Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
    My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.
    My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

    I've studied grips from all the greats from vardon, to sarazen's really weird grip to palmer, Nicklaus and beyond. This is the best explanation of grips and how they effect the swing. I've recently had operation problems and had to look at swings to help my spine. Your swing is the one that i can do without body strain. Also, your grip is the best.

    Been following your lessons for a while. Today I employed a couple of your lessons and was in total awe of the results. The changes I made where lead knee going down instead of back and moving hips forward at the start of downswing. I hit 45 out of 50 balls straight with power I haven’t felt in a long time. Used to have a good game but do to my age 73, I have lost a lot of game. Season in just starting here in Michigan with great hopes of a much improved game. Thanks Tom

      By the way, a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
      Have you looked into the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. Thousands of folks across the globe and spanning all age ranges and talent levels are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. Tom! This video has been an eye opener! I never really examined my grip - and I noticed when I was following you while you placed your hands on the club that I actually didn't place them correction on the grip. I would start my handling more on top of the grip and not the side of the grip. This set a light bulb in my head - and it feels so so soooo awkward for me! But I'll keep plugging away to get use to this. Thank you sir. Keep up the great work!

    • @SagutoGolf

      Absolutely, @Gaber1983! It's our only connection to the implement that is going to deliver us either continuous joy or endless frustration, so we best get that grip right before anything else!!! And yes - it will definitely feel weird for awhile, especially if you've been gripping improperly for a long time. Just stick with it and it'll become second nature to you. In his "Five Lessons" book Ben Hogan suggested working on your grip for at least 5 minutes a day, and the nice thing is that you can easily do this in the comfort of your home.

    Tom you are one crazy guy, you should be on the stage-sweeping it!!. No really you make me laugh so much with your Samurai Moves etc. But I love your style!. I tried your stack and tilt and boy did I hilt some hoolies . But what I found in your lesson was I need to get more around in the backswing. I used to be way too flat years ago and then I would have to come over the top to get back to the ball!. Bad move so I then worked on getting the club up on the backswing and after a lot of practice I got it down really good and have played of 4/6 handicap for the last 45 years here in Lovely St Andrews in Bonnie Scotland. But as a golf freak I am always open to slight changes and your lesson made me try a much flatter backswing and low and behold I feel my draw coming back. I always take big divots here in Scotland because Links Golf is tight lies and you have to get down into the back of the ball. But I play a lot of golf in the Algarve where my flatter swing is going to make a much flatter entry into the ball and a much thinner divot. Keep it going my man , love the teaching and the fun.

    One of the best videos on grip out there... Just when you mention grip pressure, should the pressure be the same in both hands? The old teachings suggested that the lead hand was firmer and the trail was 'along for the ride'. Always confused and something i've never had any consistency with.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Год назад +1

      Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
      Grip pressure is something that is very unique to each of us, which is why conveying personal "feels" in this regard have led so many golfers astray. For example, a 2 out of 10 “baby bird” grip to a strong guy like Sam Snead may equate to an 8 out of 10 to another golfer. We definitely don't want that handle swimming around in our hands because we're so loosey goosey that we can't control the clubface. A secure grip and soft arms are what we're after here. That prescription will certainly resonate differently for different folks, but the key is that our grip pressure should give us complete control of the club while not introducing swing-killing tension that prevents us from properly executing the motion and/or robs us of speed potential. Finding that sweet spot is a highly individual thing, and it is critical to consistently blissful ballstriking.
      As for differing pressures in each hand, some do and some don't. Again - a very individual thing. Experiment to find what works best for you!
      Tom

One of the nice things about this method is that once you have the basic swing principles down there's no need to constantly beat balls at the range day after day in order to maintain consistency. So get that putting fixed and start making the most out of the game you love now!

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  2 года назад

      I'm glad you enjoyed the grip lesson!

    Tom I'm a right hander, but only use the right hand for a little more stability taking the club to the top, but mostly left, and at impact it's feeling like only the middle, and ring of my right firm up a little. Beyond that it's all in my left hand, forearm and weight over my leg down into the outstep of my left shoe, in other words most all left, and I've been playing a weak grip in my left hand. I probably suffer some distance, but man am I a stray ball hitter due mostly to a body swing , and release. The bow at the top and holding that angle is what really matters.

    • @drawstraw4483
      @drawstraw4483 Год назад

      😝dang it.. didn't mean stray,. But *straight.
      Also hit might help to notice that at impact the left wrist has not only inflection, but honer deviation which will look different than left wrist at address.

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  Год назад

      A "weak" grip does not necessarily translate to less distance. In fact, have a look at this video related primarily to the tendencies of having a grip that is too strong: ruclips.net/video/EneeNS3pf-0/видео.html
