I wish more artists would speak about their philosophies. I guess it's a barrier a lot of people would rather not break, as it can be very personal... but that's pretty much the most interesting topic of conversation IMO. It can be draining with the wrong person. I think that's why most stay away from it. It's like politics.

I'm not saying things haven't gotten much better, it's just that there is still a lot of underlying (and overt, in some cases) sexism throughout society and it's very important that people aren't ignorant or complacent of that. It is still utterly relevant to discuss it.
I swear to god, I literally just paused this at 0:58 to say that The Fifth Element is basically the best thing ever and Grimes is flawless now in my mind.

I think it used to be much worse, specially in some countries. Take Mexico for instance, where Machismo used to be huge but it's slowly changing. If you look back in history when women used to really be objectified and weren't even allowed to work and they basically stayed home to nurture the kids, because that was the model. Women now can work, are independent and yes, they have more sexual freedom. There may still be males that look to the traditional model, but things are much different now.

I think there are other issues that are far more grave than gender. Race, homosexuality, religion, abortion; these are some issues that I think use to be more serious and have been going on for a long time, but have slowly come at ease. As a male, I still believe females have it good in the world. A mother for instance has warmer overtones and signifies love and we all love our mothers whereas the father is seen more as a father, and if you don't think he's the father, bring the DNA test.
Feminism and Machismo create segregation. I'm not saying identity is bad, it's important to know where you fit in and what function you serve, however, when you have one group trying establish its rules onto other groups begging for dominance, that's when it's wrong. Feminism to me is basically women standing up in rebellion to the traditionally established male domin, which is irrelevant today; we don't see males dominance anymore. A woman takes a man into court, judge will sympathize with her.
Grimes is awful
