does kill.
For that Mass Effect series. I'd only really be interested if it follows the story/lore of the games. And they don't try to create their own lore that ignores established stuff in the process or change stuff.
All WB would need to do with GoT as a game is copy the success of Bethesda and they would have a monster hit. With ES6 so far off still, they have a window to absolutely steal that crown given how terrible Starfield ended.
Multiversus really needed something of a full rework when it relaunched, I could never get into it too much of the weird floaty feeling and the the skill system. Plus it was going up against Smash and Rivals of Aether, the only thing it really had were the IPs and those lose their novelty relatively quick.
So many dead or poorly utilised IPs. Feel like an old man but I really loved Batman Beyond as a kid. I'm okay with it not coming back if some corpo is just gonna gut the artistry for nostalgia.
I was gonna check out Death Stranding on Xbox but when I go to look up gameplay it's all cut scenes. Not for me, sorry. But I'm glad to see people supporting this release on Xbox and I'm glad to see exclusivity fizzling away.
If exclusivity fizzles away, then you'll see the one company not willing to let go of exclusives (Nintendo) get all the games, and everyone will buy that one console, and Nintendo will have a monopoly and can be even more anti-consumer than they already are. Competition is a good thing. Choice is a good thing. The less competition there is, and the fewer choices we have, the more these companies can screw everyone.
maybe Nintendo should go back to free multiplayer and break off the subscription service with everything else? Like provide online gameplay for free, but if you want the other services then you pay.
Now that WB finally admits that MultiVersus ain't all it's cracked up to be, hopefully WB will be willing to collab with Epic again to bring their DC skins back to Fortnite.
Multiversus is a bit of a mess. I understand why they pulled the game for an engine upgrade, but the game is still much slower and floatier than Smash even with all the upgrades, and nobody wants to spend 20 bucks on a skin that only looks slightly different than the default, of which there are plenty. Ntm The fact that they made the grind even grindier.
The Decima engine isn't the first Sony Developed engine to go multiplatform: The PyreEngine has been used since 2007 (according to wikipedia) and the first time I knew of its existence was for Dragon Quest Builders.
The steam recording feature is huge. The amount of times I want to save a clip and Nvidia shadow play is turned off for no reason is too many times too many
Warner needs to do the most risk averse thing and drop compilations. Drop a Midway Arcade Treasures. Do a Fighting Game Collection. They have over 40 years of content, they could even claim, game conservation with it. Of course they would need someone else to be the face of those claims, Zaslav kind of burned bridges with Batgirl and Coyote vs Acme.
I would definitely pick up “death straining the Director cut” if it was released on Nintendo new platform day one. I really do believe this game would be awesome on handheld.
The reason I dropped Switch Online was not due to new games on the service, it was due to inflation of everything and not being able to get the service back
Honestly switch 2 being backwards compatible makes me scared, there's many hard to get switch games, when the successor comes around and everyone is going crazy about it its gonna be hell to get some games
It sucks that exporting your save file from the base game windows version isn’t transferring to the Director’s Cut even though it should work. Hoping for a fix.
nintendo investor explanatory materials - this is what nintendo needs. a lot of 3rd party support. poll - haven't play the game yet. comment of the day - yes.
As long as the new Nintendo system still has the portable functionality, I will buy it 100%. I play my switch exclusively in handheld mode since the system launched.
I really hope they don’t screw up that Mass Effect TV series. It’s as ripe for adaptation as it gets, I can’t think of a better gaming IP to turn into a show
Console market leader selling IP for money... Hmm Is this not the real story here. Did all those cancelled live service games and concord hurt the bottom-line?
16:00 - I think this is why Sony and Microsoft obsess over new systems because if third parties start releasing on Nintendo's next system folk will want Mario games and a version of current AAA games. So the best version of these games will always be available on PS5 or XBOX and maybe in some cases an inferior version on Nintendo. Personally I enjoyed the ports on the Switch like Kingdom Come, Skyrim, and The Witcher 3 - It does the job.
I really want Dragon Age Veilguard and Baldur's Gate 3 on the Switch 2. Like, at launch would be nice! Having both of these fantastic RPGs with me on the go on a system that also runs Nintendo's games would just be mind-blowing to me.
I don’t know how WB is surviving at this point. They are hemorrhaging money in ways that make Ubisoft look like a successful company lol. Their movies are failing, their games are failing, I don’t know anything that is successful
The live service bubble has popped, it now looks like WB is moving everything towards Hogwarts Legacy 2, their only IP that has sold really well in the last 5 years.
Mass Effect could be a great series, if they hire people that worked on previous star trek shows and try to use as many practical effects as possible. They won't do that though, we're gonna end up with a cgi Garrus and a bunch of writers who have never played or care to play the games.
Once again the best way to start the day and end the work week….Spawn Wave gaming news …this weekend putting my PS5 Pro to the test and so far I’m very satisfied!!
But fr tho, now that Nintendo is gonna have more 3rd party support, SONY and MS need to invest way more into their first party. I’m a Sony fan but Sony 1st party Ip in terms of pure sales just don’t do as good generally as Nintendo. Hopefully Astro bot is the start of this where we can see them be more creative and start relying more on old and new first party IPs. And also make a handheld AND put the PS Store/ APP on multiple platforms.
I had my membership for five years but just let it expire this month; not enough is going on for me to justify it right now. If they would put the GBA Pokémon games on it, I would buy it again, but since they are gate keeping it as they are doing with shinies and making you pay for them through Pokémon Go, it's probably not going to happen.
Call me crazy, but I don't currently see a reason why a Wonder Woman game would be something people would be interested in. There's been so much super hero slop over the past decade that it sounds like a day 1 loss to me.
Mass effect TV show series I'm a straight up say no!. Especially by Amazon, after they screwed up War hammer 40K. that's no longer in the works. We Can't even trust Netflix for the Witcher/One piece LiveTV series.

It's just funny, how besides Brawlhalla (and hopefully RoA2) no other platformfighter can even come close to the success of Smash. And WB really messed up with how greedy they were with Multiversus.
Smash is shite
@@Alex-xt2gn still the most successfull. And unlike with MV, barely anyone has complained about Smash's monetization.

13:00 they also lack a lot of functions
If Nintendo keeps their actual games on cartridge/disk like they do now (and it's not just an installer like xbox/ps) waaaay more people will turn to nintendo for "game preservation"... one thing i like about the switch over the other ones, is that a game you download or on disk will work offline no matter what unless specified... you have to run hurdles on ps and xbox to make games run offline
It's been joked about for decades, but imagine a Nintendo where the hardware is there, the 1st party software is there, and the 3rd party software is there. Certainly a formidable thing that I will believe it when I see it.
@@JWBR84 That was called the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
The Super Nintendo
Does the Nintendo Switch mean nothing to you?
Nintendo can give us the best hardware but the price would be 1000$, who's gonna buy it?
You mean the Nintendo Switch, the 2nd best selling game console of all time?
I absolutely love death stranding got over 200 hours into it
Gotta say it:
That $700 price point for the PS5 Pro doesn’t look as bad as it used to with 20%+ tariffs on the horizon.
Now I'm expecting the PS5 is going to be like $1,200 based on the new tariffs and chips.
@@jordanwhite352 I pity Nintendo. They're supposed to announce their Switch successor in the coming months, but how the heck are they supposed to price it?
Start high in anticipation of tariffs, destroying the early marketing hype they will have, and maybe if the tariffs don't come through they can do a price cut and hope that they recoup the marketing losses?
Announce it at their intended price first, and then mark it up later?
Wild times.
I don't understand why people pay so much attention to video game adaptations. 90% of them are steaming pile of crap.
Why would a fan not be somewhat optimistic for a TV show adaption? You can have at least some hope like the Fallout TV show, which was great. Sure most of the adaptions suck but why not have a little hope and stay up-to-date with it.
@@burlyzuluWith video games having basically become barely interactive CG animated films, why would a fan even want with an adaptation to a narrative medium?
Nostalgia bait = profit
@@burlyzulu because the videogame already exists?
@@bigduke5902 does it hurt to watch it? The worst thing possible is that the show sucks and no one cares. I don’t see the point of saying you can’t be excited or shouldn’t pay any attention to these adaptions. I was interested in the Halo show even though I knew it would sucked, but I would’ve enjoyed being surprised. I was interested in the Fallout show and I was very surprised. Let the fans be excited/interested in whatever they want.
NSO+ needs to have 1st party DLC included
For that, more Nintendo titles need to actually get DLC. The last game, that got any, is Splatoon 3.
It does. It comes with animal crossing, splatoon, and Mario Kart DLC.
@@Vyse195 it is missing some, like Smash, Splatoon 3 and BOTW.
@@Vyse195 yeah and stopped there, Splatoon 3 should be included as well. And that bothers me, it means not all Nintendo DLC will be there
Thats an awful business model
Multiversus was destined for greatness and WB saw the $ signs and wring it out until there was nothing left but a shell
NSO on Switch 2 needs to enable purchases of those games!
The contracts with publishers are probably only for the current Switch. To sell the games on the new system, they need a new contract. So this will be probably a case by case case, similar to how it was done on the Xbox consoles back compatibility.
U wanna pay $5+ per game? A game you probably won't touch years from now?
@@MusharnaMush And digitally, to boot. Something you never actually own anyway.
@@MusharnaMush For some games? Absolutely yes I do and would.
On the opposite side, so to speak, a Gotham by Gaslight game would be fantastic
Sony sold it to Kojima. Im pretty sure Death Stranding 2 will still be exclusive to Sony for a few years.
The drop in NSO subscriptions could probably be attributed to the huge number of free trials they give out and people just not renewing them .
Jon didn’t mention Death Stranding Director’s Cut is 50% off for the launch on Xbox. 💚 (20$)

I loved Death Stranding. Always glad to see it show up other places for more people to enjoy!
Multiversus was just too slow after the relaunch. The devs never listened, so the playerbase moved on.
This would have been avoidable.
Multiversus really needed something of a full rework when it relaunched, I could never get into it too much of the weird floaty feeling and the the skill system. Plus it was going up against Smash and Rivals of Aether, the only thing it really had were the IPs and those lose their novelty relatively quick.
They Shat the mold when Warner made Gotham knights and kill the justice league with Microtransactions.
Backwards compatibility is in theory why the Steam Deck has prospered. Having a foundation to start a new system is why I bought all the DSs.
So many dead or poorly utilised IPs. Feel like an old man but I really loved Batman Beyond as a kid. I'm okay with it not coming back if some corpo is just gonna gut the artistry for nostalgia.
Funny how easy it is to remember steam, but I couldnt remember the name of the platform people hate. Epic.
Mass Effect tv series? Oh boy... Mass Defect incoming
We already know how this is going to go.
Ah yes Mass Defect. The Kitty0706 masterpiece.

WB really should try to release compilations of older titles/IP. It may not cost too much and bring in a good amount of revenue.
I forgot Nintendo has a deal with Call of Duty now too. Switch 2 has a lot of juggernaut potential.
I was gonna check out Death Stranding on Xbox but when I go to look up gameplay it's all cut scenes. Not for me, sorry. But I'm glad to see people supporting this release on Xbox and I'm glad to see exclusivity fizzling away.
Death Stranding is like RDR2 on foot.
I love the Arkham games. Easily in my top three favorite franchises. But I don't want Rocksteady to make any more without Kevin Conroy.
That's extreme. Roger Craig Smith is a great Batman as well.
maybe Nintendo should go back to free multiplayer and break off the subscription service with everything else?
Like provide online gameplay for free, but if you want the other services then you pay.
Now that WB finally admits that MultiVersus ain't all it's cracked up to be, hopefully WB will be willing to collab with Epic again to bring their DC skins back to Fortnite.
I'm going back to Nintendo....if there still making physical as dominant as digital I prefer them....I need my physical
All I can say about the Switch 2 is it better not be $700 like the dumpster fire that is the PS5 Pro
The Decima engine isn't the first Sony Developed engine to go multiplatform:
The PyreEngine has been used since 2007 (according to wikipedia) and the first time I knew of its existence was for Dragon Quest Builders.
Konami is up Sonys ass. I don’t think Kojima cares, he just wants as many people to play his game as possible.
34M online users x $20 = $680M. Not too shabby.
I would definitely pick up “death straining the Director cut” if it was released on Nintendo new platform day one. I really do believe this game would be awesome on handheld.
The reason I dropped Switch Online was not due to new games on the service, it was due to inflation of everything and not being able to get the service back
Death stranding pulled me in the moment i was going over that hill and the music hit....shit made me say wow...
MAss Effect tv show?! Now i can get lectured about non-binary in live action. Thanks BioWare
Honestly switch 2 being backwards compatible makes me scared, there's many hard to get switch games, when the successor comes around and everyone is going crazy about it its gonna be hell to get some games
Can't believe that after 8 years, the switch never had a significant price drop.
Dude my cart slot is worn out, Im glad it is backwards compatable. Daddy needs a new Nintendo.
I really hope they keep the mass effect lore right. They need the original creators on board and they need to listen to the nerds. Simple stuff.
Im glad death stranding dropped for xbox even though I'm a PS5/PC player. Gives me hope that one day I can play through the entire gears series 🙃
WB Games. Fix the broken ass Arkham game you released on the Switch if you want more sales FF's.
A modern Batman Beyond would be great to see
Dat Mass Effect will be having a lot of Family 🤣
John, sometimes i just wish kojima would make movies or a TV series for his ideas so that he can get better recognition for his stories
10 hours to get in a game is crazy
Mass Effect could be a great series, if they hire people that worked on previous star trek shows and try to use as many practical effects as possible. They won't do that though, we're gonna end up with a cgi Garrus and a bunch of writers who have never played or care to play the games.

Nintendo should take out the playing with friends apect out of the NSO and keep that free and just make the service for their legacy titles.
Really wish multiverses was just a game you can buy and they just charge for skins and cosmetic items with the ability to play offline.
Call me crazy, but I don't currently see a reason why a Wonder Woman game would be something people would be interested in. There's been so much super hero slop over the past decade that it sounds like a day 1 loss to me.
Mass effect TV show series I'm a straight up say no!. Especially by Amazon, after they screwed up
War hammer 40K. that's no longer in the works. We Can't even trust Netflix for the Witcher/One piece LiveTV series.
I for one would love to play Death Stranding on Nintendo's Next Gen system... Alarmo!
