    Thank you. This is fantastic. Very detailed and well put together series of tutorials. Helped me set up my entire Camera pipeline with one blueprint. I loved the find the devise Id, saved me from cycling through my IDs randomly which was such a waste of time.

    I have a cinecamera in the world that I want to record with using virtual cam and my iPad. But whenever I try to record virtual cam it just creates a new camera. I'm unable to figure out how to record virtual cam using my already existing cinecamera. Current workaround I have is to just copy paste camera anim but the framing won't be right. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hey there...Thanks for your videos. I have an issue when i try to render out a recorded take, it always renders out the inactive tracked camera, even if i delete it from the scene...any tips please?

    Has anyone had an issue where when you render the sequence the camera is not matching what has been taken in the take recorder? Been stuck on this for days

    Hi,
    In UE 5.01 I am struggling to bake into keys camera shake movement, is there any way to do it?
    I have a master sequence and inside a shot0010, inside this shot0010 i have a cine camera actor which has camera shake blueprint component assigned. What i want is to bake to keys the camera shake movement so whenever I will have to render again my shot to be exactly the same. I did try the take recorder window but maybe i did something wrong and it didn’t work,
    any ideas

    Thanks Aiden for the tutorial, In my case what I'm trying to figure out is how to use Take recorder with the composure for Virtual production. So once the recording is done in Take recorder, then use the composure to output the background and foreground separately.

      @@3d_Something Sorry I dont think I explain myself correctly. what I'm wondering is how to use the sequencer and composure combo. So after key-framing and timing the animations in sequencer, how to get it to output through the composure so you can export the foreground and background layers separately.

    Hello Aiden, I tried record my Tracked Camera with TakeRecorder and I got a new sequence with my tracked camera as Actor inside, but when I try render, its actually the original tracked camera being rendered instead of the camera from the recorded take, any idea what I might have done wrong?

    Help me please. I have game asset with parachute. So Take Recorder record only character paracuter but when I press button to activate blueprint with parachute opening animation, take recorder don't see it and it's transparent on replay in sequence. So when I record character who tuning it's ok, but after some blueprint action like wear new clothes, character immediately disappeared from take recorder sequence ... Do I need to add some spacifical actors to take recorder? Thank you

    How would I export this to an fbx file to work with it on blender or similar software?
    By simply exporting the sequence it's not working... I don't get any movement nor any mesh...

    The vfc is a set distance from the character, the sfi is also a certain set distance, the invisible boundary is a set size around the character. Character speed should increase everything above when compared to the true overworld.

    nice, but if I have a simulated physics on i.e. a chair from the begin //when I hit PLAY ... how can I record this? When I try to press PLAY after the take recornding begun, it ends ...

    Hey Aiden, maybe you know a possible solution to a 2 part error I'm having regarding the take recorder, composure, and virtual camera rendering.
    I currently have a project set up using a vive tracker vcam mounted to a physical camera. I use take recorder to record the vcam movement, so I can render the CG for background composite in post. When I open the recent sequence Take Recorder created- I unlock, and I see all the recorded tracks. I add a camera cuts track and select the vcam. I set my render settings and hit capture movie, and recording begins. Instead of rendering the recorded track as expected, Unreal initiates gameplay and begins rendering the realtime vcam instead - to a png sequence....?
    Additionally, when I try to export the vcam data to fbx - it doesn't seem like any data exports. I opened the fbx in Blender and Cinema4d and there is nothing.
    I'm wondering if Composure Output settings have anything to do with this strange behavior?
    Do you have any ideas - how do you render out from take recorder sequences??

    Hello! I've been following your tutorials lately and it's so nicely explained, I really appreciate your work.
    However, I have a hard time wrapping my head around how to use this camera set up for further processing. Is there a way to display recorded camera in a cinematic viewport rather than in preview only? Should I rather take a look into what you did in "Using a Tracked Blueprint Camera with Composure" tutorial and try setting up a pure camera with all tracking functionality? Is that even possible?

    hey, I think I'm getting something wrong, I've added the camera tracker actor to the take recorder but I dont have the user settings and i cant get it to translate any movement to the sequence editor, I'm using a vive tracker if that is in some way effecting it

    Great, thanks. Currently trying to use it on the new metahuman project. Problem is if I add the live link as a source, it goes through the motion of recording the track as I can see it do it, but when I review last shot it is empty. If I however add the actual metahuman actor as source, not live link, it records all face and head movement perfectly. Problem is I don’t know how to access the live link blendshape data afterwards to clean it up. It’s weird, don’t really understand it yet.

    Nice tutorial. Any idea how to make text on a 3d widget shop up ? The interaction is been recorded but the text on the 3d widget is not showing up in the recording. ?

      ​@@3d_Something thanks for the reply. Just rendered it out and the text appears but it does not changed after i click the widget. Basically it is a 3d widget that opens a door and the text says the state it is currently in either open or closed. Works in the editor and when i test it out as standalone but not in the rendered video.

      @@3d_Something Ok no worries. What i found is even stranger is the colour of the widget when hovered over is been recorded on some of the widgets but not on others yet they are all the same blueprint instances and all work in the editor and standalone but not in the take recorder render.

    Hi Aiden, thank you for your wonderful tutorials, they helped me a lot. But unfortunately I'm facing a problem right now, where the take recorder records only the HUD view and not the tracked camera. I'm using Vive and have followed almost all of your tutorials. Any idea what can cause this issue?

      @@elvinworsley113 hi, yes, I did... But unfortunately it was long time ago and I don't remember how I did it. But there is an easier way to create a tracked camera. Use LiveLink plug-in. You can track trackers, controllers and HUD all independently. Then create an Actor and inside of an Actor add LiveLinkController as a Component. Then in that Component ("LiveLinkComponentController") inside of Details you will find Subject Representation, and there you will have to chose your controller which you want to track.

      This is the method I eoognally wanted to go for, but I'm actually doing a dissertation virtual production and so far all the methods I've tried to use don't work lol

      @@elvinworsley113 so... to your original question. Try turning Auto posses player 1 off. It might help.
      I don't know much about Oculus. Ive been using Vive System. Have you tried connecting your Headset trough Steam VR? As far as I know, Live Link works only with Steam VR. There are few articles written on how to game on your headset trough Steam VR. Maybe it will help with Unreal also.

      @@Mistirina okay ill give that a shot. As far as I know I'm able able get the oculus to connect to steam VR.
      Ah okay all the tutorials I've watched, use HTC vive headsets. I think my oculus headset might not he compatible with the software since its an old model.
      But thanks for the advice, I'll give it a go and see if it works.

    Hello Aiden, great tutorials!! I am setting up the virtual cam in virtual reality with a Rift S. Everything works perfectly, but I have not been able to make it work with the take recorder. When I play the sequence I get the headset point of view and not the tracked camera. Please help!

      @@3d_Something thanks a lot for your help. I think it is. The way I did it was dragging the “tracked Camera” from the outliner to the take recorder. After recording I check the sequence and it has 1 camera cut and 4 actors: BP_motionController, BP_motionController1, MotionCaprtirePawn and Tracked_camera

    hey aiden thanks for the info, im having issues with recording live footage with the VR view as when i record it records what i see in vr but not what the camera sees. Is threre a way to get the footage straight out after recording in unreal?

    the suport and documentation of this engine is so abysmal that it relies on tutorials like this one to make sense of it.
