7:50 Don't forget to get some simulated number plates on that intermediate signal. For modern BNSF practice, that intermediate signal should be double-headed (RYG, RYG) in at least one direction for the siding at the next signal.
They are GRS Style D colorlight signals. If you pay close attention there are still a lot of them around. I can count at least 15 on the BNSF Hastings subdivision and many many more between Lincoln and Donkey Creek, thats just BNSF in Nebraska, I don't know about Montana but I assume some are still around there as well. Those things look friggin heavy😂 The Atlas/BLMA signals are supposed to be Saftran CLS-20s but they are so far out of scale I can't stand looking ar them, compared to the Showcase signals the Atlas look like toys. The CLS-20 is the new go-to for class 1 railroads... kind of sad to see classic robust railroad signals be replaced by the new cheap chinese crap, poorly cast thin alluminum with poor quality LED arrays being driven too hard just to save a few dollars in production. Layout is looking great, keep up the good work!
Love the signals. I've built a couple Showcase signals and love them. Modelling the GN, I've found that Details West 938 and 941 signals match the prototype pretty well, all pre-built.
Great video love all the extra detail along with the signals who make the solar panels and the rail greasers details are they homemade or commercial kits
Thanks! The solar panel is from the Walthers "Modern Trackside Detail Set." It's a pretty large solar panel, which is somewhat appropriate for an example I saw around the area I'm modeling. However, I think flange greasers typically have a smaller solar panel setup, so the panels included in Walthers' "Intermodal Yard Details Kit" might be more appropriate. -Cam
@ 1:00... a true test of the quality of anyones' finished scenery... remove all the locos and rolling stock and just let the scenery stand all on it's own... this *PASSES* the test... also @ 7:05...in real life, that tail track switch would be tied to the signals... so if it is open, that signal would be red... the dispatcher would be able to give the line up but NOT a clear signal... if allowed to pass the red signal you'd be governed by RULE 9.11(movement from signal requiring restricted speed)- "when a train passes a signal requiring movement at restricted speed, the train must move at restricted speed until its leading wheels have passed the next governing signal or the end of the block system"
Thanks for the kind words and wisdom! Would this rule be applicable too because it's CTC until past the signal? Rule 9.12.1 Stop indication in CTC Territory: “After stopping, (train) at (location) has authority to pass signal displaying Stop indication,” specifying the route where applicable." -Cam
Thank you, sir! I really appreciate it. I've been enjoying your "A day in the life of" series. The radio comms are awesome and really add to the immersion while watching. -Cam
Oops! I meant to put that in the description. I got my kits from here: www.showcaseminiatures.net/ho_scale/ho_scale_signals_wigwags_trackside_details/ The signals I made use the following parts: - Ground Mast Assembly #2 - Multi-Aspect Color-Light Signal Head - US&S type Junction Box Base - D-Type Color Light LED Assembly -Cam
Looking awesome cam I fished my layout as well I think your right that bn had these for years as remember 95 I would belive beacuse these last ones on the high line sub
Great work, so fine and I'd bet threading the wiring through is a bit fine. I like the dimmer look rather than the over bright leds on some of the show layouts in the UK. I'm dying to make a start on mine and as I've said before I envy the space you have.
@railfan220 I would like to but the garage needs clearing out and organised. I'm hoping to retire in the next 10 years and want to make a start, I'm also planning on hand building my own points once I get some plans drawn up.
Very impressive work. As someone who has been working on a custom ABS signaling setup for over a year now, I can appreciate the work.
Thank you! You certainly know it's a lot of work, and I'm just using off-the-shelf Digitrax products to control my signals.

Very well done layout - thousands of hours - and it shows.
This is a great video and excellent modern modeling work. It is so good to see your progress on this layout.
Thank you! I really appreciate it.

Looks great Cam. I am a big fan of showcase miniatures. They make really nice kits.
Thanks, John! They do make awesome stuff.
-Cam
Thanks for explaining the signaling on your layout. I like those Showcase miniatures signals and the dimmer lighting.
Thanks, Derek! They're super cool signals. Glad you like them.

As long as they have blue-green signals and not lime green LEDs!! 😲 😁
Well done! Looks great man!
Thanks, Josh! I appreciate you watching.

Awesome! The aim of those signal heads is a sublime little detail! (Which I think matters)
Great, i Wish to have place for a layout like that

Thanks! Yeah those DW signals are exactly what I'm going for. They look awesome. Where on the GN system are you modeling?

Awesome update. Interesting catch, the CP SD70ACU in the lead.
Awesome 👍😎
Well done.

yes rule 9.12.1... and also you'd have to move at restricted speed (i forgot your modeling CTC)
What brand are these coal gondolas?
Most of them are Walthers RD-4s. The few smooth-side hoppers I have are ExactRail models.

you are an incredible modeler all the way around! Great work!

@@railfan220 aww thanks Cam I really appreciate it!!
So what do you use for detection?
I use two Digitrax BDL168s. I explain my whole signaling system in-depth in this video: ruclips.net/video/sgi1OPDVeB8/видео.html

hello railfan220 & it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks railfan220 friends randy & super cool signaling thanks good friends randy
Thanks, Randy! I always appreciate your comments.

Great stuff
Thanks!

Thats awesome! It would cool to see operations on the layout from the dispatchers room.
Thanks! That would be pretty cool to see. I'll try to get some video of the dispatcher next time there's an ops session.

Looks great. Well presented video too. Cheers Peter.
Thanks, Peter!

Hello railfan220! May I know where can I find this signal kit?
