The video was worth it for the set up portion alone. And the Important concepts section worked well too. Top notch job (as always).
Awesome job. Thank you.
Thank you for showing in great detail the game board and tokens, etc. This is so much better than watching somebody talk about the game and you watch them with very little game pictures.
Omg, one of the best and the clearest introduction videos for 18xx games I have ever seen. Excellent job!
Thank you so much 😊
Although this is not really 18xx game, it's more of a euro game.
Many thanks!
Outstanding explanation.
Great video Branislav, i just love they way you explain. Can you also make a guide on how to properly pronounce the city names 😅
That's a great idea! Never thought about it.
Next time I'll put it into the video! :)
Thx for the great explanation! This is a great game! Everybody in my group loves it 10/10.
This was a fantastic how to play. I also appreciate how you include little tips or tricks to help us understand the context of actions.
Thank you. ☺️
Thank you so much for the video! It is excellent. The game is on top of my wish list.
Great tutorial as always
Very clear! thank you!
Another great job! Congrats!!!
Excellent. I am now totally clued up on how to set up and play this game.
Highly appreciate a few things that you do; and you so damn well.
- Provide strategy tips throughout on a few things you need to keep in mind in a game like this. For eg: Its suggested you do get your worker as first action, why to bid to be able to have at least 2 hub cities in your influence and of course that Important Concepts at the end.
- The Setup; man that is one of the most apt setup videos I've seen that caters to 'all' kinds of the variable setups that this game offers. And not just this, even in your other videos; i have to give props to the clear concise way in which you deliver this.
- Your 'order' of teaching. You start off by explaining 'What are we doing this game, what makes you win, what are we targeting" instead of just going directly into the actions. And even the 'actions' you have a very structured flow that helps understand the game.
Really appreciate the work you're putting in here mate; keep it up!
Thank you very much, it's great to hear the structure of the video works well, and that even the setup part is also valuable. :)
Wow, was just trying to find a decent tutorial for Imperial Steam, I'd never seen any of your videos so gave it a shot and this is easily one of the best tutorials I've seen. This channel and Watch It Played with Rodney Smith will absolutely be my go to channels. Can't for Bitoku to come in and to learn it here. :)
Thank you for your kind words. ☺️
Thank you for the amazing explanation, very clear and helpful 🎮
Good job as always! And what a good pronunciation on "Trieste" :D
BTW I love those poker chips! Where did you buy them?
Thanks! ☺️
I got those chips from this site: pokershop.de/BRETTSPIEL-CHIPS
Wow! What an amazing production. I could appreciate the incredible illustration details of the board and components as you explained. The color scheme chosen for the game is delightful.
How do you think this game can be enjoyed by 2 people? And how long has it taken you to play the game? In Chesapeake the 2 player setup helps to keep the game tight and super aggressive, and it takes us up to 4 hours to play for us (due to us forgetting some rules and the analysis paralysis, but we enjoy hard decisions in board games).
Again, amazing work mister!
Thank you. :)
Haven't played in 2p but I think it can work really well with 2p. Definitely not a 4h game for 2p, I think we played over 3h with 4 players, so it's shorter than Chesapeake. And with fewer rules, but still very unforgiving. :)
I‘ve a question about building tracks.
In your video (19:00) your build your first track from Wien to Wr. Neustadt.
You build your 2nd track from Wien to Bratislava AND you say that this would be the ONLY possible way to build another 2nd track because there are only 2 workers left.
Question:
Would it be also possible to build the 2nd track from Wr. Neustadt to Bratislava (also costs only 2 workers) or is this action not allowed because Wr. Neustadt was not connected at the START of this action (this would mean that you can only build tracks in a network which exists at the BEGIN of the „building track“-action)?
Great video! 😊
Best,
Peter
Thank you very much, you're correct, you can also build from Wr. Neustadt to Bratislava. There's no restriction in the rulebook that would prevent it. :)
very well explained and you put a lot of effort into this video. I really like this game, but it is really punishing if you make mistakes.
Yes, it is.
Love your videos. Are you planning to do a Tutorial for Great Western Trail 2nd Edition? :D
Thank you. :)
Not now, still a lot of games from Essen await their tutorials. :) Maybe afterwards.
Hi,great vid. Though you stated that anytime you get more resources than you can store you lose them but the rules are very adamant in that you can rearrange and keep whatever you want. Regards!
Thanks, that's correct. But I believe I have stated the rearrangement as well at some point. Or at least I hope I did. :)
Excellent video, thank you. One question, where did you get those poker chips from, they look very nice indeed.
Thank you. :)
I found them here: pokershop.de/BOARD-GAME-CHIPS
Thank you for this very high quality video. One important question still remains : do you like this game and why ?
Thank you. :)
I have mixed feelings - our first game was a huge frustration and disappointment, hence the section "Important concepts" at the end of the video. It can be totally demotivating experience for first-time players, and we actually have one person who said he would never ever play that game again.
I am a seasoned 18xx player and for me, thematically, Imperial Steam is a non-sense. I had to completely reshape this game in my head, it's a euro game with some thematically disconnected mechanisms. Then it all works great and I like the game a lot. It's a race, it's a struggle for resources with some interesting mechanisms for gaining money, with a lot of depth and decision making. It's very unforgiving, so be prepared to stop the game in the middle of the game if you have first-time players who made some mistakes because they can sit there for another hour (or even more) unable to do anything in the game, because they would not have money and they would not have any resources.
Once you get over it, it can be an excellent game. But I still like 18xx more. ;)
Really great explanation! I enjoyed your rules. We are about to play imperial steam. Do you do rule explanation got 18xx games?
Thank you! I did 18Chesapeake, you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/oGA40VMYe_U/видео.html
Wanted to do more videos but don't have the capacity at the moment.
Great video as alwasys. Your more than welcomed to use those awesome money chips. If you dont mind me asking where can I buy some?
Thank you. :)
These are from here: pokershop.de/BRETTSPIEL-CHIPS
Excelente video, juego complejo donde todo el tiempo estas buscando recursos... in the other hand where can I find those coin ounters??
Thank you! :)
I bought mine here: pokershop.de/BOARD-GAME-CHIPS
I have one doubt, If want build two tracks
Only pay 1 wood, 1 iron and 1 stone?
Or the pay of resources is for each track?
I like the Kings and Queens chips you use. What do you think of them? Are they good quality? They are not cheap.
I think they're the best I've had so far! I use them in all the games where I need chips (18xx games, Fodd Chain Magnate, Brass, etc.). So far I've been 100% happy with them.
Got it... (I think) How do I now stop the nosebleed though?
Where did you buy those poker chips?
Hello, I bought them here: pokershop.de/BOARD-GAME-CHIPS
Applause
Thank you. ☺️
