Hi Julie! It’s true that there is space in our planner in 4 places, plus extra paper, that we can use to plan. But we want that new shiny! 😍 Yes, planning should be fun. 😊
Wonderful tips Julie. Notebooks are my go to items to just simplify when I get overwhelmed. I must confess I am always tempted to get something new to try 🤣. Thanks for jumping in this collaboration with us again. Always such a pleasure to have you.
great tips, Julie! I think a lot of people think something shiny and new will move the needle. Most of the time going back to basics and moving forward from there is the best way. Be Blessed!
Great tips and a healthy dose of common sense. I agree with you that we tend to jump on the consumerism/shiny sparkly thing bandwagon. When I reflect I see it over and over again. 🤦♀️
Great video! I love that you remind viewers that what they see on social media isn’t always what they need. I think this is a big issue in the planner community. I also get into planner funks seasonally. I just reach for a clean notebook and pen and plan that way until I can pull myself out of the funk!
I so agree with giving a planner time so you can get used to it. I started the Amplify Planner in October and I was kind of frustrated with it at first. I didn't really like the format and it made me uncomfortable, but I spent money on it so I wasnt going to stop using it. I stuck with it and all of a sudden, over the last month, something clicked. I figured out how it DOES actually work for me and I love it now.
a few months ago you talked about Just going back to a notebook when you felt in a funk with your planner and that really helped me allow myself to let go of my planner for a while and the guilt I felt about having spent money on it …and then not using it.
I have “shiny object syndrome” big time! I find I fall into this more when I’m feeling kind of depressed. Retail therapy allows me to avoid the real issue, until I eventually start feeling better and feel like kicking my ass for all of the stuff I purchased!!
You have read my mind lately. I’m in this funk with planning because I love using stickers, but I feel like my weeks all look the same. But it’s because I use the same stickers from the same people. So for the last few weeks I didn’t pick up my planner and this week when I did, I didn’t use stickers I just wrote out my week. Love my planner but I guess I need to explore different sticker stores. Ugh 😩 this planning is a lot 🤣🤣
Great advice! All my planners are working except my reading planner. Doing what Booktube influencers are doing, just isn’t working. I’m keeping the planner, but slowly altering how I use it.
Yep, been there! That was great advice, Julie! I did that over the summer with too much going on with my daughter's wedding. I just used a pad of paper for lists and it worked out just fine. I felt a little bit of guilt not using my fancy dancy planner, but I got over it.
Hi Julie! There have been definite times that I'm not experiencing joy when it comes to planning. It is definitely okay to try new things when your planning is not working. I think it's also important to see what system what works for you. I agree about using a system that does not work for you. I have done it before & it did not work for me.
So I came up with an idea, an ugly but functional planner. First and second drafts in the development process were on a .69 notebook. Third draft is a planner but still needs some work. :) I’ll keep you updated on how it works out. From now on, I want my planners not so pretty but functional. Lol
I'm thinking of changing up my system this year but I'm scared to do it! I just think something else would be better overall but I've invested already in my normal set up for 2022. Ahhh!
I definitely fall into the planner rut category. I bought a classic HP last October and by June of this year I stopped using it. It wasn't working for me. I think because I just don't have a lot going on in my life that I need to use a planner. So now I have about 25 sticker books and don't know what to do with them. 🤷♀️
What do you mean don’t buy the shiney things? Are you trying to help me and save money and use what I actually have? LMAO 🤣 oh I adore you. It’s great advice and might help me from over spending. Good thing I already bought too many options already so no new shiney things later in the year 😉 I have all the new shiney things now lol I have committed though for the first half of the year. And plan on selling the rest. You did really give some fantastic advice in this video 🤍

Great options. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome! Great tips!! I always get FOMO and try to get on that new planner trend to get out of a funk, but I’ve gotten better… 😅

This is spot on! I’m always trying to Mimic other people’s systems and it really throws me off.

I am totally in a planner Rut and or funk both. Uggg 🤔
I hope some of the tips from this entire collaboration will help you through this.
I was wondering what day you would be chatting with us. Thanks for the tips I am currently in a rut/funk...but I am climbing out.
