Prior to leaving on their expedition on a 'different route' to the summit of Everest, we spoke to Simone Moro to find out exactly what training he would be doing to prepare for the highest peak in the world.

Much respect for Simone. First 4 winter ascents of the 8000m peaks. Even much more respect for surviving a fall from the south face of Annapurna. He has the will to climb and survive.
i find this highly motivating. i often watch this to finally convince myself of going running.
yes it is another very good motivation video. But I like also dangerous things.
Same here
I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me
Good luck Simone, cheers from Poland
My journey to Base Camp was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome culinary taste and training methods!! You bring extreme fitness to the mountains.
Very inspiring, thanks a lot
Lovely clip, he seems a really cool guy.
Very useful tips for training for mountaineering. Thanks for sharing.
Respect.
The kind of present that can be given to myself everyday can vary. Many days it has been a lesson in Awareness through Movement / the Feldenkrais-Method. Something that does it for me. Caring about the coordination and harmony of all the movement that bring myself to the summit.

Superb presentation of Simone Moro's training for Everest. I find it a little hilarious when at min 01:15 he says approx quote: "the most important muscle is my heart, it has to be wider, so it means I have to do long runs instead of faster runs". In other words, Simone will widen his heart in preparation for this...
Everyone know the most psyiological development comes from anaerobic runs. Being aerobic is just having a good fitness base in order to run faster or further before becoming anaerobic. I would argue when your 8000m high and the air is very thin and the oxygen low being in oxygen deficit is actually more similar to faster anaerobic excerise.
fantastic!
Simone ist so sympathisch. Aber auch Ueli mag ich sehr. Beide sind tolle Leute. Ueli ist leider bereits gegangen. Eines Tages aber werden wir alle gehen
Very helpful tips there bro
really nice to see Simone Moro with Ueli Steck. two guys who did a lot for alpine sport

You have Fans in Germany as well !
If I understood Simone, he was saying the long run is good for the heart and preparation for climbing, whereas anaerobic training is not.
mangia come un vero italiano anche in alta quota :-D! sei un grande Simone!
True alpinist
Mah...
Also, at min 01:28 Simone talks about "Lactase Anaerobic" I suppose what he means is: "The lactic acid system is capable of releasing energy to resynthesise ATP without the involvement of oxygen and is called anaerobic glycolysis." SImone doesn't train this latter system for his high altitude climbs. What I find odd is that because of the lack of oxygen at high altitude, wouldn't it make sense to actually train as such?
Lack of oxygen on the environment is different from lack of oxygen in your system (your body). Your heart rate while on a climb does not go up to the lactate threshold because simply if you push that hard you cannot have the oxygen intake that you need to perform. ;)
Un'orgoglio Italiano!!
Insomma...
Stay safe
Tortellini, salame, speck, tiramisu'......Simone non cmva a scalare al Everest.....va a fare il picnic!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) un mito!!!
You get better protein absorption with carbohydrates
I want to know if this training was enough for the climb of Everest and back?
Naah.. he only made it half and got slapped!!
@@khadyuthazarika5975 He has climbed multiple times before. He was exploring a tough route and his partner died in the way. His climbing resume shits on 95% of the climbers
Симоно красавчик,молодец,мужик!!!!
КРУТОЙ
Weird to see dead guy as if he is still alive (Steck)
"Do something different on Everest" Yeah, getting attacked by the Sherpas was something totally different. It is their turf and having some foreigners who didn't need their hands held by the guides and Sherpas, must have annoyed them. I have heard the stories and I don't believe it was anything but jealousy and being made to look bad that there were stronger climbers on their turf. The whole situation made me lose respect for the Sherpas, same goes for the sherpas and villagers that attacked the Isreali group after the earthquakes. If you go there, don't break their rules or traditions, if they attack you, they are trying to kill you, there is no in-between with them.
Sfortunato..
half marathon every day. that's nothing. i do that for 3 months during bowling season... easy
He should train MMA when going to Everest next time.
damislav boy gon throw them hands with Everest
Well. It didn't go well. They almost got killed by the Sherpas for insulting them, begged for their lives and left the base camp.
