My custom conversion will not go to active. I've tried everything I can think of. My domain is verified, my pixel events are working, the Facebook Pixel Helper extension in Chrome reads the pixel on the landing page but not the custom conversion. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi has there been a recent update with facebook? When you get to the pixel section on the ad. It doesn't let you pick your pixel. The only option is gives is "Custom Conversion" and then in the conversion event section. I pick my custom conversion that I set up. Is this correct?
Great content Tom, love the transparency. Quick question on conversion ads: Nowhere in your videos do you mention attribution setting, which defaults to "7-day click". If you run an ad for conversions for 7 days, the algorithm won't make any changes based on ML because it needs to wait for the 7 day window to start rolling. Do you set your attribution to "1-day click" instead to get more immediate ML feedback on your ads?
@@tomdupreeiii Ah 1 day view is smart, I think with the changes to iOS tracking you probably get better data off of views (since the clicks all come through as unknown now). I also noticed that the click track rate vs what I see in hypeddit is off a little too. If you have time, one more question. You mentioned you run on all stories types because Spotify likes traffic from different sources. Are you still doing that? I'm seeing longer video plays consistently on some of the categories.
Tom, this was the most helpful video I've seen (from anyone) in a while! I have a client whose Landing Page Views campaign is getting amazing "Landing Page Views" results but ultimately not converting as much as I'd hoped into actual Spotify "plays." Gonna try this to test!
Cross reference your results by impression on Facebook with where your streams are coming from on Spotify. Also, remove ages 13-17 if you've included them. Most bots appear in that age demographic.
@@tomdupreeiii Thanks I'll try 18 n up and see if that helps. Targeting us,CA,uk, au is the only way I've got my conversions to match my streams so far, but my cpc is insane lol
Hey Tom my pixel is active but when i try to set up a custom version it doesn have the green dot to the left of it. I already sent date to the pixel from testing the landing page as well. The 'Create" button is graded out when i try to finish creating a custom conversion.
I don’t know why but this didn’t work for me I followed all the steps , when I click test events I only get page view and view content and my custom conversions are still inactive
I love your content and find it super helpful but this has broken me. gone through these exact steps numerous times with no joy. canoot get these custom conversions to work
You can do that with a traffic (link click) campaign. That's the best way to do it. Technically you could do the same thing with a conversion campaign by using a link forwarding service like PixelMe, but then it wouldn't be an actual conversion campaign, which sort of defeats the purpose.
I'm still getting the hang of this. Do I use just the one campaign however add a new adsets and ads in the campaign folder or do i create a new campaign with new adsets and ads etc for each song?
trying to do this with "tiktok" as they keyword since toneden has the tiktok option. But it doesn't show up in test your events (i'm just seeing view content). Any idea why?
Please help! When I create an ad in ads manager, the custom conversion events I created doesn't show up in the drop down menu of "conversion event" when setting up the ad.. Any suggestions? Thanks for the detailed video!
@@tomdupreeiii Here is the message im getting "You can't use any of the events you're sending through this pixel to optimize for ad delivery. This may be because the domain where this pixel is placed already has the maximum amount of events prioritized for optimization through another pixel"
Hi Tom, great video! I am having a problem with creating a custom conversion for spotify (or any streaming service). I've set everything up just like you have in the video but I can't get the custom conversion to go from inactive to active on the custom conversions page (even when I try to get it to fire thru the test events page) Wondering if you've ever run into any problems like this? Thank you so much
hi tom ..... thks for the video it has been helped me alot, 1 question, whean i went to set up my campaing, I dont see my pixel number, i do see its says pixel nd under custom conversion, nd under conversion event, which i have to pik between two events that i created, i was wodering, why can NOT see my pixel number on the campainge yet .... any suggestions, on how to fix it ? i'm about to cry ..... i spent two days lookin for the answer but i dont know, what i did wrong : (
Hey glad this video has helped! You won’t see you pixel ID at the campaign level, but you should see it in the ad set. You can also confirm it’s selected at the ad level as well at the very bottom of the screen.
@@tomdupreeiii hey there !! One last thing ..... I watched this video .....nd for TONEDEN you dont need to do this set up custom conversion process right ? ...... cause I think for toneden just work VIEW CONTENT, (configure web events on the aggregated event measurment) right ?
Hi, Tom. One question here. Let’s say if I just want to use ‘ToneDen’ link to setup Facebook Pixels and Conversion, the Custom Conversions is it have to setup straight with Spotify URL that fired by ‘View Content’ from event setup tool? Need your reply as soon as you can. Thank you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Before hitting Apply, I get "Some ads may miss conversions on iOS 14.5 devices after this update." What on earth do they mean 😭😭😭😭😭 All I did is just made the Purchase "Custom", for better tracking (I made a custom conversion and set it up to track any url that contains "orders").
It sounds like a warning that may not be much to worry about. There are a lot of those floating around inside the ad experience right now. I'd run the conversion and just pay attention to the results by device to ensure iOS devices are reporting correctly.
Are this events showing data like the other events from FB? Lately I cant see the countries from my view content event. They just appear as unknown but the impressions do have specified countries. Do you know why that is? Is there a way of knowing the countries from the view events clicks?
Unfortunately these custom conversions will behave the same way. Facebook no longer shows conversion breakdowns. The best we can do is to gauge things by impression, which isn't great but I guess is better than nothing.
My event never showed up. It shows that it’s active every time we run the test it never fires. We figured out that for some reason it was firing underpaid view and viewed contact. We did it all over again It’s showing that it’s active but it will not fire in the test and it will not come up as an option in events. Anyone?
Did you notice any difference in results between Standard conversion events and Custom conversion events? Is it a good idea to switch from a use of ViewContent to a Custom conversion event?
Tom my song has a popularity score of 22% and it only got a small push on RR, 50 streams in the whole week :( Why is this? Your supposed to get big spikes if ur song is over 20% popularity score... right? I’m so dissapointed 😭
Unfortunately Release Radar is heavily influenced by your followers. Until your artist popularity score is higher (which requires a high average pop across your top 10 songs), mostly only your followers will see your new releases in their Release Radar. Don't worry though, a higher popularity score on a track does also influence Radio, Daily Mix, and Discover Weekly.
SAVED MY ENTIRE CAREER. Thank you Tom!
So glad it was helpful!
this still works right? even if the video is 2 years old (considering all the updates of meta in that timespan)@@tomdupreeiii

Just your own domain, though a website is highly recommended!

You're right, I haven't touched on this. This is a great idea for a video. Mine are set to 7 day click / 1 day view.

Every time I click test events and put in the link it works fine but the test events section nothing shows up
Double check you're not running any sort of ad blocker or even try switching browsers to test your events. Chrome works best for me.
