This is a simple way to do the golf swing and it's a system is based on 3 simple concepts - you need the golf swing to be repeatable, maintenance-free, body-friendly [which makes it FUN!]. In this episode the golf swing will be so much easier for you!
Have you been making the same old golf swing motions for the past 20-30 years and you're still struggling and searching for the next best thing? The game of golf doesn't have to be so difficult. There are easier ways for you to swing a golf club. Think of it this way, if you've been doing the same old golf swing for 20-30 years, making the same old golf swing "fixes" and watching/reading the same old golf swing "tips", what makes you think they're going to work for you? You're not noticing any improvement - and sometimes the fixes feel like band aids at best. What you've been experiencing is an ENDLESS SEARCH wandering in the golf swing desert for 40 years!
THE GOLF SWING SEARCH ENDS TODAY when you transition to the easiest way how to swing a golf club! In this rockin' golf episode we are going to :
    1. Learn how to swing the golf club hit the ball in the same spot every time (Consistent Contact Point)

I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.
My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

THANK YOU, Tom. You have shown us how simple the golf swing really is. After watching your "tilt - tilt" video I immediately got it, and started hitting consistently solid golf shots in my first range bucket - including much longer short iron shots, and 5 straight drives carrying 210-220 before the roll out. I'm 64 years old with a tummy. What fun and (as you promised) no pain. You will put the obfuscating instructors out of business!!!! This is also my first post ever. THANK YOU, Tom.

Hi Dave - I'm very glad to learn that these video lessons are helping you!
As a more advanced player, perhaps you might want to consider purchasing a copy of the Stack & Tilt book by Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer. It will serve you well as a textbook reference guide for the swing and will be highly supportive of what you will learn in my online school (saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga0 as well as here on this channel. Plus it gets into plenty of detail on the finer points including how to shape shots and much more.

    Hi Tom,
I want to thank you so much for all your videos. I have converted to your method and have played my best golf ever. I have played golf for over 40 years and golf has never been this easy. My wife and I love to play golf and we just came back from our week long golf vacation. We average playing 36 holes a day from Saturday to Saturday. I was able to have one round at an even par round of 72! (I am usually posting scores in the mid 80’s) The best way to describe my round of 72 is that it was MAGICAL!! I started the round with an Eagle on the opening par 4. I holed out from 132 yards. I nearly had to 2 hole-in-ones!! I had 2 tap-in NO stress birdies! Hitting approach shots at the pin has never been easier. I only dreamed that golf could be this much fun & easy. There really is no swing thoughts once you get it. My wife is currently converting to this swing.
Thank-you so much for all of the instructional videos!

I am a 25 handicap that has trouble with sliding off the ball and coming over the top. I have played for 4 years and this is the first video of yours that I have watched and it seemed to click. I shot an 89 today for the first time in my life on a par 72! It was way less to think about, even though I still lost focus a couple of times, but I was crushing the driver and my 5 wood all day! Thanks Tom!

I love this stuff! I am 56 and playing the best golf of my life with the single plane swing. Best ever round - 2 under par. Lowest ever handicap of 6.8. First ever hole in 1. First ever back to back eagles. 40 years I've been playing this game. I thought this would be a transition season changing to single plane swing and I still feel very much at first base with it, but the results are just great and I feel there's a lot more to come. My lowest handicap previously was 9.

I’m hitting my irons the best I’ve ever hit them, still working on the driver and will find out how far I’ve come on today’s round. I've been watching your videos for about a month. I'm coming of of knee and wrist surgery at 60 years old. I used to hit the driver 290 plus in my 30's and 40's. I had given in to the fact that I could only hit the driver 225 at best and a 7 iron 130 at best. I just finished my third round of golf since viewing your videos. While I'm still scoring higher than I would like (92 today), I was hitting my driver 240-250 and my 7 iron 155. I think I can whip my short game into shape and start scoring in the mid 80's in a very short time. THANKS!

I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Mike, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating well with you! This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance swing system is designed to provide a lifetime of great ball striking, and since it is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everything in between, and inclusive of the best players in the world.
By the way, you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.

That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. I have missed over 4 weeks of the short Canadian golf season this year due to a bad back. I searched online for a solution and found Tom’s instructional videos. This week I had a 30 minute session on the driving range using Tom’s swing instructions. They seemed to work. Today I tried 9 holes of golf using Tom’s stack and tilt technique. I have to admit that this swing feels awkward, but when you hit the ball well, if feels sweet. Today I parred the first 3 holes, then had a birdie, then a double bogie, then 3 bogies, followed by a par. After the first 4 holes I think I was either leaning to far to the left or I had a flat shoulder turn, but I was blading the ball, hence the bogie run. On the hole that I birdied I drove the green on a par 4. My longest drive of the year (295 and a beautiful draw). I’m going to stick with this swing because even though it feels awkward at the moment I can already see the promise. I’m also 68 years old by the way. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Followed Michael Thompson over the weekend and saw him on THIS Par3. By seeing his swing with the camera way behind I said to my wife: oh, I wish Tom Saguto could see this as this is exactly Tom‘s swing. Hahaha. So great to see this video. Awesome you put Michael in this spot. Love your instruction. My golf is getting better and better. The shorter the iron, the better I find this effortless swing. My main problem is still that I have to turn more my left hip thru the downswing, esp with the longer clubs. Will send you soon some videos via v1 and then I will listen and work on that. Thanks, Tom. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  4 года назад +1

Hi Lars - YES! Michael Thompson has a great swing, and now that you're learning this system you are able to understand why it works so well for him!!
I look forward to your videos. In the meantime, just remember that with the longer clubs and especially the woods, we need to keep the hips moving laterally towards the target through the entire downswing (while maintaining our swing center, of course). If the hips stop their lateral slide before impact their rotation will take over and reroute the downswing path. Oftentimes that will cause pulls and hooks. It is the same move with the shorter clubs, but because the ball position is further back it is much easier to execute.
      Thanks!
      Tom

    • @larsw626
      @larsw626 4 года назад +1

SagutoGolf Thanks Tom, for taking your time and sending this detail. The lateral slide is my main area which needs to improve, got it. I also „solve“ this issue with the shorter iron/wedge because I move the right food more in front, to stand more open, to the target. With this I am able to connect the right arm with my body during follow-thru. I took this advice from Mr Hogans book. At least this is something I feel. In reality, it is not that drastic but it helps me to start the lateral slide with my short irons. I found the watermelon video super important but it is still not good with the longer clubs/woods. Still some room to improve but we are getting there. Thanks again and have a wunderbar day ⛳️⛳️⛳️

On my second visit to the course, I took Tom’s lessons to the range. This time I applied the Ben Hogan arms tip. It worked for at least 95% of my shots. The balance Of the shots were skulls or shanks. The majority of good shots were draws with some hooks. Only two shots were fades. I realized the importance of turning the hips and getting my left shoulder to point down at the ball on the backswing. Previously I was leaning to the left at address and realized that this should be replaced with Tom’s recommended hip bump to the left. I now have to get more of a feel for what I’m doing in the downswing. I’m 68 years old and I have NEVER heard that sharp sound before at contact, and I have never had such a powerful ball flight. I’m going out again today. This is very promising.

I have been employing your methods for a few months now. This technique came really easy to me and I was hitting the ball crispier than KFC extra crispy in no time. The biggest thing was my ailing back was feeling great and I could play 3 or 4 times a week with no pain. Then last week my left knee (right handed) swelled up. Looks like a bit of tendinitis . Bummer. So, I watch your video here and at 21 minutes and 42 seconds there it was. Do not let your lead knee fold in towards the back foot. Ah ha! Tom, great lesson...thank you! First time at the range with it today and it worked very well for short irons and wedges. Not so much with long irons, woods, and especially driver. Ball flight indicated a square club face at at impact with driver but slight out to in path as ball would start straight and fade right. Swing thoughts were tilt, elbows together, and upper arms glued to my sides. Anyway, much improved short irons so I'll get there. Thanks again.

Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the longer clubs - which is quite normal early in the swing change process as a golfer gets used to applying the weight-forward concept to the fairway woods and driver - it can be attributed to one of the following:
      1) Their hips are not continuing their lateral slide through impact. This is common with the longer clubs as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing then their rotation takes over, inhibiting any further necessary forward weight loading (we should be 80/20 forward halfway down, 90/10 at impact, and 95/5 in the finish), changing the low point and rerouting the club into a steeper angle of attack. This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices.
Of great importance is keeping your upper torso/head in place (in other words, not moving towards the target from a face-on view) while the hips execute the lateral slide action. This preserves the swing center and the desired shallow AoA.
      2) They are not allowing the length of the club to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The shaft length of the longer clubs encourages more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".)
      3) Many believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws )
It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some driving range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: ruclips.net/video/o0xscMyN3v8/видео.html Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content.
Upon learning this swing properly you will be harnessing the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum". This is the reason my students and online school members of all age ranges end up bombing it farther than they ever had previously, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. And here's a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” if you’re interested in checking it out: go.saguto.golf/

@@SagutoGolf Tom, thank you for taking the time to reply with such a detailed and thorough response. You earned yourself a new customer at Saguto golf. You nailed it in your reply. I'm too steep with the long irons and driver. I've always had that problem. But today I got out my 'electric rod' and stuck it in the ground. Got more around my body with the back swing.
What a huge difference. I even hit a draw on a few drives and only a couple banana balls. It wasn't real pretty so I need to tweek my form but the basic problem has been addressed. Too steep. And I gotta tell you, I felt like I was almost dragging the ground with the driver head on the downswing.
One more quick note...thank you for replying and interacting with your You Tube viewers. So many instructors on here don't reply or even acknowledge comments and questions go unanswered. Keep up the good work! It indicates an act of good faith when you show genuine interest. I'll see you on the other side at Saguto Golf.

As a right handed golfer I was hitting behind the ball (irons) and doomed to try and adjust my downswing to hit the ball first. You showed me that I was unconsciously tilting back with WAY too much weight on my right leg. It felt good to do this but bad for consistent ball striking. Since then you showed me to keep my weight on both legs even (or a little more on my front leg) and I am hitting the ball 1st with tremendous high arcing shots! It definitely doesn't 'feel' good as I was doing it wrong for so long but the results are incredible. Lowered my average to 85 from 92!!!! Thank you!

Tom, very well presented. The one thing that really puts the cherry on top for me is the importance of a great grip. If you don’t believe it try doing the swing with a weak or super strong grip. It really has an effect on the down swing. I can’t tell you how many folks I taught that just refused to get that lower thumb off the back of the shaft. 😄

I saw your grip video and it was spot on. You may want to reiterate this fundamental so it ties in with all your instructions. Both arm do not become fully extended until 20” past the ball. This is the main reason I used the Greg Norman secret as it prevents breakdowns on the downswing. It also helps keep that thumb in the right place. 😁😉

I've been working on this swing exclusively for about 3/4 weeks now and I'm finding massive improvement in that short time. I can't wait to really nail this down over the next few months. I signed up for Tom's Online Golf School, it's very simple, breaks everything down into manageable parts and it works. I'm now compressing the ball, before I could never actually divot and everything felt thin and hollow. I'm also hitting straight! (well, small draw, but you can live with that right?) I used to hook the crap out if it. I almost gave up altogether because I simply couldn't stop it. I actually spent a couple of years doing that, like an absolute tool. I should have changed things around a lot sooner. Can't recommend it enough. Scrap all the other golf stuff you might be looking into, You Tube is full of stuff, forget all of that, get into Saguto Golf and I see no reason why anyone can't apply the method.

Lately the check points you have in your recent vids is helping to get consistent. Just yesterday happened two golfers behind us, joined us on the back 9; turned out very good golfers! One was shooting even par and good swing hitting the ball long. Kinda force me to up my game! Your vid and tips came to life as I birdied the 15th and the 17th crushing the drive. He said; so you crushed that one you think! With a little arrogance and confidence that says will see about that! He crushed his drive! Guess what! We get there and I’m 40 yards past his drive with a wedge to the green! Your vids & tips have been the difference! He said on the 18th tee; wow you hit long! He said how old are you? 60! I replied. Personally, I prefer to limit my brand of insanity to an occasional onscreen diversion while keeping the swing simple, body-friendly, and low maintenance!!
I'm glad you enjoyed this video, and I always appreciate your very kind words!

Thanks Simon - I'm glad to know that you're enjoying the videos and giving this swing a try! I think it will perform very nicely for you if you apply yourself to learning it the right way.
In this regard, if you'd like to give the swing a fair shot and get on the fast track towards learning it, please consider these suggestions:
      1) It would serve you quite well to enroll in the SagutoGolf online school. For just $10 US/month or $99 US/year you'll have unlimited access to a comprehensive members-only system for the full swing (including the finer points and feels), the short game, and much more. The school's intuitive course curriculum greatly simplifies the entire process through succinct, step-by-step videos, and I'm constantly adding new content. Here's a link if you'd like additional info: saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga.
      2) For a very useful supplement to the online school, consider purchasing a copy of the Stack & Tilt book by Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer. It will serve you well as a textbook reference guide for the swing and will be highly supportive of what you will learn in my online school as well as here on this channel.
Best of luck, and yes - absolutely I will keep the videos coming!!
      Cheers!
      Tom

Well, I’m much convinced that you are something special. You make golf lessons like Charlie Murphy tells E True Hollywood Stories. I could listen and watch over and over. You stand out above everyone else that teach timing and techniques endlessly. The best I’ve seen sir!!!

    Hey Tom,
During this pandemic I have gotten the whole family into golf. We use your videos exclusively to teach the wife and kids as well as for myself. The improvement has been steady and your videos are very easy for my wife to understand how to swing it. My 5 and 7 years olds have also steadily improved. Thank you so much. I struggled for so long even though I read everything I could and watched countless videos to the point that my will was crushed. Then I found stack and tilt and you Tom Segudo. Do you have a family plan for your video instruction part? Because we all want to hit it with the wrath of God lol.

Hi John - I appreciate your kind words and am very glad to learn that you are all learning from the lesson videos!
Regarding the online school (saguto.golf/p/golf-swing-simplified-tom-saguto-pga), one membership is fine for your household, so let's not concern ourselves with trying to bundle individual memberships for the wife and kids.
I'm looking forward to hearing about the "Wrath of the Garcia's" taking over your local golf course!! 😆
      Thanks!
      Tom

I have a sore left hip and starting with weight more over this hip and less shifting really helps , plus improves ball ground contact.

I'm glad to learn of your ball striking improvement, Marshall!
If you are executing the setup and swing correctly, that soreness should be temporary and ought to dissipate as the muscles and joints get accustomed to the motion.
By the way, here's a link to my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” in case you’re interested in learning some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/
      Keep up the great work!
