Thank you for viewing my cover.
I've been playing over 55 years now and I still practice new technique and patterns I can't play.
The uniformed and mean-spirited comments are not aimed at my drumming but refer to my expression of the song’s drumming. And worse, they are from people whose channels reveal that they are neither musicians or have any knowledge of drumming.

i’ll never understand the hate for this video, especially with the hate coming from people who have no knowledge of drumming. with many of my cousins being experienced drummers, i’ve always wanted to learn. 3 years after finding this video, i still finding myself air drumming the entire duration of the guitar solo perfectly, this video has always brought me so much joy, not only because of the unique spin taken, but the simplicity yet beauty.

I know this was done a long time ago but... Your interpretation of the song was really wonderful. The drum track could have been played the way you played it, no one would have been the wiser. I loved the info at the beginning, do you remember where you got it? It was great to read. I remember the first time I ever heard this song like it was yesterday and I was walking to my next high school class in 1976. This was playing on the radio and a group had gathered around to listen. When it finished there was dead silence for actually several minutes and then questions galore. Yes it was Queen, what the hell was it? It was a Rock Opera like "Tommy"... No, Tommy had lots of songs, this was one song. Yes but with a bunch of different parts. But it wasn't Rock, was it? ...and on and on and on it went, for months after that day. In my opinion, it's one of the greatest songs that was ever written and Freddie Mercury was a true artist. You sir did this proud, I enjoyed it. Thanks!

Hey my friend, thanks for checking this out once more and the encouraging word regarding the drum sound. The above description lists the 3 software programs I used to get that sound if you're interested. Did you know that Queen recorded each section separately instead of from beginning to end in one take? Well I did it in one performance take and, if I may, played ensemble accents that Roger didn't play which should have been played.

@@rhythmantic Hi Sal, I've been enjoying your work for about 6 years now. I am 70 years old, and retired from the Air Force as an Aeronautical Engineer, about 5 years ago. Since i retired i have resumed drumming and learned piano and bass guitar. My formative years were as a teenager in the 60s, which was a fabulous time for music. I learned to play the drums in the school cadet band. Then bought a drum set and joined 3 guitarists covering hits of that era such as Nineteenth Nervous Break Down. We would play at church halls for the local young people. Once i started university i had no spare time and sold my drums. 45 years later after putting everything into family and career, i had some time to do what i enjoy, and so got back into music. I am in 3 bands. For one band i play bass guitar for Rock 'N Roll. In another i play drums for Blues. In the other one I play drums for iconic songs of the 60s & 70s, plus some original songs. I always check first with your channel when I'm learning a new song, in the hope that you have covered it.
I am not on facebook. I was intrigued that anyone could write a negative thing about your work, which is top shelf. All i can surmise is that some of the young ones think that a cover should be an exact replica of the original. There are lots of school kids who do good replicas. What i like is your interpretations. Most of the drummers of the classic songs were in their 20s or perhaps early 30s when they made their records. People like Ringo, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Phil Collins, are hard to improve upon. While a lot of the others did a good job, if they lived to be 50 or 60, would probably think of ways they could have done those songs better. With your experience, and high level skills and knowledge, you provide interpretations that not only do the songs justice, but enhance the song.
People on social media think that all opinions have equal weight. I grew up in an era where we would would only offer a comment if we had the credentials to do so. We could all quickly work out who the smartest person in the room was, and if it wasn't us, we'd keep quiet lest we make a fool of our selves.
I'll keep checking your work when i get new songs to learn. I also like the fact that you just play the song, rather than spend time trying to explain it, like some channels.
      All the very best.
      Bruce

@@brucefox1674 Hey Bruce, thank you for your comments. I'll be 70 in a couple of months. I am a vet from the USAF (Vietnam era). I like how you described my approach to covers as it is very accurate. Thanks again and keep drumming!!

      Hi Sal,
1950 was a good vintage. The other important information on your channel is the selection of technology you have chosen.
Lots of people can play along on their drum kit and copy/replicate what they hear in a song. But you invest a great deal of effort in emulating the original equipment to match not only the rhythms but also the original sound.
And some people think if they put a microphone in front of their kit, the result will sound good to the audience. In one of my bands we are lucky enough to have an IT guy who acts as our sound engineer, and he does good job. It is very time consuming and he has taught me a lot.
Your sound engineering is immaculate. Your choice of technology to achieve this outcome is the result of lots of trial and error on your part, and represents valuable intellectual property. It is generous of you to share this information on your channel with the links showing the technical and purchasing details.
For any young person who aspires to becoming a serious drummer, your channel is a valuable resource. Young people would do well to learn from your resources.
      Best regards, Bruce
