    Great video of a place I have wanted to visit for a long time. So happy that the goat devestation is beginning to heal. Hail to mother nature who works wonders when man is cooperative. Thank you.

    This was my home for about 3 years as a child. Dad was running the lab and also working on the island rehabilitation program. I had the best experience leaving there. I have seen new footage of the island and its looking amazing. Great documentary, hope to visit and show my daughter and wife this majestic island. I will never forget the adventures I had. I am truly blessed.

      I was a geothermal researcher and got to visit this island going through Mexico with an old friend who is a conservationist. Just a wonderful little island.

      Ever see anything odd or strange in or around the water out there?

    • @bimbi654
      @bimbi654 3 месяца назад

      @EggzOverEZ I remember seeing lots of orange dead fish carpeting the ocean after a hurricane on one occasion. I also remember seeing the marine elephants often with their torso out of the water, as if they were human, like just floating in the ocean. Water was very cold, and it would turn from clear navy blue to deep dark blue a few hours before sunset. The north side of the island is very good for fishing, but it is too dangerous. You are on cliffs, and you have to use the goat paths to get down enough to throw your line.

      @@bimbi654 Theirs recent reports that theirs been alot of USO (Unidified Submersed Objects), UAP/UFO sightings out there. I know its a Military instillation and besides that i know its known for having alot of Great White Sharks out there as well.
      A very very curious place.

    I got to visit the 'lupe one time in 2006. It's just an awe inspiring place. Though we never set foot on shore, we did get to tour around the entire island, including Isla de Afuera and Isla de Adentro. Nice look at Guadalupe through the years!!

    Thank you for sharing! Love native plants and love to see such resiliency of nature, even if the island will only be a shadow of what it once was.

    Was that a pond at minute 13:56 ? Is there fresh water on the island?

    VERY interesting, I discovered the island while exploring on Google Earth, I love what's being done there. Is there an effort to transplant some of the crowded seedlings to hasten their spread?

    Very inspiring, to hear how so many plants got restored in the island after goats were removed. The part about 150,000 elephant seals repopulating the region from a cave in the island is also a stunning success.

    Another awesome sight to see at Guadalupe are the numerous huge Great White Sharks that show up every year in the clear water during the summer and fall, to feed on the seals, and Elephant seals.
