  • The Marine Corps XQ-58A Valkyrie, a highly autonomous, low-cost tactical unmanned air vehicle, Recently successfully completed its second test flight at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
    The XQ-58A provides the Marine Corps with a testbed platform for developing technologies and new concepts in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force, such as autonomous flight and unmanned teaming with crewed aircraft.

    The Elgin Air Force base is in Florida, yet there are no mountains in Florida. The video footage of that new drone was taken out west not Florida. Also isn’t the drone shown being developed by Boeing in Australia?

    If more than 100 XQ-58As were produced, the unit cost could drop down to $2 million each. For the cost of one F-35, we could afford to buy 50 XQ-58As. For the cost of one NGAD, we could buy 200 XQ-58As. I realize that the XQ-58A is a test and evaluation program, but _drone swarms are the real future of air combat_ and the more super expensive aircraft we make, the fewer low cost unmanned aircraft we will deploy. An F-22 would not stand a chance against 20 unmanned AI controlled Drones like the XQ-58A. Why is it that the Marines have figured out the nature of modern warfare, and the Air Force has not?

    • @tobyihli9470
      @tobyihli9470 2 месяца назад +2

      An F22 would simply fly through a formation of 20 drones undetected. It would show as a blip while its doors flipped open for a millisecond while it shot down the enemy aircraft, then ir would disappear again.

      @@tobyihli9470 You're kidding right? The Chines and Russians both have S and L band radar that can see the F22 and F-35 from 100 miles away! While they can't target in S or L band, they could put up a cloud of drones to overwhelm the F22 or F35. I mean they could if they chose to build a few thousand, which they could do for the cost of a few dozen F-22s. People think the F-22 and F-35 are invisible to radar, but spending just 30 minutes to research it and you will learn that the latest Chinese and Russian Radars can track current stealth aircraft, though the B2 and B21 are difficult even for S and L band.

      It gets complicated when it comes to strategic weapons...
      We need a collection of some f22s, f35 s, f15s, b21s, and ngads alongside the drone force.
      The drones are going to be a larger deal than I think they realize too.

    This or something similar is part of the wing man systems for the f35 beast mode. Which not sure exactly that means but I believe it either fly's in tantem and or launching from f35 hard point external on beast mode for better superity because as we know the f35 is the first true 5th Gen let alone multirole fighter but isn't the best at anything but is capable in all areas

    • @shenmisheshou7002

      The reality is that the future of air combat is going to be based on drone swarms. The XQ-58A could be produced for $2 Million each in large scale production. For the cost of one F-35 we (or the Chinese) could build 50 AI controlled drones, and the F-35 and a wingman drone would not stand a chance. For the price of an NGAD fighter, the we (or the Chinese) could build 200 XQ-58A type drones. The Marines have already figured out that Tanks and jets that need easy to damage runways to operate off of, are not the tools of future warfare. The Air Force though, is married to the manned fighter, and if the Chines start to build up XQ-58A type drones and we put all of our money into expensive manned systems, they will overwhelm us in ariel combat. Even with the B1B program, NATO urged us not to build the B1B and instead use that money to buy thousands of cruise missiles. Congress was not going to build it until the prime contractor promised to build parts in a several different congressmen's districts. Members of congress love to tout job creation, and it is job creation that really keeps these expensive programs going.

      F35 beast mode is the f35 loaded with internal bombs as well as bombs all over the wings on hard points. I think the airforce is planning to use these drones as loyal wingmen for the f35 and using them to lock on targets and send the coordinates to the f35 to shoot whatever down whether air to air or air to ground. Now when the NGAD comes out they will definitely be doing the same thing using these drones to fly ahead and pick out targets so they can stay more stealthy which is the top dog now whoever can be more stealthy and knock out the others radars will be on top of course there's always nukes in country's back pockets 🤷‍♂️

    The whole wingman concept is stupid.
    If the drones are going to do all the work (they can), why are resources being wasted on insanely expensive manned aircraft? Modern forces should be fighting by remote control from undisclosed locations. The war in Ukraine is proving just how fossilized the West's order of battle has become. Air defenses in Ukraine are so deadly that no aircraft dare fly over the battlefield, and stealth aircraft would not be able to either (stealth does not mean undetectable, missiles lock at 10-15 miles). This means only attritable drones can be used on modern battlefields. Over 50% of Russian losses in Ukraine are now due to $400 FPV drones. More than all other weapons combined and the rate is increasing. Manned fighter aircraft have been relegated to cargo vehicles for hauling smart weapons close to the battlefield, where they do all the fighting. Even then it is safer and cheaper to use ground launched systems like HIMARS, or long range autonomous Drones.

    OK… This video repeated itself over and over multiple times and told me virtually nothing. How many times do I have to hear that the Marine Corps is going to test at six times? How many times do I have to hear that it’s a AI driven drone? How many times do I have to see the same footage over and over again, along with that repeating message? Avoiding this channel from here on in!

    Any program called “Valkyrie” is idiotic. Every Valkyrie project I’ve ever heard of has been a failure, from the botched attempt to kill Hitler to the botched attempt to build a nuclear supersonic bomber. Secondly, if the prototype is any indication, this vehicle cannot get off the ground without ejectable rockets. That makes it a dead ringer for the 1945 V1 rockets of Nazi Germany. Such a relative lightweight unmanned vehicle should be easily capable of short takeoffs without assist. And the rockets used might as well be a gigantic neon weather balloon since the smoke could be detected from another planet.
