- Watch the first clip from #TheBeatlesGetBack and experience Peter Jackson’s three-part event beginning November 25 on #DisneyPlus.
The Disney+ original docuseries, directed by Peter Jackson, will be arriving on Disney+ just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Made entirely from never-before-seen, restored footage, it provides the most intimate and honest glimpse into the creative process and relationship between John, Paul, George, and Ringo ever filmed. Be sure to check them both out, and don’t forget to watch “The Beatles: Get Back” when it rolls out over three days, November 25, 26, and 27, 2021, exclusively on Disney+.
Directed by three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “They Shall Not Grow Old”), “The Beatles: Get Back” takes audiences back in time to the band’s January 1969 recording sessions, which became a pivotal moment in music history. The docuseries showcases The Beatles’ creative process as they attempt to write 14 new songs in preparation for their first live concert in over two years. Faced with a nearly impossible deadline, the strong bonds of friendship shared by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are put to the test. The docuseries is compiled from nearly 60 hours of unseen footage shot over 21 days, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969, and from more than 150 hours of unheard audio, most of which has been locked in a vault for over half a century. Jackson is the only person in 50 years to have been given access to this Beatles treasure trove, all of which has now been brilliantly restored. What emerges is an unbelievably intimate portrait of The Beatles, showing how, with their backs against the wall, they could still rely on their friendship, good humor, and creative genius. While plans derail and relationships are put to the test, some of the world’s most iconic songs are composed and performed. The docuseries features - for the first time in its entirety - The Beatles’ last live performance as a group, the unforgettable rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, as well as other songs and classic compositions featured on the band’s final two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.
An exciting new collaboration between The Beatles and Jackson presented by The Walt Disney Studios in association with Apple Corps Ltd. and WingNut Films Productions Ltd., “The Beatles: Get Back” is directed by Peter Jackson, produced by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Peter Jackson, Clare Olssen (“They Shall Not Grow Old”) and Jonathan Clyde (“Eight Days a Week”), with Apple Corps’ Jeff Jones (“Eight Days a Week”) and Ken Kamins (“The Hobbit” trilogy) serving as executive producers. Jabez Olssen (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) serves as the film’s editor, the music supervisor is Giles Martin (“Rocketman”), Michael Hedges (“The Adventures of Tintin”) and Brent Burge (“The Hobbit” trilogy) serve as the series re-recording mixers, and the music is mixed by Giles Martin and Sam Okell (“Yesterday”). "Is that one called 'I've Got a Feeling'"
I love George
It would be funny if he was actually asking
@@aydanneilson-bourke7378 For all George knew, it could have been called Everybody Had a Hard Year.
I swear it looks like Ringo said that
@@dranelemakol yeah that was weird.
@@aydanneilson-bourke7378 that’s George’s voice, plus you can see him ask, better think a little before you make an incompetent comment
It is truly unbelievable how modern this looks. Film restoration truly is an art form.
In my opinion they went way overboard with the de-graining/de-noising filters. Faces like a Snapchat "beauty filter". Grubby carpets looking like slick billiard cloths. Sharp edges around every shape.
At the time it was the coolest, most modern, hip music and looks and so was their long hair and bangs and 1960's wasn't that long ago anyway and everything was in color too back then.
Way too much DNR (digital noise reduction) though. Everyone looks like a Ken doll and there are no visible textures anywhere. Classic mistake when restoring old film. 😑
@@rsolsjo Yeah, I guess Jackson and his team are just amateurs when it comes to film restoration.
@@catherinewilson3880 It's a stylistic decision. Really good film conservators will often find a balance, sometimes the instinct for someone like Jackson calling the shots is to just remove all the grain completely, but it never ends up looking good.
I’m so glad that the Beatles are back together.
ikr, after 50 years, they gonna make music again
its kind of amazing how they havent aged a day
Winner comment
finally
My sweet summer child
Only people who aren't musicians think that Ringo didn't matter. he had no idea what this was, never heard it before, had no music sheets and was playing 100% Perfectly for what the song needed.
The rooftop concert wouldn't even be a thing if Ringo hadn't encouraged George to do it.
I am watching Ringo all the time now...It was no accident they brought him in at the 11th hour and rid themselves of Pete Best..Ringo was already a legend pre Beatles from being with Rory Storm
Ringo "mattered" because of his personality: A calm, non-competitive presence and peace-maker. His drumming was workmanlike.
@@8angst8 🤡
Paul, John and George need to thrash again and again to produce the right tunes to the song, while Ringo is always ready with his beats...
Paul's mastery of melody and musical theory was far beyond most of his contemporaries.
Paul was top dawg even in the Beatles..The Mozart of the 20th Century
un BELIEVABLE, NO training of any kind. lack of training made him free.
All from intuition, listening to music growing up and figuring it out for himself, no schooling needed. Melody in particular is the magic part of music that you can’t teach at all. He’s probably the best ever at it.
Just saw him perform tonight... the man's an amazingly genuine and emotional artist, with a subtle, understated genius for songwriting and music in general, but so humble, never big-notes himself... but when he talks about John Lennon, and then he does THIS SONG, with John's voice on a backing track that they digitally separated out with AI... and then he says "Can you imagine what that's like for me? I mean, all of a sudden, I'm singing with John again, and even though it's virtual, I'm singing with *John* again... Serious stuff..." it fairly broke my fucking heart just to realise how much he deeply, truly misses his dear friend John. 😭 RIP John. We miss you... dream on. ☁️
no music theory at all.. pure instinct
This is really going to be a huge early Christmas present for all us Beatle fans. I can't wait for this Documentary.
Peter Jackson your a legend!!
For beatle fans?? Nah for very musician.
@@beatleboy305 Deep down every musician is a Beatles fan.
or, for me, a birthday present!
@@darkjanggo Happy early birthday
@@liam-ashton thank you my friend :)
How strange it is to watch The Beatles actually learning how to play a song. It's such an abstract thought when you've heard the fully formed song so many times over the years.
That and how easy it is for each member to create something special out of thin air.
0:20 Paul: "Oh please believe me", John: "Yes I will!"
Love this!
I've said this earlier this is like seeing friends or family you haven't seen in years. You hear the doorbell ring and there they are.
I think your response is the most articulate I've read about this.
Like dwarves in a Hobbit hole?
Open the door and let'em in! oooh yeah
Paul : Oh please believe me
John : YES I WILL!
Makes me smile and cry at the same time ☺️
Hopefully Disney Plus will start uploading all the Beatles movies, the Anthologies, etc. to its platform. It would be a great way for new generations to learn about this magic.
I would love to see the Anthology series again. That was quite a while ago when it originally aired.
@@SammyJoeLouis they haven't showed the black stories section for awhile if thats what you're talking about
Your statement says it all … 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is brilliant! The initial chords rundown for I've Got a Feeling. OMG. George even asks the name of the song at the end. No words. Just absolutely brilliant. I cannot wait for the premiere!
I think George was being ironic there. He was known for having a dry wit.
Asking "Is that one called I've Got a Feeling?" after Paul repeated the phrase like 6 times.
@@RJSOW I was gonna reply this exact thing but then i clicked "View reply" and saw someone already did. lol.
@@RJSOW The song consists of two parts, the other being Everybody Had a Hard Year. At this point the song is completely new to George and Ringo, so it could actually be an honest question.
@@RJSOW ive heard people saying he says "is that one called 'ive gotta feel it'?" i can kind of hear it too
@@EmileJoulbert Hey, that's interesting, I didn't know that. It could totally be the case then!
Peter Jackson out here preserving history for future generations.
Rest in paradise John and George
And Paul.
@@gringoloco4 Paul ain’t dead, dude
@@ryanpmcp uh yeah he is. I don’t know who this idiot is masquerading as Paul since around 1966, but it doesn’t even look like him. Enjoy.

I think the Beatles are cracking, I mean, you can't beat them, they are out there on their own, they've got a style of their own, they are a lovely crowd, they've good quality, they sing well, and what else can I say - they are real good people!
I love that elderly gentleman that said that too
Stylistically they are all over the place-it sounds like 50 different song writers.
George with the sarcastic comment, I love it
It might have been an honest question. The song could just as easily have been called Everybody Had a Hard Year.
@@EmileJoulbert I know was just making a joke :)
George is one of thoes guys that when he speaks u honestly can't tell if he's being tough in cheek or not, even in a completely innocent question such as "is that one called I've got a feeling?"

@@lemurianchick that's what I meant but I don't proof read b4 posting
@@RickardoMute I do it because some people repeat erroneous phrases. One that makes my skin crawl is "for all intensive purposes" instead of "intents and purposes."

"Is that one called 'I've Got a Feelin??" LOL! If you've ever been in a band before, you'll realize musicians are the biggest ball busters of all time LOL!!
hysterical..well said
I've got to say, the clarity of the film is amazing. This *looks* contemporary, and not 50 years old. Really cool to see them like this.
well said
Three of the greatest songwriters all in the same band. What a blessing. Lennon/mccartney were the greatest songwriters of all time. And George with something. The greatest love song of all time. They'll never be a better band. Not in my lifetime.
Radiohead has entered the chat.
@@Dsksea No they haven't.
@@Dsksea Radiohead writers and performs all of their own music and isn’t just a boy band marketed to the masses-I’d agree RH is one of the best bands on the planet-so much artistic integrity.
I just love The Beatles more than words can ever express 💚💜💙♥️
Paul ruled everything at this point in the band
An amazing band and music , ‘The Beatles’ will always be World Icons.
This is beautiful. The Beatles inspired a lot of Musicians and People in General.
a generation...or two. But that's just my feeling, on it.
These guys had such a creative, synergistic chemistry… amazing.
This makes me ask: why couldn't they have had cameras when they were making all their other records, too?! I'd be willing to watch all 50 hours of this! Can't wait to see the Beatles and their creative process in this film...
Imagine being able to see restored video footage of the recording of Sgt Pepper's or Revolver man
@@hugosanchez7599 that’d be insane, or the guitar solos from “the end”
The reason the sessions were filmed was because this was planned as a movie to be released into theaters…
Because they needed a final film to finish their film contract they signed early on in their career, so put out let it be
Camera was one of the reasons they hated the whole get back session.
For true and new fans of the Beatles, this series will be a welcome rebuttal to the dark and dingy "Let it Be " documentary. It is astonishing to see the level of interest in these young men fifty years on. It seems that each new generation is attracted to the Beatles and their music.
I love how these clips, just seeing them develop songs that we know the final result of. It’s so cool.
Looks and sounds perfect. Brilliantly done Mr Jackson 👍🏻🇬🇧 the Beatles are the greatest band in the world.
Gorgeous Harrison
When people think Ringo can't play it's cause they don't know what a drummer following everyone else sounds like, this clip shows it
This is gonna make my folks so happy seeing old footage they’ve been waiting for a long time .
The Beatles are without a doubt the best rock and roll band ever👍😀
Honestly, hats off to Peter Jackson and his team for making this look like it was recorded just yesterday. Its crazy how modern it looks. And sounds.
An endless depth of unimaginable talent!
This is magic in the making from 4 guys brought together by some higher power. Will never happen again. Can't wait.
Some people would love to see a historical event such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence or a famous battle. Some would like to see video of an individual who was gone long before video was possible. I want to see this!
Paul has been proven right time and time again, and his idea of this album with it being filmed has finally been proven right. For so long it was viewed in such a negative light and a failure (for the Beatles standards anyway) but finally after all this time what a great historical documentary it is to see it in its full glory. It really is such quite incredible to see the actual Beatles write, record, and perform live for 8 hours in such amazing quality.
I love listening to Ringo on the Drums. Magical for sure.
I love all the eye contact going on between them, wow, collaboration!
Most beautiful thing I've seen in years.
I could watch this stuff all day! And the look of the film! Oh my o my!
Wow 2021 i will be able to watch this?? I have listen to this guys for so long and i thought I have seen it All... My relationship with The Beatles and life is getting better thanks to this, i wish I can say more but is hard to describe what i feel right now, well in one word is HAPPINESS... Thank you John, Paul, George and Ringo love you forever...
Incredible. McCartney was so creative, what a band and what fantastic music.
Definitely looking forward to this! The Beatles are awesome.
I still think that sharp tone "I've got a feeling" should be in the record, only once, it will make a good difference
George just there putting in additional color and doing his thing. I love him.
Outstanding footage the colour and sound can not wait for this
My favorite song from their last album; wonderful
Only 28 years old but a HUGE FAN of The Beatles. Cannot wait to watch this multiple times lol. I own a few of their movies on VHS but this is such a treat. Feels like this was just filmed.
Love hearing that from a fan that was even born when the Beatles disbanded.
Such a gift for all Beatles fans !
Won't be long before this generation want to know what magic of the Beatles their music never sounds old powerful music
Paul's voice sounds better here than on the final cut. I love the falsetto he goes in to to sing the chrous line.
I don't think it would have fit in the final cut but it sounds heavenly
Perfectly the same as me!!!
Wow 😢 😭 stunning to see that I'm speechless the coming together of I've got a feeling omg
That was epic to watch 🤩 I can't wait to see this documentary ❤
Just perfectly wonderful.
That might be the funniest thing George said the entire show. LOL
I really love this song
Musicians collaborating in the most simple form….. in the rehearsal room. Priceless

So psyched for this. Thanks for doing this Disney!

And seeing true geniuses at work i.mean the best of the best
I'm not a Beatles fan but I certainly will be watching this documentary, I'm fascinated with things like this
Absolutely amazing
Watching this kind of makes me sad that we'll likely soon lose Paul and Ringo. Paul is probably one of my favorite musicians of all time. May this music live on!
This gave me goosebumps
The best band ever!!!!!
Gigged drums for years. Staggering how cohesive these guys worked together. McCartney is ripping off chords and time signatures....and nobody says "Why?" Never scene anything like that. It's like they're brothers. Working on originals was always a fight with numerous guys I was with.
They did fight, all the time, but usually George stayed in his lane and let Mccartney/Lennon duke it out until they agreed or agreed to disagree.
Looks great. Thanks for all this.
They could be here right now it looks modern fabulous footage
The greatest ❤️
Very impressed that Ringo knew what to do having never even hearing this before.
Just finished this series today. Puts a brand new perspective on this
I really can't wait to watch it!! Omg❤️😍❤️I am so exited

EXTRAORDINARY ❤
Amazing how a song comes together and the synergy these guys had.
Too bad they got on each other's nerves.

Love take me down to the streets!
It's been a few years since I last checked, but at that time The Beatles had sold over one billion albums....that's 1,000,000,000...and still going.
Let that sink in.
Yeh. And I'm about to sink in $100+ for their recent Let It Be box set and hundreds more on future anniversary releases. :(

The Wrap mistakenly today said "Most charmingly, at the end of the clip, you can hear Ringo Starr ask, Is that one called ‘I’ve Got a Feeling?’” - But it's clearly George's voice...though Ringo seems to be mouthing the same words at the same time.
I thought it was Ringo, too. Then, watching the clip a second time I realized it’s George’s voice
They must have dubbed in George's question, because both he and Ringo are obviously saying something at the same time.
@@michelepaccione8806 Definitely dubbed in. You can tell George isn't actually saying that. Took me a few loops but I just realised that.
Ringo says something else at the same time but he's not asking the same sarcastic question George is. Ha ha.
Not dubbed in. They used AI software to separate the voices. You can hear Ringo faintly in the left channel and if you slow the clip down you can clearly see george saying "gotta feeling"
