2:23 Keeping my eye out for Jordan Burch in the 2025 class. That cross chop was deadly

a lot of people are here for Penix and Odunze, but Troy Fautanu had a solid game here. For someone who is probably closer to 280 than his listed weight (317 LBS) he played with surprisingly solid technique and obviously athleticism. Definitely a guard on the next level and I don't think he is a round one guy because if his small he is, but he reminds me a lot of Zach Tom from 2022.

I wouldn’t be so quick to put him at guard despite the guard’s overall shape/frame that he has. Tom is an interesting comparison because he has a similar frame but despite them trying him all over the line he’s played most of his snaps at right tackle and has played very well there. Tom has decently long arms for his frame and he has incredible feet. Fautanu has freakishly long arms for his frame (34 3/4”!). The shorter stature combined with those go-go gadget arms give him a natural leverage advantage against most guys. I don’t know if his feet are quite at the level of Tom’s but they’re very good. Depending on what my options were along the O line I’d be happy to let him fail at tackle before moving him inside. I think he’s got a shot on the edge. And I think he’s more than 280. I’d say he’s closer to 305-310 than 280. We’ll see in March I guess.

@@joeynickles7962 yeah I was talking to a buddy and he mentioned the same thing that I acknowledged but never considered. He has the nimble-ness in his feet to play outside at tackle if needed. Similar to Tom at right tackle and even a guy like AVT coming out who we felt was a good player at either T or G. I really think Fautanu could play both and he is quickly rising for me. His USC game was really good when I watched him on Saturday and he will probably continue to rise from his initial placement on my board. He's been a guy that as I've watched and let my opinion marinate he has gotten better.

@@thedraftsphere8904 he was friggin awesome on Saturday. Caveat is that it was SC and Alex Grinch but it was still impressive. Really good player.

Love the way Dillon Johnson finishes.

Fautanu looks like a guard filling in at tackle but he almost always neutralizes the defender. its definitely interesting.
