    Much respect for Simone. First 4 winter ascents of the 8000m peaks. Even much more respect for surviving a fall from the south face of Annapurna. He has the will to climb and survive.

    The kind of present that can be given to myself everyday can vary. Many days it has been a lesson in Awareness through Movement / the Feldenkrais-Method. Something that does it for me. Caring about the coordination and harmony of all the movement that bring myself to the summit.

    Superb presentation of Simone Moro's training for Everest. I find it a little hilarious when at min 01:15 he says approx quote: "the most important muscle is my heart, it has to be wider, so it means I have to do long runs instead of faster runs". In other words, Simone will widen his heart in preparation for this...

      Everyone know the most psyiological development comes from anaerobic runs. Being aerobic is just having a good fitness base in order to run faster or further before becoming anaerobic. I would argue when your 8000m high and the air is very thin and the oxygen low being in oxygen deficit is actually more similar to faster anaerobic excerise.

    If I understood Simone, he was saying the long run is good for the heart and preparation for climbing, whereas anaerobic training is not.

    Also, at min 01:28 Simone talks about "Lactase Anaerobic" I suppose what he means is: "The lactic acid system is capable of releasing energy to resynthesise ATP without the involvement of oxygen and is called anaerobic glycolysis." SImone doesn't train this latter system for his high altitude climbs. What I find odd is that because of the lack of oxygen at high altitude, wouldn't it make sense to actually train as such?

    • @PcnoicFxman
      @PcnoicFxman 5 лет назад +1

      Lack of oxygen on the environment is different from lack of oxygen in your system (your body). Your heart rate while on a climb does not go up to the lactate threshold because simply if you push that hard you cannot have the oxygen intake that you need to perform. ;)

    "Do something different on Everest" Yeah, getting attacked by the Sherpas was something totally different. It is their turf and having some foreigners who didn't need their hands held by the guides and Sherpas, must have annoyed them. I have heard the stories and I don't believe it was anything but jealousy and being made to look bad that there were stronger climbers on their turf. The whole situation made me lose respect for the Sherpas, same goes for the sherpas and villagers that attacked the Isreali group after the earthquakes. If you go there, don't break their rules or traditions, if they attack you, they are trying to kill you, there is no in-between with them.

    Well. It didn't go well. They almost got killed by the Sherpas for insulting them, begged for their lives and left the base camp.
