Porsche GT2 RS MR My Fastest Nurburgring Lap EVER - I'M SPEECHLESS!

- The Porsche GT2 RS MR is the fastest road car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and my experience of a hot lap tells me exactly why! Blasting from bridge to gantry in a mere 6:55.5 with Tim Morley at the wheel of Robert Mitchell's Manthey Racing Porsche, it's quite something to behold.
During the Manthey Racing Trackday hosted on the Green Hell we are surrounded by incredible Porsches of all descriptions but arguably none more special than the Ring's record holder in the form of a few GT2 RS MRs dotted around, one of which belongs to my friend, Robert Mitchell.
To get an understanding of what exactly this car is, and how it set a full laptime record of 6:40.3, Robert takes a break from his new RUclips channel to show us around and explain through the host of track time focused modifications that Manthey Racing have made to it. From there on though it's into the passenger seat with Tim Morley at the wheel to be shown what it's made of. Tim has covered thousands of Ring laps, including running as a taxi driver, and many at the wheel of this car and as such knows a thing or two. The car itself has pounded round in excess of 500 times and even on this lap it's smooth, comfortable, not bouncing off kerbs but proving a point that this is a serious force to be reckoned with.
Without any shadow of a doubt, it's the fastest lap I've ever experienced at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and a huge thanks goes to Robert, Tim and the team at Manthey for this opportunity.

You fucking legend, Tim. That was a brutal lap, so much skill and such a capable car. That green RS you came past at around 13:20 turned into a green smudge of paint so incredibly quickly I refuse to believe he was even moving.

Cudos to your amazing driving skill Tim. All the way through that lap I kept thinking that one instant of miscalculation or distraction would put you both in the wall. Yet you did it and made it look easy at the limit. I'll re-watch this lap as it was a wonderful experience.

The most amazing thing is that the freaking car has 690 HP! Through the rear wheels! At no point during that lap did the car look anything but planted. Just goes to show you that proper aero and suspension tuning and tumble lap times as much as or more than just throwing more power at it. Pretty fun to see Tim a little shaken as well. He is usually so calm and composed. Awesome video!!

@@vinnycris Times at the Ring can't be measured from a single place, as the drivers don't actually complete a full lap. The convention is to measure from the bridge they go under just after getting up to speed until the gantry once onto the finishing straight. The BTG time is therefore all you'll see for the lap time for nearly everyone.
Can we also appreciate how god damn amazing that driver is. He has so much skill and knowledge, he’s using everything the cars got
With R tires and no traffic, that would be close to a 6:45 BTG any day of the week. Absolutely insane.
He's using like 90% of what the car has, even with a passenger in it. 6:55 BTG is very fast but still like 35 seconds off what the car can do with a factory driver
Sub 7 min with none optimised tyres whilst deliberately avoiding the kerbs to reduce wear on the car is damn impressive

Senna is a piece of crap compared to a gt2rs . At least on track .

Oliver Valdes The downforce figures are about 3-5x more than THIS GT2RS. More downforce and more power. It’ll be like a GTE against an LMP2

Well that lap was phenomenal! The joy of doing a lap with someone who knows the track and the car so well. The grip levels on display here are almost physics defying!

Watching Tim's lap in the GT2RS makes Tim's own laps feel like a Sunday drive (understandably). Such attack and aggression, super interesting to see.
What an epic, EPIC ride that was. Best part is to see Tim enjoy it so much, what with all the hard work he does to provide content about these types of fast and exlusive cars. Being speechless speaks volumes.. glad we all got to experience that lap.

You should see the Volkswagen ID.R... I’ve never seen anything in my life move the way that car did at Goodwood last year it was absolutely nuts.

I had the absolute pleasure to experience this Apex GT2 MR myself recently and words can not describe this insane Experience ! Tim Morley can drive beyond belief ! Mixed emotions of absolute fear and excitement. Was truly amazing.

Only thing I can think of watching that lap is how insanely effortlessly the car deals with it all, ofc the driver is super capable and know the track better than the back of his hand but you can tell, he dont have to fight the car, it just goes where he wish without any complaints... amazing!
Robert Mitchell, easily one of the best technical teachers. Takes something as complex as aero and makes it understandable and interesting.

Props for the car.. but Robert's driving is out of this world.. I've seen many Nurburgring laps.. but the way he chose his racing lines is just amazing! On many occasions he held it flat out where the rest would brake..
