I was actually referring to Spencer’s ability re : thinking outside of the box in order to invent these unique components to his compositions. In every one of his drum tracks, there’s always a feature that I’ve never heard played before = That’s the insane part for me. Edit : When performed accurately and involving combinations around the kit not of the drumming world norm, “simple” linear fills of originality are not only a signature of Spencer’s songwriting, they can frequently sound the most pleasing to the ears, while greatly benefiting the structure of the song.
Sometimes when I'm programming drums I worry that it's too fast to sound believable and it'll take people out of the music because it's so obviously artificial... Then I see this shit and think nevermind, I can make it faster.

I'm sorry but comparing this video and cuntcrusher, Aaron does more complex stuff (altho this guy does seem to be better at single-hand snare hits (or at least he uses it more frequently)). If you look at Aaron's double-kick speed, it's miles above this guy (again, basing everything off this video). IA's song progression also make way less sense, I don't think there's a part that would repeat twice, which makes the drum pattern harder to remember. Now couple that with a 2 hour show of absolute madness, I feel like it'd be pretty damn hard to pull it off, especially if you gig about every other day.
I recognize those red tips... those are the Vic Firth Metal N drumsticks. They're the closest things to marching band sticks I've seen and played with. He's a machine.

Amazing and technical superiority. I just think the sound and feel of one-handed 'traditional' is so much nicer. I don't think it's about speed that gives blast-beats their identity or sound I think it's just optimal anything over 250 - hell, the intensity can be shown in 220bpm. I'm just saying my personal preference but I am a massive fan and I was absolutely over the moon when I got to see you live and I was like a kid at Christmas: you blew me away with your seemingly effortless performance and I can't thank you enough and you are very unique in your skill set so keep going my man. Thanks. :)
