This comment is long, but here’s a very IN DEPTH explanation on how to stream music! There are three scenarios you may encounter, and sync may differ between vehicles, but here’s how my 2010 Focus works: 1. Press the phone icon on your steering wheel or radio... 2. If you see “No Phone Paired” on your dash, then skip to line 15. 3. If you think you already paired your phone, skip to line 31. 4. If you see “Phone Menu,” (which will be replaced by “Phone Redial” after a few seconds), then continue steps from here. 5. Use arrow keys on the steering wheel or radio to find “System Settings.” 6. Press “OK” to enter “System Settings.” 7. You’ll see “Bluetooth Devices.” 8. Press “OK” 9. You’ll see “Add Bluetooth Device.” (But DO NOT select it just yet, we need to delete all other devices first!) 10. Use arrows to select “Delete All Devices.” 11. Press “OK” 12. You’ll see “Confirm Delete All?” 13. Press “OK” 14. You’ll be brought back to “SYNC Line In” 15. Press the Phone icon on your steering wheel or radio. 16. You’ll see “Add Bluetooth Device” on your dash. 17. Press the “OK” button on the steering wheel or radio. 18. You’ll see “Find SYNC.” 19. Press “OK.” 20. Look for SYNC on your Bluetooth device and try to connect. 21. Enter the Bluetooth pin onto your device (found on the dashboard. Also be super fast to enter it, or you may have to try again.) 22. Once paired, you’ll see “[your device name] Saved,” then after a few seconds, it will say, “Device Connected,” then after a few seconds it will say, “Set As Primary Phone?” 23. Press “OK” 24. You’ll see “Yes,” (to set as primary), or use arrows to toggle “No” (to NOT set as primary phone.) 25. Press “OK” once either option is selected 26. You’ll see “Download Phonebook?” 27. Press “OK” 28. You’ll see “Yes,” (to download phonebook), or use arrows to toggle “No” (to NOT download phonebook.) 29. Press “OK” 30. You’ll see “Phone Menu,” which will revert to “Phone Redial” after a few seconds. 31. Select the talking face on your steering wheel, (it shares the same button as “MEDIA.”) 32. You’ll hear, either “Line In/SYNC/Bluetooth Audio, followed up by “please say a command.” 33. You’ll need to say, “Bluetooth audio.” 34. You might hear, “no Bluetooth devices available right now, I will try to connect one,” or “Bluetooth Audio.” 35. You’ll see “Bluetooth Media Stream.” 36. Try playing music on your Bluetooth device! 37. You should automatically connect to “Bluetooth Media Stream” when you restart your vehicle (if you were lasting using “Bluetooth Media Stream.”) I hope this helps. Ok, I have been trying to pair this phone to my car for 4mos now and it wouldn't work. Would never be able to "see" Sync when I scanned for it. I did everything the right way, the wrong way,& anyway I could...NADA!! So I decided to make sure I was doing it right and saw your video. Watching it and re-doing everything I've already done repeatedly,nothing different or new,and all of a sudden out of the ether Sync popped up and I was able to pair it!! I don't know why or how it happened but it did and I am so glad!! So even though I knew what to do,I guess I just needed to watch this to make it work,lol! I'm still in shock, literally the 1st time in almost 5mos,multiple times a week and multiple tries each time !! You did a great job explaining everything. Hey guys! I figured it out 👍 I have an iPhone 7 and got it to work. It kept saying connecting, so I turned up the volume knob and I got it to say Sync. Then I connected it. It’ll say hands free as the connect option. Good luck!

Sorry this hasn't gotten an answer in over a year but I figured I'd answer for anyone else wondering as well. Mp3 do not have Bluetooth sadly, but you should be able to use the aux port :)

Hopefully the following steps will help you download your contacts. After pairing and connecting your phone to SYNC, press the Phone button to access the Phone menu. Press the Arrow buttons to scroll until Phone Settings displays and press OK. Press the Arrow buttons to scroll until Phone Pred. displays and press OK. Press the OK button to select Auto-Download. Press the Arrow buttons to scroll down and select Downlown now and press OK. Phonebook downloading should display. When finished the Phonebook downloaded should display (this process can take a few minutes depending on number or contacts).
You can add up to 12 phones to the Ford Sync System. The phone that is set as primary will take precedence over any other connected phones. Hope this helps!

@@deiconscious144 the radio doesn't come with it...person who bought the car didn't want Bluetooth option from the factory....nothing do other than buy a aftermarket Bluetooth radio or Bluetooth cigarette player....to tell if u have bluetooth at the bottom of your gear selector they will have a logo power by Microsoft if you don't see that you have no Bluetooth module in the car......and the car doesn't have the plug either for the module of Bluetooth bc if u can find the plug all u need is the module for a scrap yard and u get the Bluetooth to function and work as normal
My Sync with my bluetooth phone was working and now seems to have stopped. Neither of the "phone" buttons on my 2010 Escape seems to be working now and the bluetooth info does not show up on the display.. It was working just fine for 9 months. Any ideas?
You might want to make sure your phone bluetooth is turned on and that your phone is paired with the sync system. We would be glad to take a look at it if you are in the area.
As I said my Sync was working just fine. My phone bluetooth is turned on and it WAS paired with the sync system. The problem is nothing shows up if you push either the "phone" button on the steering wheel or on the dash. I don't even get the bluetooth symbol that used to be displayed.
We would recommend trying to disconnect the battery for five minutes which will force the system to restart. If that does not work it might have an issue with the APIM which would require a visit to a Ford Dealership. Hope this helps.
I just bought a 2010 focus se second hand from a 80 year old. It has the phone symbol but "no phone" is all that comes up. I press the "okay" button, but nothing happens?
@@ONE_PIECE995 Apparently there's just a useless button on the dash with a phone receiver icon on it. You get in and think you can sync your phone, but nope. Really stupid. I also discovered, at least I can't find one, there's no trunk lock to put a key into if you wanted to unlock the trunk that way?

***** Hello iKayAshh! Thanks for watching! If your vehicle only says No Phone after pressing the phone button, your vehicle may not be equipped with SYNC. I’ve tried this and it just keeps saying “No Phone Found.” Idk why… I’ve never had a problem connecting my or any iPhone to any car. It only works and says the message it said when you connected when I hook the phone up to the USB. That’s the only time I see anything that says SYNC.
Hello Michael Sometimes that generation Sync can have difficulties connecting. My suggestions would to be to make your phone discoverable. When you get to the point where you press Okay/Enter when the screen says ‘Find Sync’ use the arrows to find ‘Find Phone’ and then press enter/Okay. That will cause the car to search for your phone instead of using your phone to search for the car. eventually the screen should populate with Bluetooth devices it’s found nearby (hopefully your phone). Select your phone and then follow the rest of the prompts as you see in the video.
You have to use the tune and volume knobs as part of the process to select find new phone. (Turn the knob). I just did it. Pretty sure it was the tune knob that enabled me to select add new phone.
I am trying to pair my phone. I hit the phone button and it reads Bluetooth Off. Every time. And when I ok for it to set Bluetooth on, I hit ok. Bluetooth is on. Hit the phone button, same thing. Bluetooth off. Helllllppppp My phone is bt enabled. I have sync. Help. 😢
This is what's happening to me with my 2010 that I just purchased used! I thought I had it paired at the start but something went wrong. This is incredibly frustrating and I'm not finding information on how to fix this issue!
While this is the easy part what isn’t is the many issues sync has can’t say I’ll be buying another ford after seeing how bad the quality is between seals and even a radio unit
ANSWER: If your Bluetooth isn’t working or won’t turn on all you gotta do is look in your manual for your box box and find the location of the fuse that says “SYNC” pull it out. Turn the truck on. Make sure SYNC isn’t displaying. Turn off truck, reinsert the fuse and walla. BT well now turn on and connect your phone. Don’t fuck with the battery or anything like that.
I think your best bet would be to use an aux cord to connect your phone to the car via the aux input down near where the cigarette lighters underneath the radio. Much easier just to plug it in than have to mess around with the computers.
There is a menu button on the radio press that and select ok. Then, you want to select source in the menu and select Bluetooth. That should pair the audio. Sorry if I didn’t explain it well

The first 5 seconds are so cheesy
if you keep having issues with no connection the fuse box is on the passenger side, the sync fuse is number 3.

I got my phone connected. 2011 Ford Escape.
I've been through 8 different Ford f150 Bluetooth, Non absolutely Zero have shown me anything remotely close to a 2011 F 150 XLT
Can you add more than one phone at a time?

My Sync with my bluetooth phone was working and now seems to have stopped. Neither of the "phone" buttons on my 2010 Escape seems to be working now and the bluetooth info does not show up on the display.. It was working just fine for 9 months. Any ideas?
You might want to make sure your phone bluetooth is turned on and that your phone is paired with the sync system. We would be glad to take a look at it if you are in the area.
As I said my Sync was working just fine. My phone bluetooth is turned on and it WAS paired with the sync system. The problem is nothing shows up if you push either the "phone" button on the steering wheel or on the dash. I don't even get the bluetooth symbol that used to be displayed.
We would recommend trying to disconnect the battery for five minutes which will force the system to restart. If that does not work it might have an issue with the APIM which would require a visit to a Ford Dealership. Hope this helps.

I just bought a 2010 focus se second hand from a 80 year old. It has the phone symbol but "no phone" is all that comes up. I press the "okay" button, but nothing happens?

@@ONE_PIECE995 Apparently there's just a useless button on the dash with a phone receiver icon on it. You get in and think you can sync your phone, but nope. Really stupid. I also discovered, at least I can't find one, there's no trunk lock to put a key into if you wanted to unlock the trunk that way?

***** Hello iKayAshh! Thanks for watching! If your vehicle only says No Phone after pressing the phone button, your vehicle may not be equipped with SYNC. Really? Someone told me that same thing referring to the SIRIUS button, but that was inaccurate.

I’ve tried this and it just keeps saying “No Phone Found.” Idk why… I’ve never had a problem connecting my or any iPhone to any car. It only works and says the message it said when you connected when I hook the phone up to the USB. That’s the only time I see anything that says SYNC.

Sometimes that generation Sync can have difficulties connecting. My suggestions would to be to make your phone discoverable. When you get to the point where you press Okay/Enter when the screen says ‘Find Sync’ use the arrows to find ‘Find Phone’ and then press enter/Okay. That will cause the car to search for your phone instead of using your phone to search for the car.
eventually the screen should populate with Bluetooth devices it’s found nearby (hopefully your phone). Select your phone and then follow the rest of the prompts as you see in the video.
You have to use the tune and volume knobs as part of the process to select find new phone. (Turn the knob). I just did it. Pretty sure it was the tune knob that enabled me to select add new phone.

This is what's happening to me with my 2010 that I just purchased used! I thought I had it paired at the start but something went wrong. This is incredibly frustrating and I'm not finding information on how to fix this issue!
While this is the easy part what isn’t is the many issues sync has can’t say I’ll be buying another ford after seeing how bad the quality is between seals and even a radio unit

ANSWER: If your Bluetooth isn’t working or won’t turn on all you gotta do is look in your manual for your box box and find the location of the fuse that says “SYNC” pull it out. Turn the truck on. Make sure SYNC isn’t displaying. Turn off truck, reinsert the fuse and walla. BT well now turn on and connect your phone. Don’t fuck with the battery or anything like that.

im apparently not getting this so someone needs to tell me how to play music from your phone
I think your best bet would be to use an aux cord to connect your phone to the car via the aux input down near where the cigarette lighters underneath the radio. Much easier just to plug it in than have to mess around with the computers.

There is a menu button on the radio press that and select ok. Then, you want to select source in the menu and select Bluetooth. That should pair the audio. Sorry if I didn’t explain it well
